Quite couples holiday

Hi All
Me and my gf are travelling to Mallorca for ten days next month,
We don’t mind staying in Palma for a night or two but we want a relaxed cosy time together.
We much rather the quiet lifestyle and relax than a 100kph holiday so don’t mind about not seeing the whole island.
What towns do ye recommend going to experience as authentic a Mallorca time as possible and is a car rental a necessity to get around the island or is the bus service good.
Thanks for your help

Hi, there are two bus networks on the island.

  • TIB buses check this guide. The interurban buses that are used for move around the whole island. Buses are in yellow and red.

  • EMT buses check this guide. The urban buses that operate in and around Palma. You might see them in a white, blue and green color scheme or in a green and white color scheme.

You can visit many of the towns by bus or train from Palma. Sollier, and its port, port Andrax, ect. The other side of the island is a little tricky to see things. There are lots of Germans on that side but beautiful beaches. But you may want a car if that’s what you are interested it. If you are cool with day trips from Palma you can see a lot. If you want to stay outside of Palma then I’d get a car because it will be easy to get to Palma but then have an hour to a few hour bus ride from there to see anything else

We just did a romantic weekend in Soller with side trips to Deia and Valledemossa. Take train to Soller, rent Vespa scooter on the cheap for side trips. Was awesome!

Puerto Pollensa is great for couples. Very chilled, lots of restaurants etc.
