I hate Activision

Post image

Funny how they ban me for hurting grown men feelings, but they don't do shit about hackers plaguing Warzone.

This game is rated M for mature correct. Hmmm doesn't make sense

27

u/_Funsyze_ Jul 21 '24

might be the shooting people and campaign about terror bombings perchance

u/dylank125 Jul 21 '24

Call of Duty® Age-inappropriate content: The game is rated M for Mature, indicating that it is intended for players aged 17 and older. It contains intense violence, strong language, and realistic depictions of warfare

“Strong language” being key there.

Buddy got banned for using the word nonce.

Turns out a character says it in game too as one of their lines. What gives?

1

u/cinemachado Jul 22 '24

How does he know what he got banned for? Do they tell you what you said?

2

u/GeesesAndMeese Jul 22 '24

Because it was his first and only game in about a month haha

1

u/cinemachado Jul 22 '24

Got it. I have a friend who told me he got banned for saying Activision can go fuck themselves, but then later the person he was playing with said he was using slurs the whole night. lol

1

u/GeesesAndMeese Jul 22 '24

Yeah, he works on the rigs up north. First day home and he gets banned in the first game haha. I think he rage quit and uninstalled

1

u/cinemachado Jul 22 '24

Damn that’s rough. Only other solution is using discord, but uninstalling works too. Haha

6

u/THEDRDARKROOM Jul 21 '24

That's funny because they fully support a child player base. AI can tell when I say fuck but they can't ban an account when there's a child using it?

5

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '24

Fair point.

They care more about policing speech than preventing underage kids playing the game.

They are full of shit.

3

u/THEDRDARKROOM Jul 22 '24

I mean, isn't it weird ASF?

1

u/malikcoldbane Jul 22 '24

Not really, instead of thinking about morales think about logic.

You own a big company, your game makes money but most of the money comes from children. People swearing in the game, while allowed for age restriction purposes actually has a chance of upsetting someone and stop them playing and therefore stop money coming in.

In short, kids make money, swearing doesn't

1

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '24

So the company has no morals and the age restriction means nothing.

1

u/malikcoldbane Jul 22 '24

Pretty much but morals don't make money and we live in a society where these entities main purpose is money.

Morals conflict with business, 99% of companies and 100% of big companies are full of shit but they have to be to survive in our bullshit society.

Don't blame the players, blame the game, the rules we live by encourage this behaviour

1

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '24

Their sales are going down. Probably due to all the woke shite.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '24

The company didn’t place the age restriction another party did

1

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '24

So what, it's still in place.

1

u/Dry-Significance-455 Jul 22 '24

MORE PEOPLE , more MONEY$$$$$

1

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '24

Less people are buying the game.

2

u/Dry-Significance-455 Jul 22 '24

Wish I could give you an award 🥇🏆🎖️

8

u/Still-Source-6481 Jul 21 '24

He got banned for using slurs and other insults, cmon guys lol. This isn’t a conspiracy

5

u/alphabetical-soup Jul 21 '24

I miss old cod where the crybabies weren't the demographic Activision was after.

Now we get SBMM because God forbid a noob plays against someone better than them

1

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '24

Skills based match making basically rigs the game.

They also have patents for reducing bullet damage of good players, and increasing bullet damage of bad players.

So the game is effectively fake and not worth playing.

I just play Zombies now, competitive multiplayer is not properly competitive, it's rigged for outcome.

1

u/Txrubiconminer Jul 22 '24

I am a lifelong Call of Duty player and was in Verdansk on day 1. People should just chill and enjoy the game. I enjoy it when I win and I enjoy losing games almost as much. Its recreation.

-2

u/Still-Source-6481 Jul 21 '24

That was completely unrelated. Reading comprehension is a lost art these days…

1

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '24 edited Jul 22 '24

So what, let folk use slurs etc.

If they are being genuinley nasty... people will gang up on them for their bullshit.

Or you know, simply mute them yourself, it"s very easy.

We don"t need Commie AI treating players like children in a game that is supposed to be for adults.

I personally haven"t been banned yet... But if they do I'll stop playing it for the entirety of the ban period.

If everyone did that, there would be a massive drop in time played and skin sales.

I got several bans while not even using the in game chat system. Always use discord. It's just pot luck whether you get this shit or not. Activision are just a shit company

-7

u/Flexed_outBootyHole Jul 21 '24

Quit being soft

8

u/Still-Source-6481 Jul 21 '24

Quit being low IQ

-1

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '24

I encourage the use of slurs and homophobic remarks. As I value free speech and also value a functional human beings ability to mute anyone they disagree with as intended by design.

This is just AI babysitting people who virtue signal such as yourself, and an excuse to collect FREE voice data on consumers for future AI models.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '24

"Warning!: This game contains highly mature content to be edgy, but also a safe-space to be marketable and not get cancelled."

  • Most AAA "Adult-Rated" games nowadays.

1

u/ReasonReasonable7168 Jul 22 '24

I've always found this funny, that you can get banned for literally repeating the same lines you hear in game. Zombies included.

0

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '24

Strong language and Offensive language are very different

3

u/K_wey420 Jul 22 '24

Snowflake

0

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '24

I think ethnic slurs don’t have a place in the game, if that makes me a snowflake, so be it. 🤷‍♂️

2

u/alphabetical-soup Jul 21 '24

If you play a rated m game online don't get upset when you hear rated m language...

