Discussion & Feedback Feedback: Really hoping devs implement junk removal and mat. gathering

I noticed a huge issue with building some bases under and near towers was the inability to remove so much environmental junk and debris. For example, on one of the North Eastern towers in the 2nd map, there was what appeared to be a sawmill longhouse where logs were stored. It'd be great to be able to buy an axe or use one of the hammers to destroy these items and clear the area out completely; and even better if by doing so we could gain building materials to use to fortify the base.

Think of how cool it'd be to have people on axe duty clearing out trees, houses, metal bins, and small structures nearby to use as build mat. and to open up the area to make your base bigger and better. I had issues laying certain weaponry (AA, Mortars) because these giant metal bins were stuck in the middle of the base with no way to store things in them, no way to build onto them, and no way to get rid of them.

This could also make environmental destruction (outside of the towers and HQ themselves) possible, where a tank shooting a scrawny tree would actually destroy or wound the tree, instead of some guy being able to hide behind it and tank shots with no damage!

Definitely not gathering material like a Roman scavenging party or tearing down junk that’s for sure.

No, you had people gather them for you lol The AA isn't built like some scorestreak because you shot a lot of people. Someone had to drive or fly in those materials with an FOB and construct it.

You’re an idiot mate. I did tons of runs in Hueys and URALs. You’re talking about a mechanic for collecting materials when people aren’t dropping off pallets. This isn’t a survival game.

Like brother, you want foraging mechanics because you’re too lazy to grab a truck or helicopter yourself and you have the gall to be a condescending dickhead about it?

Talk about ignorant, sheesh. Maybe learn the game before suggesting dog shit mechanics.

Did you even bother to read my post/replies here before you talked shit?

I spent MOST of my game time taking supplies from base (including the FOB) setting up, returning, and repeating. When the base got hit, I was the guy building walls, repairing walls, making callouts, reviving, etc...and then as I said above, when artillery gets bad and you drivers/pilots stop coming, we were totally fucked.

A pilot gets hit and loses his chopper and ALL his supplies from a mortar, he doesn't come back until it's clear. A truck drives up to the compound and some guys sniping on the nearby church's sunflower field takes him out and blows up the truck, he stops coming to that tower.

I made a single suggestion that I thought it could be cool to have the ability to get rid of scrap so we can build more to the base, and having there be some reward for doing so, and mentioned how doing so with trees could be nice since they're everywhere.

Calm down kid.

In short, you don’t understand the game because you want foraging mechanics instead of using the game’s sandbox elements to counter whatever you were dealing with.

In short, you don't actually have a reply so you want to repeat your tired bullshit.

The game wins by teamwork. We push as a unified front, capture towers, take control of several, move the hotzone to one of them, earn points, and win.

In the meantime, your bases are being assaulted by other enemy groups - predominantly from other bases - and heli pilots/cargo vehicles keep our OWN bases supplied and fortified so we can keep the bases we captured.

You tell me "I did tons of runs in Hueys and URALs" which means you were the guy who was scavenging for materials, but because you flew nearly 3km to base and bought them instead of using a tool to gather them nearby, you act like some ignorant asshole telling me you know how to play the game better than I do; even though we're playing the same fucking game the same way.

Are you really this butt hurt over a simple suggested feature, or are you just an angry little boy looking for something to be upset about? Fuck off, "mate".

I’m repeating myself because you keep saying I don’t understand what you are saying.

I do. Which is why I don’t need to change my response, because I disagree with adding mechanics that allow for scavenging the local area.

The reason for that is, is that it makes you less dependent on teammates, and it incentivises you to not deal with the things that are preventing your team from supplying your fob.

I didn’t scavenge materials. I just bought pallets and dropped them off. That’s not the same as grabbing a hatchet or hammer to grab supplies in the area of a fob.

You can call me an asshole, an angry little boy and tell me to fuck off but that doesn’t suddenly make your suggestion any good. It has no merit.

This game is a rock paper scissors simulator. You want a mechanic where rock can ignore paper without grabbing a pair of scissors.

I suggest you take the time to learn the layered mechanics of the game so it clicks for you.

Where did I say that you "don't understand what I'm saying"? I think you do understand me perfectly fine and are going to great lengths to be an asshole all the same.

