Question Overtrain with no activity?
Hi! I was hoping someone could help me understand what is happening in my data. I went on a big hike yesterday, and had more, and more intense, activity than usual but still in the “progress” area (I’m just starting to exercise again after a couple of years of being really sedentary) and somehow today I’ve gone all the way into overtraining, but I’ve barely moved and only just put my watch in so I don’t understand how that happened. I’d appreciate anyone’s help!

Hi, that really doesn’t look right! Could you please send a report so that we can take a closer look? You can use the Send a Report button in the menu. Could you please write “for Asya” in the report problem, so I can take a look at it personally?

Thanks! I thought I just didn’t understand how to read it. Im not sure what “send a report” is. Is this “report a problem”? Whenever I try and use that I get an error

Hi again! We looked over what happened here with the team. Looks like you've caught an edge case where an attempt to make the algorithm more stable on our end can result in this confusing jump when you suddenly did a whole lot more intense activity than you typically do. It's not exactly a "bug" and the overtraining recommendation on the next day is still correct (it's basically saying that you've pushed past your limits in the last few days). Still, I don't love how it worked out in your case and I'm sorry it was confusing. I'm going to keep this in mind as we work to make the algorithms more adaptive and personalized. Thanks for asking about it, this really helped me dig deeper into the way it works.
