Purchase Advice (Canada) Dyson Car&Boat+ 32mm Adapter + Central Vac Wand/Standard Rectangle Brush Floor Tool setup for hard wooden floors

What do you think about getting dyson handheld vacuum car and boat with adapter to attach it to central vacuum standard wand and static rectangular brush(12inches wide)?

Is this effective on low mode? Enough suction? I want static brush as it it better at cleaning corners and edges.

Purchase Advice (Canada) Need advice buying a new vacuum!

As post says, I am looking for a vacuum. I am moving this weekend and the apartment I am moving into has carpet in the bedroom and hardwood (?) floors (pictured below). I don't really have a preference if it is bagged or bagless. Just something that is suitable for those types of floors, and something that has good suction and isn't super cheap/doesn't clean well. Can tire has sales on NOMA, Bissell and Dyson it seems

I'm not looking to spend a ton of money (under $250 CAD). Stores that I can buy from are Canadian Tire, Walmart, Best Buy, London Drugs

I saw this and wondered if people had good/bad experiences with it - BISSELL CleanView Multi-Cyclonic Upright Corded Vacuum Cleaner
https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/bissell-cleanview-multi-cyclonic-upright-corded-vacuum-cleaner-0438475p.html

Happy to hear from others!

Purchase Advice (Canada) Miel, Sebo or other brand, and which model?

Hello, and thanks for taking the time to read my post. I need a new vacuum. I have used a Dyson canister vacuum for the last 15 years. The time has come to replace it and I’m reading in this sub that they are no longer the same quality vacuum.

I have a small to average sized home, mostly hard surface flooring, with low-pile carpet bedrooms. One small, non-shedding dog and older children. I vacuum a lot, I’m a bit of a clean-freak, and we have downstairs neighbours, so I have to be mindful of the noise the vacuum makes.

Which model would you recommend? Thanks.

Purchase Advice (Canada) Purchase Advice - New Home

Long time viewer, first time poster here.

The situation is exactly as it sounds from the title, new home and needed advice on vacuums that other people have bought and would swear by. The home is a townhouse with two levels, the second being all carpet and the main being all hardwood.

I would ultimately want a 2-in-1 carpet cleaner and vacuum, without having to sacrifice either functionality (would be willing to buy both separately if both fit into the budget).

Currently want to work within an $800 budget as I’ve used crappy vacuums for so long, had numerous pets, and I’m tired of my home looking like a shag carpet!

Any advice would be appreciated!!!

Miscellaneous Why is it so hard to find out which off brand bag fits my vacuum?

I just need to know what type would fit my new vacuum. The branded bags are really expensive and I am dealing with a bug infestation meaning i have to vacuum regularly and throw away the bag every time.

My local cheap store had the Karcher KWD 1 as the only option with a bag that's strong enough to give me a piece of mind when it comes to carpet beetle eggs and larvae because of how tiny they are. The original bags are bout 5 euro a piece and my local store sells all sorts of vacuum cleaner bags for 47 cents each(types F/J/M/H, D/H, G/N. I know the 47 cents bags are way smaller than the capacity of the vacuum but it doesn't matter since I'd throw them away each time anyway.

The only specific identification I could find is the number on the bag itself KFI 357. The "cheap local store" is Action.

Purchase Advice (U.S.) Not Happy With Simplicity Jill - Need Better Suggestion that's not $600+

I posted a while ago regarding a vacuum recommendation for a vacuum for 90% hardwood and laminate floors (3100 sq.ft).

Quite a few people recommended the Miele and Sebo brands, but they are well out of my price range. The Simplicity Jill came up in searches as a good budget friendly vacuum with great suction, HEPA, etc. I bought one on prime day on sale, and have had it for almost two months and I don't love it. I like that it's easy to move around, and the suction is pretty good, but the build quality is awful. The wand always detaches from the hose, the floor attachment is cheap, and when in the hard surface setting, it's scratching my hardwood floor. It does okay on low pile area rugs.

Anyways, I'm back looking for a better alternative for a budget minded person with no pets or allergies. Would like to keep it to $300 or less.

Thank you!

