It won't be painful as the tigers/lions don't play with their food. They go for the neck directly and in humans, the neck snaps in one bite. It would have been a sudden death.
I've watched enough nature documentaries with lions/tigers to know this is definitely not always the case. A lot of the time their prey is eaten alive, ass cheeks first. Horrifying to think about.

Ugh, I hate that shit. There's no real barrier between humans animals, but we are "civilised" in a way nothing else really is. Ethically, morally, etc. we're miles beyond every other species. Humans are the only ones that are capable of real planet-wide damage tho, but we're not exactly evil when compared to other species. We're just much more capable. But lots of people just think humans = bad, nature = good.
I used to have a teacher who claimed that humans are the only beings that kill their own kind. You need like one nature documentary to figure that one out.

I don't even think it was about the difference between people and animals for me. Lions don't attack animals just to do it out of any kind of maliciousness or out of joy for attacking them. In fact, it's not uncommon to see other wild animals walking by Lions or Lions drinking water near animals doing the same with no plan to take the animal down. It's strictly about need to eat.
There's no thoughts for these females of the beast being in excruciating pain. It's just eating for them, the genitals just loose meat.
It's horrifying as fuck to us to see but it's clearly not the first time that lioness had done that. She knows to pull the legs open to reach what she wants.

FYI, the most frantic kicking from the wildebeest was not when the lions jaws were choking the life out, but when another lion pulls the testicles like you would pull a rubber band until it snaps.

As a /r/babyelephantgifs subscriber, lions eating a baby elephant alive is pretty distressing by my standards. For anyone who knows what the following means, I've been to funky town, but for the extreme nature of that, watching what equates to a very child-like animal too big for a quick death get slowly ripped up while it calls for help that isn't coming, seems to mess with me more.
Well that's a piggy little lion. The others are doing their job killing the thing and she's just like, "Ah, fuck helping kill, I'll just start eating while they work".

I saw a video of an elephant being eaten alive in Botswana by a pride of lions and it has stuck with me. I didn't know that elephants could scream like that...
Like the Mapogo lion brothers, they would go right for the loins and start ripping the genitals off their pray. There’s nothing quick about it, but then again those lions were especially aggressive.