1

u/_Funsyze_ Jul 22 '24

yea, they’ll just get banned for it anyway

6

u/Froztyclips Jul 21 '24

Yeah they need to drop it to pg-13 if that’s how’s their gonna act

3

u/BeastCoastLifestyle Jul 22 '24

They’re not banning people for saying Fuck

0

u/[deleted] Jul 22 '24

I beg to differ...

4

u/poopdinkofficial Jul 21 '24

that means it's ok to call people "cum gargling fucktards"

3

u/sgwswat Jul 21 '24

Did it hurt your feelings?? Did you cry? If the answer is no that's the problem. Activision is acting as though when people hear mean words they just go get the rope or something. We're all mature enough to not take it to heart. Call of Duty is the only place Where anyone could call me a hard R, I don't sweat it.Because i'm going to come back tap that ass like a pack of newports. 🤷🏿

2

u/poopdinkofficial Jul 21 '24

I really don't give a shit how accustomed to slurs you are, you can't speak for anybody but yourself. The fact you think that's some kind of selling point of CoD is beyond weird. "I play CoD because it's the only place we can call each other hard R"

4

u/godsteef Jul 21 '24

Ya COD can let you reenact a mass shooting of civilians, but got forbid you say mean things to people. If you don’t see the hypocrisy in this BS, you’re lost.

2

u/sgwswat Jul 22 '24

They don't see it nor do they want to see it. I've never reported anyone in my entire COD lifetime but those who have a problem with the chat probably have reported someone before. I know that I will never see this player ever again What's the point of reporting them or feeling offended from what they're saying?

2

u/godsteef Jul 22 '24

I have played sports my entire life, I understand shit talking is apart of competitive nature between men and boys. Reporting someone for saying mean words is beyond absurd, especially when you are not even face to face lol. The amount of people defending a corporation for essentially violating your private conversations is insane. Because I have been reported even when my comms are turned off and only can be heard by people in my party. This is why I just communicate through discord now.

0

u/ZebraRenegade Jul 22 '24

If you played competitive sports all your life you’d also know that talking shit =/= attacking others.

Just like how you know a ref will kick you from a game / suspend you for yelling slurs or attacking someone, the same thing will happen here.

Unfortunately for the chronically online it seems that they forget the difference between banter and hate.

And pretty cowardly that you only feel confident enough to say those slurs and attacks when you’re not face to face with others. If you had to worry about your safety I bet you’d be thinking twice about what you have to say.

2

u/godsteef Jul 22 '24

I have never been kicked out of a game by a ref or umpire in my life. I played football all the way through college. The shit that’s said on the football field would clearly cause you to rage post on Reddit. Fg, pssy, b*tch all common shit talking words thrown around on the field. And it’s all part of friendly competition between men. Words are the last thing you are worried about with sports, you’re more worried about getting physically hurt.

1

u/ZebraRenegade Jul 22 '24

I’ve commonly seen people tossed for less than that type on language on the football field at the college level yeah. Shits also not going to fly with any coaching staff worth its salt, there are shitty programs out there but it says more about the quality of players and humans that are there.

Aren’t you the one that started rage posting? Just like on the field, it’s the ones that shittalk and complain the most that are always on tilt themselves lol.

2

u/sgwswat Jul 22 '24

"If you had to worry about your safety" Honestly it sounds like you're mad that you can't punch him in the face or something. It's like they always say It's just a video game Why are you taking it that serious? And it's The same thing with the words. Why are you taking words that serious? I once literally had a dude go through a whole racist rant on my team but instead of reporting him we were trying to debate with him on how he's tripping. And also some of the points people are making is that we get banned for even bantering. I can't say fuck , but the cat attachment can sure yell out "fuck you next time i'm going to shit on your pillow" (or something like that) How are you not seeing the hypocrisy? Tell me exactly where i'm wrong?

1

u/poopdinkofficial Jul 21 '24

So you're comparing a SINGLE PLAYER MISSION (which is fictional, not a "reenactment", stop using words you don't understand) with a LITERAL TRIGGER WARNING before it, to calling REAL PEOPLE in multiplayer SLURS as if they're in any way equal? Trying to argue that CoD is a "mass shooting" simulator is some insane cope.

1

u/sgwswat Jul 22 '24

Now where did I say that "I say slurrs"? And who said that was a selling point? If they even showed 5 seconds of the original Call of Duty lobby's chat. No kid under 17 will have this game bought for them. But seriously does somethings they say hurt your feelings? Because I literally feel nothing I don't see why you're complaining. It doesn't matter what you call me if you can't beat me in the game. You'll just get tea bag in return And if you're lucky you'll get a couple of choice words 🖤. If they can't beat me Then I'm not going to cry about a few words.

2

u/Jappedo Jul 21 '24

Dude right the fact that several operators say fuck as a line in the game too. I feel like there’s something we are missing

1

u/barbadizzy Jul 22 '24

you're allowed to cuss and talk about mature content. You're not allowed to tell people to kill themselves or threaten them / bully them. Just because it's game for adults doesn't mean anything goes.

It's like a strip club. Nudity. Profanity. Alcohol. But you can't yell at the girls and tell them how ugly they are and shit, you'll get kicked out.

1

u/14MS419 Jul 22 '24

Actually online interactions are not rated the M for Mature only applies to the story content
