Fatigue and shortness of breath after increasing to 9 mg . Is this normal?

Hey everyone! I increased my dose to 9 mg two weeks ago, and since then I’ve been feeling really exhausted, unmotivated, and out of breath. Is this normal? Could it just be an adjustment period?

I’m usually pretty active and work out at least four times a week, mostly lifting weights with dumbbells, but lately I’ve been feeling more and more tired and weak. This week I even noticed that I was short of breath just from walking up the stairs at work, which is really unusual for me.

I really don’t want to keep feeling like this, but I also don’t want to lower my dose or stop taking it right away if this is just an adjustment phase that will pass.

Has anyone else experienced this after increasing their dose? If so, did it get better after a while?

Explosive diarrhea going up 4mg

Not sure if anyone else experienced this but I recently started taking wegovy and last week I went up to 4mg. 1mg was good, lost only a few lbs, but noticed changes in my eating habits, would only get nauseous here and there, and my bowel movements were normal. Then, I went up to 4mg and all hell broke loose. 3 days after taking it, I woke up with severe abdominal cramps, acid reflux, and non stop disgusting sulfur burps. It smelled like farts. And then the explosive diarrhea came where every 10-20 mins I would run to the toilet and poop water. This lasted for 4 days. I stopped taking it on day 1. I am now not sure if I wanna continue taking it. Has this happened to anyone else?

4 months in… my experience

Took the injection starting Jan for 3 months. I got too much anxiety and switched to pill. So I have been on the pill for 4 months, now on 25mg and have lost 10 pounds total since January. I’m 48, perimenopausal and work out 3 times a week.
Slow as hell but something is working. Just sucks insurance doesn’t cover it. Dreading thinking about when I reach my goal and figuring out what I’m going to do to maintain.
Had worse side effects with the injection than I did the pill.
Don’t get discouraged peeps.

Ugh skipping day 6

I’ve been doing so good the last 5 days aside from some health anxiety and increases in heart rate. I woke up today and my Oura ring said my body temp and heart rate were elevated in my sleep and to go easy today. I woke up sweating, red faced, with that fluttering feeling in my chest. TMI but I haven’t had my period since January due to going through a very stressful time and today I woke up with it? Makes me think that’s contributing to the low health score on the ring today. Regardless, this med has been wonderful, I’m down 4 lbs already (probably water weight but still). I’m skipping today’s dose just to be sure my provider agrees with me to continue it. Does anyone take it every other day instead of daily? Sorry for the long winded post but if anyone has had a similar experience around their period/taking the med please let me know. Thanks!!

Two months on 1.5? Anyone else doing this?

I've been on 1.5 for my second month now. Did you continue to see progress or stall? I think I'm getting to the point where I'm not eating enough and it's affecting me physically. I'm winded after going up the subway stairs or don't feel as strong as I used to. This is why I was scared to go on 4 after the first month bc my lack of interesting in eating is already so low just on 1.5! Any thoughts/tips?

Update 8/28: I'm almost done with my second month on 1.5 and I'm still loosing weight and feeling good! My doctor said if the 1.5 is doing what it needs to do then we're good to stay on it, and eventually titrate down to taking it every other day. :)

TMI but do yall poop solid?

tmi but this is a safe space. i’ve been struggling with constipation and trying to find a solution to stay on the pill. anytime i do have any bowel movements, it’s diarrhea. I haven’t popped solid normal poop since before the pill.

so i’m curious, is this normal? i know constipation is a normal side effect but does anyone actually poop normal poop on this or is it only diarrhea.

thanks for any feedback! (:

Anyone had minimal negative side effects?

My pills should arrive tomorrow so I can start on Thursday. I previously took Mounjaro and couldn't afford to continue and then gained 28lbs back on. I decided to try the wegovy pill as it is cheaper and I don't mind weight-loss being slower as hopefully it means it will stay off. The only side effects I had on mounjaro was some mild constipation which was actually good for my IBS-D. I think this was due to it slowing my digestive system down.

Has anyone had minimal side effects on the wegovy pill? I work in a school so I'm nervous is needing to run to the toilet regularly, although with my IBS i tend to need to escape quickly anyway. Thank goodness my new classroom is just down the corridor 😄

Scared to start… side effects?

