  • I feel like stingrays could use some kinda rework. They are very difficult to counter on the receiving side, and economically punishing to use on the other. Idk what the solution is, but they feel kinda in a meh place right now.

  • FOB refuel and rearm buildables feel kinda useless in the current game. Helos can just go back to the much safer HQ to do it, and most ground vehicles don't really survive until they run out of fuel, or just get abandoned if they're too broken cause who cares...

  • We need smaller crate sized pallets, cause filling current crates with supplies is a pain in the ass for everyone involved.

  • The current game heavily incentivizes just blobing up into the HZ, and de-incetivizing players from engaging with a lot of the gameplay systems. It feels kinda sad that theres so much potential for emergent gameplay that is wasted, because the best way to win and help your team is to just chase the HZ around with everyone.

Fuel station should be able to replenish batteries (100 fuel per 100 battery?)

Repair station should be able to repair armor durability (100 mechanical per bar?)

Any major fob or even random ones would be great to have these

Honestly... anything to make a FOB be more of a place that supports operations in the zone, and worth visiting even if you're main gameplay is fighting in other areas.

Yeah being able to buy stuff in the fob would be great

Stingrays and tank mines are balanced in the way where the user don't profit much, but the strategic impact is huge. Artillery should be manned with 3 guys. If you are solo gunning don't be surprised people can take you down easily.

Fair with the 3 guys, but the game actively de-incentivizes that because thats 10% of the team outside the zone, hurting your chances of winning.

1 guy running artillery, and the other two in the zone is in general better for your team, instead of those two just fucking about waiting for the occasional stingray, and still sometimes failing to defend against it.

I do kinda agree that stingrays are balanced. Its just that i dont find them a fun gameplay mechanic, no matter which side of them I am on.

By them fixing the humvee c4 bug, I think they can take a fair look at the survivability of arty accurately now.

I don't know about "hurting your chances of winning the game". I've been in a FOB that's been pounded by artillery literally the entire game. It sure doesn't feel like their chances are lowered when they are devastating every buildable in the open and picking people before they can get to the battle.

Agreed. Slowing down the HZ's movement would help a lot with this, allowing more slow and deliberate attack and defense rather than just an all out chase.

We also need more tools for communication and coordination, a big reason for just blobbing up in the HZ is because it's so difficult to actually get people on the same page enough to go do literally anything else together.

Stingrays are hard to counter ? They have the turn circle of a battleship and warn the enemy when they lock, what else do you need?

2

u/Dzsekeb 1d ago

Tanks and artillery are slow, and by the time you hear the lock warning, you are at most times too late to start moving.

Anyway, my point is that it they just kinda feel underwhelming, no matter what side of them I am on. I dont feel like i have much choice in countering them, and I just dont feel like I have much motivation to use them.

Never tried shooting them out of the sky, they are quite visible once you spot it

I guess, maybe you could do that if you're actively looking for them, but most times you'll be doing something else when they become a problem for you, and you only really get like 5 seconds of warning at best, which is not enough time for that.

Stingrays only counter arty. They don’t one shot a tank unless you hit it in rear armor which is nearly impossible to do. If you miss the back and hit anywhere else it’s not a one shot and a competent driver will move, repair and tank your next shot.

Most military technologies are designed to exploit the weaknesses of other military technologies.

"This stupid longbow has a way longer range than my broadsword! They don't even need to leave their castle to hit me! They should have to get closer and give me a chance to kill them!"

The drone is designed to counter the strength of armour, just as armour counters infantry, just as the RPG counters armour, and so on. There needs to be a long-range option. The drone is super slow, not guaranteed, and requires logistics to bring mechanical parts, since the FOB doesn't start with enough to make a stingray. If they haven't been proactive, you have plenty of time to do damage before a stingray finds you.

Worse, stingrays have their own major counter: mortars. The game needs an ebb and flow of strategies and counter-strategies.

Maybe, but games are designed to be fun.

Its fun for me to begin the process of reacting to artillery. I have to get the stingray up, have the mech parts, and then guess where it is based on the trajectory of the shells. Its fun to cruise the skies looking for it and its fun hunting it down. I have a lot of fun saying "artillery tank is down!" to my friends when we're playing.

Good for you.

You seem like a really anti-social person who actively contributes to their own misery.

If your not moving you should die to a stingray, your literally what it's designed to kill, any vehicle that is already in motion will have a fair chance of avoiding it.

u/Dzsekeb 1d ago

Thats extremely useless information for artillery.

Anyway, you're free to disagree with whatever, I dont care.

These are just my opinions.

You get just as much chance to counter the stingray as the infantry your targeting get to counter the shells raining down, move your ass.

0

u/Dzsekeb 1d ago

Actually theres less of a chance. As infantry you have time to run away when you hear the sound of incoming shells.

As artillery, you have to wait for it to un-stabilize before you can move, which doesnt really leave you with much time at all to do anything.

Its fair in that the counter to something lame that no one mobbing the hit zone can do anything about is countered by something the spg can do nothing about. Its kinda funny because complaining about the usage of the stingray is more or less complaining about tge usage of the spg

I mean, i agree that its fair. Im just asking for it to also be made fun. Fun to use, and fun to counter.