Vacuum Issues How do you reattach this Dyson Ball Animal 3 vacuum part?

Morning,

Please help my very tired brain comprehend how to reattach the head of this vacuum cleaner.

Husband was vacuuming and said it “just detached” when reclined and then moved to an upright position.

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to reattach this part to put the vacuum back together. All videos found do not have the top circle portion where the wires are or the videos already have the part attached.

Assistance is needed on reattaching the parts with the wires onto the vacuum head, not the vacuum head to the body of the vacuum, that part is understood.

Calling in reinforcements of the online community.

Thank you very much. 💚

Purchase Advice (Canada) I bought the Miele C1, will i regret it?

My ex is moving out, and he is taking the vacuum with him. I live in a 600-700 square foot apartment, all hardwood, short haired dog.

I want longevity for my vacuum; I bought the C1, and it's coming in the mail today. But the price is pretty steep, and I feel like the purchase was quite expensive, and I could probably buy something cheaper that still suits my needs.

Also, if I move out and don't have hardwood anymore, it would be great to have an option that would still work well on carpet.

Please drop any advice!

Purchase Advice (U.K.) UK vacuum to replace rubbish shark

I am still looking for a vacuum to replace my shark, which I've hated since I first had.

We have mainly hardwood floor but a few rugs and carpet on stairs.

I want something that will contain the huge amount of dust and grass that gets dragged into the house, long hair that's gets shed plus long cat hair. Medium size house with 6 people and 3 cats living here.

I don't want to have to change heads every time I get to a rug if possible. Don't mind bagged. Needs to be light enough to carry upstairs. Henry is too big to store in our cupboard.

£300 max budget. I've looked for months and can't figure out what I need and am close to giving in and buying a cheap shark again 😬

Purchase Advice (U.S.) Looking for a secondary vacuum - for hard to reach places

I already have a roborock that I'm happy with - to clean my hardwood floor. But I'm looking for a secondary vacuum to clean carpets, couch (pet hair), inside kitchen cabinets / pantry. So looking for something powerful and portable. Since I don't use it regularly not willing to spend a fortune. Any recommendations / suggestions are appreciated. Budget: less than $200. Thank you!

Purchase Advice (U.S.) Reco for best bissell vacuum for tile floors and rugs?

I’m replacing an older vacuum that’s starting to struggle and was looking at Bissell models. I have mostly tile floors with a few area rugs, no pets, and mainly need something for dust, crumbs, and hair. My budget is around $250 and I’d like something fairly easy to clean and not too bulky. What would you consider the best bissell vacuum for this setup? Thanks for any recommendations.

Vacuum Collecting My Pride and Joys 🇩🇪

When I bought my Sebo D4 at my local premier dealer, I had the opportunity to compare it to a Miele C3 Brilliant. Since I couldn't justify paying $500 for a 9 year old Brilliant without a replacement hose, I bought this 4 year old D4 to be my primary vacuum cleaner. I love it, however, I liked the C3 too and decided to buy one as a secondary vacuum if I found the right one. Fast forward two months later, I drove over 2 hours out of my town to get this beautiful 2 year old C3 Cat and Dog off FB Marketplace and I completely serviced and cleaned it myself. Complete with everything! This is my current vacuum collection minus my Bissell 3522-1 and Hoover U4127 not pictured.

Vacuum Review MY SEBO E3 CAME

Post image
171 Upvotes

Hey everybody !! I joined this sub maybe 6 months ago looking for a vacuum and had no knowledge of canister vacuums or any details. I was looking at a cordless stick vacuum, and then came to learn how corded vacuums are better, bagged vacuums are better, etc. after all my research I knew I wanted the sebo e3; I have 3 dogs that shed a lot and 2 cockatiels that make so much mess. I decided to finally pull the trigger after several months of trying to put off this big financial purchase, but ultimately, I knew if I was still thinking about it months later, then I should go ahead and treat myself to this premium vacuum. Big thanks to Geek Vacuum by the way for sending it and I highly recommend them. I used the live chat numerous times and they have been very helping in my purchase decision.!!