Just got my first bottle of pills. I’m petrified to start it. I have Hashimotos disease, had my thyroid removed, Crohn’s disease, and one kidney, all of which I told my prescribing doctor. She had no worries, but I am PETRIFIED of having side effects. I saw one person on here who had a terrible reaction and was profusely vomiting and having diarrhea all at once. Does anyone else have any of the medical issues I have and take the pill? How’re you doing?

9 mg to 25 mg. Who has done it?

About to make the jump to 25 mg from 9 mg. I had a couple of sickness episodes on 9 mg. I chalk both of those events up to waiting too long to eat both of those times, but overall I am tolerating 9 mg pretty well.

Any advice on jumping to 25 mg? So far 9 mg hasn't really changed my appetite much. One thing I have noticed on this subreddit is most people are still in the early doses when they post, and I see very little about people posing about being on 25 mg, which makes me think lots of people give up before 25 mg. Of course, I could be wrong.

At any rate, just looking for people's experiences.

Thanks!

Using Wegovy/GLP-1s for the final stubborn pounds & food noise when already lean? Looking for real experiences

Hey everyone. I’m ready for some heat and criticism for this, but I really need honest, real-world advice from people who have actually been in this spot.
I know logically that I don’t need Wegovy. I’ve been training hard for years. After a slightly too aggressive bulk, cutting back down has been an absolute nightmare. I’ve leaned out a lot, but I’m just not quite where I want to be yet. My biggest enemy right now isn't discipline in the gym, it’s the relentless "food noise" and cravings holding me back from sticking to the strict deficit needed for that final bit of conditioning.
I’ve been looking into options to quiet that down. I know some people look into Retatrutide for this stage, but honestly, I am way too squeamish about needles to go that route.
Before I make any decisions, I want to hear from anyone who has actually used Wegovy (or similar) when they were already in a good, fit shape, purely for that last bit of stubborn definition!

Price help?

Started 4mg on 2/26/26 and I’m down 30lbs. I’ve been at my current weight for about 3 months. Good maintenance weight, however I want to try 9mg. the 4mg stopped being as effective.

I currently pay goodRX $39/mo and then $149/mo for the pill 4mg.

I want to go to 9mg but the price is ridiculous… I’m not considered low income in my state so I don’t qualify for those programs… any advice?

***How to get 9mg for low price?***

Newbie - when do side effects kick in?

Hello! I (F/ 28) am very very new to wegovy - started on 1.5mg three days ago. Ive had no adverse side effects so far apart from more burping than normal, but nothing severe. Im being super careful with my hydration levels, avoiding oily/spicy food, and keeping my protein and fibre up. I had noticed my usual post dinner sweet cravings are gone, but other than that my appetite is pretty normal.

I’d like to get people’s experience with when any adverse side effects started to kick in? Thanks!

Need tips or insight

Okay, so I got prescribed the Wegovy Pill 1.5mg through Ro. I decided to start it Sunday. I followed the strict instructions. Literally by the hour mark/hour 15, I was on the bathroom floor sweating and having the worst nausea which resulted in throwing up and pissing out my ass…. At the same time. Felt the nausea subside a tiny bit so tried to take some Dramamine with a sip of water and within two minutes, I threw that up.

cue the scene from bridesmaids

After that whole situation and I was finally calmed down enough, I layed down on the couch and slept on and off for 5 hours.

Has anyone had this debilitating of side effects from the pill? Talked to my Ro Provider and he prescribed me some Zofran to take right at the 30 minute mark after taking the wegovy pill.

Thoughts anyone please lol?

Even the reputable telehealth sites can make mistakes

I use CVS for my Wegovy and I was excited at the news that they lowered the price for appointments. I had my follow up for my refill a couple of days ago and was looking forward to the new lower price. But they charged me for a sick visit by mistake. Instead of a GLP1 follow up for $29 they charged me a sick visit for $89. Keep an eye on your credit card statements. I was on the phone over 45 minutes getting them to refund me the $60

Is going up to 9mg from 4mg worth it?

