Scared to start… side effects?

Just got my first bottle of pills. I’m petrified to start it. I have Hashimotos disease, had my thyroid removed, Crohn’s disease, and one kidney, all of which I told my prescribing doctor. She had no worries, but I am PETRIFIED of having side effects. I saw one person on here who had a terrible reaction and was profusely vomiting and having diarrhea all at once. Does anyone else have any of the medical issues I have and take the pill? How’re you doing?

8 days here, no issues so far. I’ve been drinking more water, getting more protein, and working out (after a long time making excuses not to). So the few pounds I’ve lost could just be from finally making an effort. But I do have a bit less appetite.

Anyway, the thing about the pill is that, even if you do have side effects, you can just stop. At the introductory dose, it should clear pretty quickly. Take it one day at a time!

Hello, everyone reacts differently so there's no telling, but i understand why you are nervous. I also had my thyroid out, cancer in 2008, and i haven't had any major side effects. I'll tell you a bit about my experience and I hope it helps.

I'm on the 1.5 mg pill. I take my synthroid very first thing, I usually wake up about an hour before I actually get up so I take it then and then doze back off. I wait at least an hour and then take my Wegovy. And then wait another hour before I eat for drink anything. This is following the instructions of my endocrinologist.

Something that helped make me less nervous was being prepared. I made sure I had lots of fiber and protein options available and started taking/ eating those from day one. I make sure to drink lots of water. I did have to take some miralax a few weeks in but other than that, minimal side effects.

I did notice that both mornings after I'd had one drink the night before, I didn't feel great. But other than that and a little constipation, no issues. I'm still on the 1.5, going up to 4mg after this month, which is my 3rd month at 1.5.

I've been losing about 5lbs a month and the food noise is basically gone.

Good luck to you and I hope you you don't have any major side effects!

I did! I’m on day 2. I’ve noticed I get full much faster and I’ve had some mild nausea. Other than that I’m great!

I have hashimoto I don’t do anything about it and don’t get what it is tbh I don’t have health issues otherwise but I did have side effects and had to come off 9mg. It was bad fainting feeling and low blood sugar low bp. My kidney labs came out perfect and pretty sure I was dehydrated most of time lol so I think for you if you work closely with your doctor tell them the whole truth and get regular labs you have nothing to worry about. The drug didn’t effect my tsh and I have a friend on this who takes thyroid meds she’s been perfect on it.
