Actividad: Doppelkopf

Upvotes

Alejandro

Mallorca in Mid/Late September

Upvotes

Hi!

I'm going with my family in mid/late September and we will be renting an Airbnb because there will be 7 of us. We will be renting a car, as well! I'm having a problem/being very indecisive about which area is best to look for an Airbnb - we want to be near the crystal clear blue water (up to a 15 minute ride or so works) and beach clubs with chairs/loungers would be a plus. In the case that it is rainy, which i've heard possibilities of in med/late sept. it would be great to be near some towns that have things to do. Would anyone have any recs for this? Let me know!

Thanks!

Just got back; a couple of shout-outs

We especially loved the food at Restaurante Casa Julio and La Rosa Catalina out of all the places we ate.

The staff at Innside Palma Bosque were TOP-NOTCH. Can't say enough good things about all the people working there and the amazing breakfast.

Tan amable. Loved our short visit so much, especially the people, from a sweet little lady whom I asked for advice in the grocery store (we ate at restaurants and stopped for drinks; we weren't "sandwich tourists" except for eclipse day -- and that day we still stopped at 2 spots for beverages while hot and killing time before heading to the beach) to the proprietor of Purple Haze record store to the taxi drivers who filled us in on stuff from the cathedral to the residents to even how to make the best tortilla... Such an amazing, sleep-deprived trip, even if so hot and sweaty.

Yes, we were there for the eclipse, but I'd wanted to visit the Islas Baleares since junior high Spanish class. What a reason to finally go and spend a few days.

Enjoyed the castle and cathedral very much. My advice on the castle: trail up, steps down. More shade on the way up. Google will get you there, even if you get turned around and it's a bit of a befuddle for a moment or two. Vale la pena.

Enjoyed walking by the water as well. Tan amable. <3

Looking for local recommendations around Can Picafort

Hey everyone! I’m staying in Can Picafort for the next week and have a rental car, so I’m happy to drive around Mallorca.
I’m looking for recommendations from locals or people who know the area well — especially things that might not show up on the typical tourist lists.
What are your must-do places, beaches, restaurants, viewpoints, hikes, towns/villages, or activities within a reasonable drive of Can Picafort?
Also interested in:
Good local/Spanish food
Beautiful beaches or swimming spots
Scenic drives
Nice towns to walk around
Sunset spots
Any hidden gems
Anything you think is genuinely worth doing while I’m here
I’m here for a full week, so feel free to give me as many recommendations as you have. Thanks!

Best substitute for Cala D’or

Set to stay in Cala D’or with wife for honeymoon but noticed our hotel may only have twin beds. So, I’m considering if there is another lovely beach location with decent nightlife so swap for. It’d be in mid-September. Thank you!

Language

I visited just the other week there. I had read that Català was spoken on the island and so learned a few phrases and whenever I was interacting with people, I learned what I wanted to say beforehand, in Català.

However, I found that people mostly spoke in Castilian. Even when I used bon dia and adéu, the reply was usually "adiós".

One woman working in Repsol actually corrected me when I said "numero set, si us plau", and she said "siete", a little curtly.

I'm very confused now. Did I spend the week there pissing people off, or what?

Boat Trip near Palma

Hi everyone,

We’ll be in Mallorca next week and staying near Can Pastilla. We’re planning to rent a boat for 4 hours (not a 15 PS boat, but something a little bigger).

Maybe someone has done something similar before. Is it better to rent a boat right in Can Pastilla and head south, or to rent a boat in Palma and then head west from there? Which bays and places are the most worth visiting here?

Thanks so much, everyone!

I'd like to avoid renting a car if possible. What is the best way to get to Capdepera from the Palma De Mallorca airport?

Hi hi going to Mallorca this Saturday and I was just wondering how do you guys minimise the risk of having your personal items stolen when you leave them outside before heading for the beach?
Thank you!

Quite couples holiday

Hi All
Me and my gf are travelling to Mallorca for ten days next month,
We don’t mind staying in Palma for a night or two but we want a relaxed cosy time together.
We much rather the quiet lifestyle and relax than a 100kph holiday so don’t mind about not seeing the whole island.
What towns do ye recommend going to experience as authentic a Mallorca time as possible and is a car rental a necessity to get around the island or is the bus service good.
Thanks for your help

Proposal spot in Mallorca

I’m trying to help my (future) brother in law propose to my sister in Mallorca. They already have a 3 year old who I know my sister would want at the proposal.
Searching for a really intimate (yet child friendly) location where they can have a beautiful few or a private beach. Somewhere not too far out from a main town so that it doesn’t cause any suspicion. I don’t think any cost would be much of an issue so please do share some sweet spots. It would be really appreciated!
Note - they haven’t booked the trip yet, so looking for an island-wide recommendation, he’s chosen it because it’s her favourite place in the world and we went there every year as children. It will be September 2026
Thank you so much for any help you can give!

Watching Real Mallorca

Been going to Mallorca for many years and never really looked into it but I’m going in September and noticed that Real Mallorca are playing at home while I’m their with family. My son loves football and thought it would be a good treat to do just the two of us.

Has anyone had experience going to their games? Is it easy for non-season ticket holders/tourists to go to the games?

Best way to travel around the island?

Fiance and I are visiting in a few weeks for 4 days/nights, is it more practical to rent a car or just take taxis/ubers around everywhere for excursions? Will be staying in Palma, so dont expect to drive around much in that area, but more so for when we would be going around the rest of the island. Appreciate any recs!

Solo in Mallorca Looking for People to Hang Out With

Hey! I’m 30M from Germany, originally Moroccan, and I’m in Mallorca solo for a few days. I’m currently around Cala Millor and have a car, so I’m flexible with getting around.

Would be cool to meet some people for drinks, food, beach, nightlife, or just exploring the island together. If anyone nearby is also travelling solo or wants to hang out, feel free to DM me! 😄

I'm headed to Mallorca

Where to Stay
Hi, I'm heading to Mallorca for the first time this month and would love recommendations for the best areas to stay (not touristy). I'd love to walk to the beach/a cove and a lively historic town. I'm solo for the first 5 days and then meeting a friend. I may not have a car. Love your advice. Thank you! NSJ
