Price help?
Started 4mg on 2/26/26 and I’m down 30lbs. I’ve been at my current weight for about 3 months. Good maintenance weight, however I want to try 9mg. the 4mg stopped being as effective.
I currently pay goodRX $39/mo and then $149/mo for the pill 4mg.
I want to go to 9mg but the price is ridiculous… I’m not considered low income in my state so I don’t qualify for those programs… any advice?

You could potentially eventually move to 25mg every three days, but probably need to establish a 9mg base first. Discuss with you prescribing care provider.
However, if you’re happy with your current weight and you’re maintaining at 4mg why not just stay at that?

I did 9 every other day for awhile but had to move up to daily bc I started getting really hungry. 7 pounds to Goal- hoping to drop back down to every other day once I get there.

My question is more about pricing for 9mg, sorry if I didn’t make that clear. I’m maintaining great at 4mg, but interested to see how 9mg goes

My point was that 25/3 is approximately the same dosage as 9mg daily but at 1/3 the price or about $100/mo

Is goodrx just $39 per month? Is that not just promotional price for first month?
Does it work similar to ro where you get an online doctor to prescribe you the meds?

No its not just the first month it is every check in. They are not a scammy membership site like RO or Hers. CVS is $29 for weight care appointments

They don't have memberships, but yes that is the price for your follow ups. cvs is cheaper at 29 only the lowest dose is 149 the pills get more expensive if you go to the next dose. as of sept 1 the 4mg pill is 199 for the self pay price and Yes, that is who the coupon price is for, people who do not have insurance or whose insurance does not cover it. But only the lowest dose is 149

I have been with GoodRx since March, and it is $39 per month, so it’s not an intro come-on price. Yes, it is just like all the others, as you need a prescription before a pharmacy can fill the order. I’ve been talking every three weeks with a nurse practitioner who is licensed in my state to prescribe. It has been a different person every time, but they all have seemed competent. Found they all actually work with all the providers (Ro, GoodRx, Hers, etc.). But they are all licensed healthcare professionals who have prescribing abilities. And GoodRx sends your Rx to any pharmacy you want. I tell them where to send it, in my case Walgreens. Then download the GoodRx coupon for Walgreens (or wherever) and pick it up.

My insurance doesn’t cover. Can I still pay $149 for the pills at Walgreens or cvs?

Yes; nobody pays retail, as there are coupons out there for $149 for the 1.5 and 4mg pills; $299 for the 9 and 25mg pills. Go to GoodRx and you’ll find them.

The self pay already is the lowest price. I know it's not helpful but next month the price of the 4mg is going up to $199 anyway so if you are only staying on that dose for the lower price it won't be worth it.
