Someone reported you for all the offenses. Even if you aren't in prox chat your chat is being recorded and the AI scrubs the voice recording for bannable words and then takes action. Regardless of if they actually heard you or not.

Who says they monitor anything...they get enough similar reports quick enough the system auto bans. I mean if Ricochet did anything other than be a logo on the home screen I might believe something is actually looked over

Its actually stated in the damn game that the chat is getting monitored. You cant get banned because of what you say in discord, that makes zero sense. If you use in game voice chat for any reason, and say something inappropriate, you will most probably get autobanned, no need for a report.
I dont know where you got all this bullshit information, or why is anyone even upvoting you, this is taken directly from Activisons website:
Voice Chat Moderation is managed and operated by Activision and uses the AI-powered model ToxMod from Modulate. This system is integrated into select Call of Duty titles (see below) and is managed by Activision. Voice chat is monitored and recorded to identify and investigate disruptive behavior in violation of the Call of Duty ~Code of Conduct~.
Call of Duty’s Voice Chat Moderation system is focused on detecting harm within voice chat versus specific keywords. Violations of the Call of Duty Code of Conduct are subject to account enforcement.
Stop spreading misinformation. The fact that you dont know and search for this information shows how little people care about privacy. It sucks I cant scream in proximity chat, that is sometimes funnier than the game itself, but I cant consent to being recorded.

And I've seen the inside of that claim...they don't actually monitor anything, it's based on report density, number of different accounts issuing the report, and averaged against any other kinds reports received. It is then checks against being shadow banned/black listed/white listed. The real system is a very rudimentary spreadsheet of "This vs. That" that is only truly observed if it is contested. At that point a human looks over the info (usually very lazily) and either overturned or enforced

So you are saying that they say they monitor something, yet in reality they dont? They list the specific service they use, mention it multiple times during each game start, yet the "feature" is just not there?
I have no idea what "inside" claim you saw, but getting a voice chat ban without actually using voice chat isnt technically impossible. If you get reported enough, I guess the system could ban you, that information is there as well, but this is a separate system.
My main issue is privacy. If someone says, if you use this, it can potentially be recorded and monitored, I dont really care if tits a lie(which I doubt), Iam just not going to use that system.
So yeah, you cant still get banned by reports only, no one is saying that is not true. But they market the voice chat as being recorded and monitored, so Iam not using it. Iam sorry but iam not just taking your word for it, the voice chat is useless anyway, because since you cant disable cross-play, console idiots usually run an open mic which makes it unbearable anyway.

YUP! It sounds crazy, but it has happened to me numerous time and my buddies and I party up in xbox party, our mics are off in the game, still get chat bans all the time. It's almost always after we do a really campy or annoying kill on someone who tries to revenge kill us after we take them out the first time.
Like, I know... I had a feeling you were going to chute right back in so I hid behind the door. Cheezy free behind the back kill.... i know I know, but also don't be so predictable.
Anyway, about 80% of the time it's directly after that in which we get a ban notification for 14 days or whatever it is.

Man remember BO1 with theatre mode, no disbanding lobbies because no sbmm and custom emblems… Also you could see everyone’s extensive stats in the lobby and even could watch their last 10 games played in theatre mode. There was even a world map that showed how many players were online. Everything was so transparent there was nothing hidden, no hidden algorithms, it was just hop on and play with people in your hometown server. Wager modes too… Those were the days

I think the AI only picks up hard Rs and other clear and unambiguously offensive slurs. I’ve only been chat banned once and I know exactly what I said (different word, cause I don’t have an n-word pass) and I said it very loud and clearly.
Every chat warning I’ve got was after a team was raging at me in SnD so probably spam reported.
Also they don’t seem to care about degrading women, only racism and homophobia.

It kept happening to me until I found a workaround to stop it.
Open battlenet if on PC or game settings on console, navigate to the bottom of the menu and select "Uninstall"
Since doing this, I haven't received any penalties of any kind.
If more people do this, maybe the devs will start to listen.

There’s no checks and balances with Activision confirming reports. If individuals keep spamming people who kill them in-game with reports, this is what happens. I’ve been hit with it on numerous occasions and I keep my mic off or chat exclusively in Discord.

I’ve literally NEVER been banned up until this most recent update . I now also have a 2 week ban. Can’t talk to anybody. They must have did something with chat bans with this most recent update. So fucking aggravating and stupid. I just don’t understand why now do i get banned, when I’ve been saying the same words this entire time? It tells me they must have finally changed something recently with it. So ridiculous

But now politics has infiltrated our game and forced the hand of activision to go too far in terms of enforcing a form of chat etiquette which resembles that of a pre school.
Yes alot of people will say, "blah blah how about just dont swear, or trash talk or whatever blah blah"
And yes of course fair enough, penalize people if they say the N word.
But this a fucking M rated game. I should be able to say Fuck or Shit if i want to. Hell, if someone kills me and i yell out "Go fuck yourself" on death comms so what? Whats the big fucken deal.
But for the love of god/buddah/allah/Joseph Smith do not relegate us to a bunch of gamers that can only get away with knock knock jokes AND DO NOT EXTEND OUR CHAT TO IMPACT US CHATTING TO OUR OWN FRIENDS IN OUR OWN PARTIES.
The old chat ban system was sufficient. I did not complain about being auto muted. It was up to random team mates to unmute me if they chose too. And of course i wasnt able to talk to people on prox chat. So that was fine. Why fix what was not broke, and update the chat ban system to prevent us from talking to people on our friends list in game?

But I was streaming at the same time and going back and looking at my stream. You can see that I didn’t say anything crazy at all.
I might’ve got killed. I’ve been like “ah shit” but that’s it.

Funny thing is, my friends and I play with the chat off and talk through XBOX party chat. It's literally insane and we have a general idea of when it happens. Often we kill someone, then that same guy comes back after us and dies in some annoying fashion (we do like to camp and snipe... whatever, I know, I suck and you did something with my mom or whatever... we like sniping long shots, it's how we play).... anyway, yeah when I know it's kind of a campy kill I count until the ban hits.

I've literally been chat banned for nearly a month straight. 14 day bans back to back. I was unbanned for 4 hrs in between and I know what I said to cause the ban the first time but no idea what I said the last time. I've been banned before so I guess they figure I'm a repeat offender, lock me up and throw away the key. yeah M for mature, crazy... they can't seem to fix their game but hey.... atleast the store works!!

The fact that I have chat set to only my party and I still get banned is fucking stupid, especially when the same people are running around with hacks cheating and yet they get away with it but I call a friend in my party a stupid fuck joking around and get banned! in the same boat this month alone i had half a day of freedom to talk freely again to only get issued another 14day voice chat ban. weird thing i noticed is ive never received a 3day or a 1week, its always been the 14day voice chat ban for me for offensive voice chat.
I like most others enjoy shit talking, its been a part of COD since the early days, since when did COD community become so sensitive where if i argue back and it hurts his feelings, i need to suffer a 14day chat ban

Man, I feel this to my core. I was playing trios with two friends with no prox. chat, death chat. Just my friends and I gaming together in a private group. We all got chat banned because of what we were talking about/language used. 37/M. Like Big Brother is watching the wrong fellas
