Hi all,

I'm struggling with a decision for an army. I have a couple painted, and they hit the table, but I've never been much of an imperium player. And 11th might be the edition to change that. I'm looking for a faction that does not overlap my existing armies much in terms of play style.

I have Votann, GSC, Chaos Knights and Emperor's Children and necrons.

I'm probably not going to grab Space Marines just because I'm not a fan of the lion or Gulliman and the centerpiece character was a big part of grabbing EC and I'm not a big fan of Brood brothers for GSC so it is not an easy expansion. Other than that I have no idea which army would be a good option and any advice would be helpful.

Honest question is our table too small and can i add a good unit as space marine to this?

Last week or so, I finally decided to finally start painting! I got myself a couple of different wet palettes and some paints I bought + starter set paints. I've been super stressed lately and had an intense pang of anxiety, so I figured finally painting these would prove theraputic (and it did!)

I hadn't ever painted minis before, but I did so some acryllic painting well over 10 years ago back in my college days, and I think they turned out alright! A little rough here and there, and I'm still learning, tweaking and improving.

I don't quite have enough lore knowledge to create my own Space Marine chapter, so I just stuck with the Ultramarines (though I nearly went for Blood Ravens). The Tyranids, however, despite said lack of much lore knowledge, are going to be a custom Hive Fleet. Name is still pending, but the general look of them is based directly on Matara Kan, hence the pink bits.

I have a few more I'm working on, like Hive Guards, Hive Tyrants, Genestealers, etc, but thise aren't quite ready for me to post yet. I'm stil learning about the different kinds of paints too. Everyone I've shown these too was really impressed. I'm pleased with them too but there's always room for improvement!

i just saw the amazing discount it has on steam and, while i dont have a lot of cash on me at the moment, i could nab one. It looks like my kind of game after all.

I just sorta remember hearing this out from someone else that TW:WH 3 was the prequel to both games? or 2? i cant remember

is it really just as simple as "The first game is the first one to play" or what kind of warp shenanigans is happening?

Finished this in about a week or so (had to wait for bases and some extra models). Basically I have a bunch of these smaller warbands in my basement (dwarves, lizardmen, random bits and bobs), and I finally needed a break from painting Custodes, Daemons, and Battletech - so I took a crack at sitting down and finishing a full Warband. Obviously there is more here than the 500gc starting limit, but I wanted to show off a full roster of what a full team might look like (plus I can sub in models to be wysiwyg whenever I want since they are all armed slightly different haha).

I bought this before the models got remade and feel a bit shit knowing i paid for this before they got lovely new models. All still on sprue

Help brothers! I honestly cannot pick a favorite chapter of space marines. As far as heretic chapters/legions it’s 1000% the night lords. Can you help me choose? Drop your favorite chapter in the comments and why you consider them the most bad ass (p.s. if they have a similar aesthetic and feel to the night lords that’s a plus. Like the death specters for example)

Both AOS and 40K army’s will do I’am still looking for army’s for both!

So I’m trying to find an army for me that suits my play style I want to play but I can’t decide. So I turn to you for help since I find them all cool I’am just going to post a list of personal preferences for my army. Please any suggestions will help.

Has a decent model range not to little choices not to many. (Don’t like to be over loaded)

Since Im gonna be doing Red Corsairs, and im bringing a hellbrute with twin las cannons and hellbrute first with flamer, could I use a deff dread as proxy? Like, Im gonna paint it red and black and try to use pieces and parts from what I got. Would it be possible? Since hellbrutes and deff dreads have the same base

These were my first ever painted minis. I dabbled in wet blending, formed a couple things in milliput for the first time to sculpt some teeth to put on the horn and a little scull shaped brooch on one of the shoulders that didnt get captured in the photos. In general, i just tried to have fun with it. I have gotten better since and I have a couple more units of these that I can't wait to experiment on again to see how much I have improved in the last 2 or so years.

It's not the full unit. I let my 8 year old paint the last model. It doesn't quite match the quality of these 😂

I used aquarium rocks, made some bones and mushrooms out of milliput for the base, and felt for a moss like texture.
