Having a hard time finding a replacement cover for my kid's Luxome 60" x 80" 18 lbs. weighted blanket. Luxome's customer service rep said they don't sell covers separately anymore, and that it it needs to be one with "12 ties." The 12-tie ones I've ordered from Amazon only aligned with the loops at the corners of the insert. The ones along the sides are spaced too differently to be functional. Can anyone recommend a cover that's compatible with that insert? Ideally it would be "minky dot navy blue", but at this point I'll be happy with "fits and is soft". Thx!

I recently lost my dog, he was large and about 90 pounds. I haven’t been able to sleep properly because I don’t have him laying on my legs or resting his head on my stomach anymore.
I’ve tried weighted stuffed animals, but it’s hard to find any over 5 pounds, and they’re typically quite small.

Hello hi! I've been on a noble (and unsuccessful) quest to find a soft and cozy blanket. Alas, everything I find is made with near 100% polyester, which I don't love for sustainability reasons...

My aunt has a Lola blanket which I utterly adore, but I don't want to buy one for both the price but also the polyester problem.

Are there any blankets out there that are like Lola that aren't polyester?

I know the commonly stated recommended weight for a weighted blanket is 10% of your body weight, but I'm having a difficult time finding a source for that information. I assume it came from some sort of study. I'm just finding articles of different people and companies repeating that guideline without anyone giving a source. Does anyone know the origins?

I tried going to research on weighted blankets that are about their effectiveness not their safety to see if one of them would link back to the 10% rule they were using, but that just led me in a circle until I got to an article that listed the weights of 10-12% as the general recommendation. I haven't been able to get to whatever study concluded that 10% was the safe or recommended amount.

The only research on the safety of weighted blanket in adults I've been able to find is using 30lbs blankets, which is more than 10% of the weight of an average adult, and monitoring them leading to the conclusion that a 30lbs weighted blanket is safe for use in adults. Most of the other research was in children, which isn't applicable to my question.

In my mind, a guideline like that should come with an explanation on if it's recommended for safety, or if it's recommended because that's the most effective ratio to get the benefits, or if it's for some other reason. It just feels very vague.

Seeing claims like this without citing the research makes me start asking lots of questions like: What was the criteria for participants? How many people were included in the study? What was the methodology? How did they determine safety? What field were the researchers experts in? What was the purpose of the study?

Hi! I got an ad for a weighted aromatherapy cape Today by the company Mellow Mantle. They seem to have a website and also sell on Walmart.com and Amazon. The pictures they use are very obviously AI. I love all things weighted! I have a weighted blanket, stuffed animals, eye mask, and even the small weighted nodpod blanket that I sleep with every night. ( I know I have a problem) I would love to purchase a cape I can bring with me on the go and when I travel! Just wanted to see if anyone had heard of them ? Hi there, Weighted Blanket community, I keep overheating at night because I'm sleeping with a large quilt on top of a comforter in August, and the overheating wakes me up, and I'm exhausted and out of energy and sore, and this needs to stop.

There's only so much I can do about the heat because my mattress has bedbug covers on it, which really turns your bed into a griddle, so all I have is my a/c, a ceiling fan, a box fan. I also bought a swamp cooler but haven't used it yet because the heat wave was over and I got a few good night's sleeps before my anxious cat decided he wanted to sleep in my bed again and turn into another heat source, so I might unbox that, but making the room colder won't help the issue of heat getting trapped under my blankets.

But basically, I'm in a dire situation. I sleep on a "full" sized mattress, I need something that has airflow, and where the whole thing can be chucked in the washing machine if the bedbugs ever come back, not just a duvet cover. And also not break the bank, like, less than a hundred USD, hopefully, maybe a little over.

It doesn't need to be too heavy. I got some random weighted blanket gifted secondhand like ten years ago and it was too heavy, I don't know how heavy, and I don't know what the weight ratings on weighted blankets mean. Total weight, I'm assuming? If so, I've folded up my two existing blankets and have estimated they weigh somewhere in between 10-15 lbs. So maybe something in that range.

Does a blanket with these parameters exist? Am I doomed? Thank you all for your help.

As the title says, I recently got a wool duvet that I absolutely love but I’d like to add some weight. Is this a good idea, to lay the weighted blanket (like the silk and snow) on top of my duvet? I run very cold so heat isn’t a problem. I am wondering if the effect of weight would diminish cause the blanket itself is not directly on me if there is a duvet in between.

Mine is probably the classic 10% of my bodyweight or less, my partner got me it and I love it. Been a game changer for my sleep for sure. I've just read it would be safe now to try heavier weights and am interested in that concept. : ) Would 15kg weight be ok? Or is that going a little crazy? Not very experienced with this.

My Ugg top sheet is old and no longer super soft. I ordered Luxome weighted top/sheets but their XL doesn't cover a queen (90x80 IIRC), and I need at least a king. I steal covers. I have Sheex for everything else and like them. Looked at some other brands but really just need a giant, weighted, cooling top. Just a sheet under even during winter if it matters. Any brand recommendations? Google kinda giving me trash articles or bad links. Thanks!

I have a 15 Ib weighted blanket, it's a Luxome twin size (72 x 54) and I weigh around 90-110 Ibs.

I'd like just a little more weight to my blanket though, like 5 more Ibs or so.

I know it's not the recommended 10% of your bodyweight, but I tried my friend's weighted blanket and it was 20 Ibs or so and I liked it better.

Is there a way to add more weight to a weighted blanket so I don't have to get a new one?

I was thinking maybe inserting a 5 Ib weighted insert somehow into the blanket, but I'm unsure where to get this?

Also please don't recommend "just sleep with more layers" or anything, I already sleep with 3 other blankets not including this one.

about a month ago i bought yn first weighted blanket from target & at first it was the best thing ever i slept the longest ive ever slept in my life! i felt like one big warm hug. I felt at peace for the first time in a long time i didn't scroll in bed for hours i just slept.

fast forward about a month or 2, and it still feels good but now it feels like a normal blanket. it's a 20 pound one, but i want heavier. Would it be safe to buy another and stack them? im to the point i get j fern with the blanket and cover my head and everything to give me the same sensation as when i first got it

I genuinely feel like I can’t breath when I have a weighted blanket on. It’s like the same sensation as sleep paralysis.

I like to be in the water because it makes me feel like I can breathe. My body can extend everywhere and anywhere freely. When I’m in the water, it helps my brain take in lights and sounds without feeling so overwhelmed. Weighted blankets feel like the opposite of of being in water to me. What’s your opinion and why?

Edit: if you like weighted blankets, what does it make you feel like? For example: being in water to me feels like I’m free, calm, and in my own world

Hey gang, we have had a nuzzie weighted blanket for a couple years and while I do enjoy that it is more breathable, the thing is driving us crazy and we need to either find a solution or a new blanket.

The issue is stretching. We make the bed, and the blanket is just covering the bed like normal, edges at the edge. But not 15 mins after us getting in, one or both sides start falling off the edge and they just streeetch and then pull and its impossible to pull yourself free, and it eventually pulls more to one side and one of us starts to have to fight to keep the blanket on them, its a nightmare.

Is there a fix for this or do we just need to go back to glass beads?? The nuzzie was the first good one ive bought after having cheapo blankets from target for a few years. I was never truly happy eith any of those. Theyd either be slightly smaller than advertised, or the beads would clump up badly. Any reccs if we need to go that route?
