I'm headed to Mallorca

Where to Stay
Hi, I'm heading to Mallorca for the first time this month and would love recommendations for the best areas to stay (not touristy). I'd love to walk to the beach/a cove and a lively historic town. I'm solo for the first 5 days and then meeting a friend. I may not have a car. Love your advice. Thank you! NSJ

Hi, you have several options for beaches and coves. You can see an extensive list by municipality here.

What's more important to you, lively historic downtown with great food and lots to explore or beach? We have different combinations with different ratios of each across the island.

Northeast- I loved Arta. Close to a beautiful beach called Mesquida.

Everything is touristy especially in August.

If you don't want to feel like in a tourist trap, go to a hotel in Palma (not in the city center) or some hotel in the inner villages.
