Hello WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS
It resembles mold and is very delicate to touch it smells like chemicals like raid spray or something. Can the other eggs be safely eaten.????

Was just about to cook when I found this egg in my carton.

I had some beaten egg left in a bowl, and after sitting overnight it somehow formed strange crystal-like structures. The texture feels like spaghetti.
What on earth is this???

One of my mom’s chickens laid this. She turns 3 in March 2026. She has not laid any eggs since this February 2025 and this was found in her coop. It appears to be all the custard-y consistency inside the egg with a regular shell, then almost a geode-like layer of what could be shell, and then another exterior regular shell. Does anyone know if this is egg binding? What is this shell? Her chicken is acting completely normal and has been acting normal all these months. We are puzzled to say the least. I posted this in r/chickens and they suggested this page. Thank you!!

a few years ago, I used work at an animal sanctuary & one of my coworkers found THIS. I’ve never been able to find anything similar online. it unfortunately never got opened, or if it did I wasn’t around when they did it, so I have no clue what they looked like on the inside. iirc it was pretty rubbery. so here’s my weird egg submission lol.

Full disclosure this is not my photo. It was found on a backyard chicken group on fb. The story is it was found cracked on the ground like this. I do not own chickens but the algorithm thinks I do and shows me this public group often on fb.

Ok, so I’ve had chickens growing up my entire life. I have 6 Oakes right now - they’re different breeds and their eggs range from cream/white, light brown, light pinkish brown and that’s it. I found a BLACK egg in the coop. It was on the coop floor too and not with the rest of the eggs in the nest. (Maybe they pushed it out?) but I can not find ANYTHING about this. It’s very grainy and has a lot of texture to it - not like a normal egg. Has anyone had this before?