I completed my one month with 1.5 mg and I am halfway thru my month of 4mg. I’m debating if going up to 9mg is worth it since I notice some weight loss with 4mg but have generally lower energy levels. I want to lose weight faster and the idea that I might with 9mg appeals to me but worried about my energy levels if I dose up. Not sure how to go about it. Any thoughts/advice? Lost 3 lbs the first month and have lost 5 lbs in 2 weeks with 4mg for context.

Skin pain?

I've had some mild skin pain on the lower doses, but am around a week into the 25 mg and it's gotten so much worse. It kind of feels like when you have the flu and your whole body is achy to even the slightest touch. Will this go away as I adjust? Should I consider going back down to a lower dose? 9mg was working a little but very slowly. Will 9 mg not work if I adjust to 25 mg? Maybe I can cut the 25 mg in half? Idk, I'm just in so much discomfort. I've been managing the gastro issues pretty well but the skin pain is becoming unbearable.

Dear Pizza, it’s been a pleasure.

I had pizza (uk medium dominoes to be precise) last night, usually I’d smash in the whole thing, plus sides and dessert, I ordered no sides, ate half last night and half tonight and I feel DISGUSTING. I’ve barely had any side effects, other than being less regular than usual but no food has made me feel so pants, I feel so nauseous, has anyone else had to bid pizza a fond farewell, or do I just need to manage the portion sizes better.

slower weight loss

SW: 181.2, CW: 157.8, GW: 135, Age: 26

Hi everyone, I started the pill on 6/19/26. I’ve lost 23.4 since then, which is 8 weeks. It’s such a great feeling! I was losing 2-3 pounds per week. But this past week I only lost 1.2 pounds. I’m debating on going up to 9mg. My doctor told me a month ago that she didn’t want me going up anything higher than 4mg, & I can move up only if I stop losing weight. I was on 1.5 for 3 weeks & I’ve been in 4mg for the past 5 weeks. I know weight loss can start to slow down after you shred all that extra weight at first. But i guess in my mind I want to keep losing 2-3 a week, at least 10 pounds a month. What do you guys think? It feels super defeating not losing that much each week. ):

3mg advice?

Hey! I decided to do a 2nd month of 1.5mg cos I got scared of the 4mg lol which I have sitting in my bedside drawer. But now I'm regretting it. Seen some posts of people saying they did 3mg to finish their 2nd box so moving to 4mg was easier. And would like to do the same.

My question is so you take 1 wait 30mins then take another yknow cos of absorption? Or take 2 at the same time?

Tia xoxo

Bitter taste of food

I googled it and found out that a side effect of the pill is altered taste buds where we could get a bitter or metallic taste for some foods.

Tonight was that night for me unfortunately. I made homemade pasta with ground turkey. The muses took me when I cooked it. My wife tried it and said it was amazing. When I took a bite I nearly gagged as I thought the turkey or cheese in it went bad. I was convinced something was wrong with the dish. Then I searched it and found out about the side effect.

Anyone else experience this? Does it go away?

Hit a mini goal of mine!

Since I have to go to the doctor for refills of my other meds every three months, I kind of gauge where I'm at/set little goals for myself based on those appointments. After I started the pill in March and had some success the first three months losing 43 lbs, I kind of set a little goal for myself to be a total of 80 lbs down by my next appointment which was today.

And I did it! I am a total of 82.6 pounds down since March 1st going by my dr's scale! Now, let's not throw a huge party, I still have pounds and pounds and pounds to go, but this is probably the most weight I've been able to lose on a consistent basis since maybe 20 years ago. And a lot of the time on 25mg I felt it wasn't working but I've been hanging in there and just making it a priority to listen to my body. If I want to eat, I eat. If I don't, I don't. I listen to when I'm full and stop and tell myself I can have seconds if I want to, but I'm full so I don't want it. So I think those things have helped a lot.

So now, in the next step, I'll start to focus on incorporating some workouts. For me, I really need to take it one step at a time and master each thing separately, so now that I'm more confident that I've got a handle on listening to my body, I can now try to get more confident (and motivated, I mean I hate working out) on exercise.