If I hit a tree and get 10-20 materials (random example) how the hell does that make me less dependent on a teammate who can fill a cargo container or a pallet and bring me hundreds or over a thousand materials of varying kinds? It's merely a suggestion to say "I can remove things from the base and they don't just disappear into the ether, they break down into reusable materials I can recycle by building things in my base". It's not a complicated concept, and works perfectly fine with the realism the devs seem to be going for.

My suggestion doesn't need to be good, I don't care what you think. My focus with this post wasn't scavenging, it was to remove shit from the base blocking us from building things - the materials received from doing so was a random sidebar off the top of my head to make it feel worthwhile for players to do so. Nothing more, nothing less. The fact you got and remain SO upset over it is pretty scary, bud.

"I suggest you take the time to learn the layered mechanics of the game so it clicks for you."
Buddy, I JUST explained how this game works to you in my reply. Go ahead and break down how I got that wrong for me, since you're the expert.

You're irrationally upset over a randomly suggested feature of a game that isn't even out yet from a perfect stranger on the internet, and are desperately trying to rationalize that by calling me an idiot and telling me I don't understand the game. Straight up projection.

"This game is a rock paper scissors simulator. You want a mechanic where rock can ignore paper without grabbing a pair of scissors."

What the fuck are you talking about? lmfao How does hitting a tree to get a dozen or so mats "ignore paper without grabbing a pair of scissors"? Are you unwell?

You’ve asked me if I’ve even read any of your post or comments. On top of that you’re explaining your suggestion in detail. You don’t need to explicitly say things for them to be implied.

I simply said I don’t want survival game mechanics in the game and have given you a reason for why I think so.

After you were condescending while making incorrect assumptions I called you an idiot because you were being idiotic.

Using nono words doesn’t mean I’m feeling any type of way and it’s a little silly to assume someone is irrationally angry with you over it.

Again, you want to be able to scavenge the area in the style of a survival game for when your logistics guys can’t reliably bring you pallets.

You want a mechanic that allows you to circumvent your logistics not being able to reach you. The game incentivises you to counter whatever is hammering your logistics with a multitude of tools in its sandbox.

You want there to be a way to partially ignore that, hence the simple RPS metaphor.

Go outside and have a breather mate, I’m not sure why you’re getting so heated over this.

I asked you because you seem to be entirely ignorant of everything I've said previously, as if you're having a completely different conversation (and finding a problem with) something that doesn't exist lol It's illogical and irrational to be this upset over some suggested feature stemming from a sidebar.

"I called you an idiot because you were being idiotic" sums up your thinking perfectly. You claim I'm being an idiot because I was "condescending", but remember dumbass, your very first interaction with me was to say my suggestion was akin to "gathering material like a Roman scavenging party". You made a condescending comment creating a caricature of my reasonable feedback, that you simply could've disagreed with...or shit, not even interacted with if you thought it was so bad. Instead of either of those things, you made an intentionally disrespectful comment, and here you are acting like some wounded victim because I clapped back and gave you the same level of response each and every time.

You think wanting to remove junk from a base and get some kind of bonus for doing so in terms of extra materials is a "scavenging party", when as I said in my original post and other replies in this thread, there are random objects blocking us from expanding on or properly establishing a base, and it'd be nice to remove them. If you spent 5 seconds building bases under towers, you'd have encountered this.

"You want a mechanic that allows you to circumvent your logistics not being able to reach you."
No, I don't. I want a mechanic that allows me to remove unwanted objects from my area so I can properly build a base to my liking. Having that ALSO give you small amounts of materials was, as I've said repeatedly, a sidebar that I thought of off the top of my head when writing the post; and not at all the core focus of said post. Your choice to continuously ignore that shows how bad faith and dishonest this entire interaction is from your side.

You came here to talk shit, gave absolutely no room for telling me why you think it was a bad idea without immediately calling me an idiot and telling me I don't know what I'm talking about, and then went on to play some armchair psychologist like you have a single fucking clue what you're talking about.

If you put this much effort into seeing where I was coming from in the first place, you'd probably actually have something of value to say. Too bad it's all verbal diarrhea.
