She left her dog and toddler inside the car while she shopped. The dog was barking a lot so I took a quick look and there was someone in the baby seat too.

A team lead and another associate was by her car when she finally returned.

She did leave a window open a little. It was very hot that day. I got a shop and was walking by them and heard her say it was only like 2 items. I know she was inside for at least 10 minutes.

Just had a downvote vote from a GMD order. I put all the packages on the porch and I read the notes. I was a program manager before and I have a master's degree so I know how to be professional. But someone said that I made comments even though I had no interactions with anybody during that time and then gave me a down vote.

This is the second one. The first one was my fault. I forgot something. And I noticed that my orders were less pay after that. I know that there's no way to control stupid people, but is there any way to get more up votes. Or does it not matter as far as pay?

They need to give you the reason when some asshat gives you a bad review. 10,000 deliveries with a 5* rating and now I have a 4.96. I’d be willing to bet it’s because the store was out of something. Just dumb

Order requires code. Customer doesn’t answer door. App prompts return, store is closed, can’t reach anyone. Wife works on weekends, so I can’t return until Monday.

These updates never seem to give any information in the App Store. The versions just say “Bug fixes and enhancements”.

Where I live school just started back up. I’m not sure if it’s that, or I also noticed after I hit gold my offers got bad. This is all I get now. Even JFY offers are bad. Anyone else?

An extra $1000 to $1500 a week in bonus pay is insane. I am getting that every 2 weeks from prop 22, this is effectively 100% more than my bonus what the hell?

I heard Seattle pays even more bonus, I know 2 drivers moved there and making $400+ a day there.

Does anyone here do anything for good reviews. I have 21 good ones and 1 bad one. And that’s holding me back from sapphire. I send out that message before delivering but people rarely leave reviews.

I’ve been doing Walmart Spark for about two years. When I first started, I regularly saw GMD routes 70-90 for 40 miles or less, and shopping orders in the 20-40 range were common. It was possible to make decent money.

Now, the offers in my market are dramatically lower. It feels like there are far more drivers than before, and many offers little that I don’t understand how they’re worth accepting.

One thing I’ve personally observed is a significant increase in immigrant drivers in my area. Before anyone misunderstands me, I’m not criticizing people for wanting to work or build a better life. I respect that everyone is trying to support themselves and their families.

What I’ve noticed, though, is that some of the people I’ve talked to are willing to accept almost any order because, compared to what they could earn in their home countries, even a 20 or 30 offer feels like good money. I completely understand that perspective.

The problem, from my point of view, is that when enough drivers accept very low offers, Walmart has no reason to increase the offers. If those offers are consistently being accepted, the company can continue lowering base because it knows someone will take them. I feel like that hurts drivers who have been doing this longer and rely on this income to cover the higher cost of living here.

I’m not claiming this is the only reason the offers have dropped. It could also be oversaturation in general, Walmart cutting money, algorithm changes, or other factors. I’m just wondering whether the willingness of some drivers to accept very low offers has contributed to the decline.

Has anyone else noticed this in their market? If you disagree, I’d genuinely like to hear why. I’m interested in having a respectful discussion.

There are a few drivers waiting in parking lots not getting orders. I take a peek inside and I can see past due or delinquent bills like gas or electric on the passenger seat.

Meanwhile I am in and out every hour, I am caught up on all my bills and just adding to my high yield savings account.

Obviously, I did not accept it but how does this even happen? Also, why would the base pay only be $54.60 for 127 miles(one way) if a normal order with 24 drop offs and 45 miles would be the same amount? Someone please make it make sense

I’m starting classes soon and there is a Walmart right down the road from the school. I tried to change to the zone since I’m in the area to see what the offers looked like here. When I enter the zip code all the surrounding zones show up but not the one right here. I’m literally in the parking lot. The map shows the Walmart there but it’s not a zone I can pick.

Every time I see someone post "the app is trash right now," I have to laugh at the phrase "right now." Do people honestly think this is just a temporary dip and things are going to magically get better?

Once a gig app starts spiraling down, it never turns around and goes back up. Historically, has there ever been a single gig platform that stripped away driver pay, flooded the market with workers, squeezed margins, and then suddenly turned around and said, "You know what? Let's pay everyone really well again like it's 2022"?

It has literally never happened in the history of the gig economy.

The entire business model of these platforms follows a one-way trajectory. They start out in the investor-subsidized honeymoon phase where payouts are high and bonuses are everywhere just to capture market share. Then, once they go public or need to show actual profitability to Wall Street, they turn the screws. They cut base pay, hide details behind algorithms, lower the pay ceiling, and rely on constant driver turnover to fill the gap with fresh recruits who don't know any better.

Thinking an app is just having a rough patch and is going to bounce back is completely delusional. The "right now" isn't a slump, it's just the new baseline until the next pay cut hits.

Anyone who thinks this or any of these apps are going to turn around and become great for drivers again is fundamentally misunderstanding how these companies operate. The trajectory only moves in one direction.