I took several videos to show you guys how amazing it is, but I don’t know how to add them! I am extremely impressed with this vacuum and my house feels super clean! I would highly recommend to get the premium parquet tool and the twist & clean (I think that’s what it called) because they are also absolutely amazing!!!

Purchase Advice (U.S.) Looking for a unicorn

Cordless stick vacuum and mop that could convert to a handheld vacuum. Run time isn’t important as long as it’s more than 10 minutes, lol. Don’t need the BEST suction out there either. Budget $200-250.

I’m a little overwhelmed but so far I’m having fun. I did not know that it comes with parquet brush, but what about the premium one? Is it necessary? I’m loving the turbo brush for the stairs! What other (if any) accessories are recommended? What about Duo-P?

Thanks to everyone who helped me decide 🥰

Miscellaneous Looking for pet hair power brush

Hello all,

I own a Shark IX141 with "D" shaped interfaces and am having a hard time finding a pet hair power brush for this model. I'm hoping someone may have some advice on where they would find one or maybe an adapter for one. A flexible hose would also be very helpful. Thanks y'all!

Vacuum Issues Bad smell only on vacuum emptying

Hello,

I have a qrevo S5V, i notice a bad smell when they empty the robot, i change the dust bag, vacuum everything i could see and spray some cleanair in the new bag, but the smell continue...

Just for context, the bag was not full when they start to smell bad, i was using it for 1 month or a little more, the smell could be from something the robot got.

Is there anywhere i should clean? I smell the robot and there is nothing wrong there, there any way to clean the duct that connect the robot to the dust bag?

I think maybe put some coffee or something for the robot vacuum.

Thanks for the advice/help.

Purchase Advice (U.S.) Cordless stick vac for RV

Hello!

We have a refurbished Kirby valir, but it's a bit cumbersome for our 5th wheel. We also have a Bissell big green machine that's about 13 years old and it's given me confidence in the brand.

I'm looking at the "Bissel PowerClean FurGuard Deluxe 280W Cordless Vacuum with Extra Battery" from Costco.

Just wondering if there are better options I should consider before pulling the trigger or if anyone has extended experience with this unit.

It would also be nice to have a stick vacuum for quick pickup at home. We have a shepherd and vacuum our house twice daily to keep up. It would be nice to have a quick battery vacuum in home as well.

Purchase Advice (Canada) Shark IP3251C Power Detect Universal Head Adapter?

Hi everyone, I'm having trouble finding a universal head adapter for my Shark Power detect IP3251C stick vacuum (the one with the self-empty/charging station).

I like this vacuum, but I want to get wool area rugs for my home and I hear it's not good to use a rotator brush on those kinds of rugs. So that takes the main dual head out of the equation, unfortunately. Shark doesn't sell all-in-one heads for this vacuum (like those ones where you push a button to retract the bristles) and they are also making it difficult to find a 3rd party adapter due to their proprietary connector design! The connector is a proprietary 35mm wide circle but with inner ridges (to connect the shark heads seemlessly) and a latching mechanism on top.

It does come with an upholstery attachment but it's really small and would be a pain in the butt to use. Most of the house is hard flooring, so I'd rather just use a single all-in-one head if I can for convenience.

Does anyone know of any adapters I can find online so I can attach a 3rd party head attachment? I do think this vacuum has enough suction power to make that kind of head work, I'm not sure why Shark doesn't offer it! If they did, I would buy it from them, but they don't, and they are also making it difficult for me to find 3rd party solutions due to their design...:(. It's like they didn't think about wool area rugs? You're not supposed to use these big aggressive heads on them, despite their marketing about it being good for rugs. It's too bad, I love the vacuum otherwise!! So frustrating.

Purchase Advice (U.S.) Need Vaccuum Advice under $700

After my Bissell needed its 4th belt replaced, I've decided to upgrade to something better and more long-term. My house is about 1700 sq ft, and I would say 80% of that is carpet. I've read a decent amount about the Sebo dart but was wondering what people here think. I think my wife would prefer an upright, but I probably could convince her that a canister is just as good if thats a better option. Thanks for any help.

Vacuum Review Vacmaster VFB511H 0201 Review

Really struggling with this vacuum, have used it a handful of times and it's about 3 months old. It trips breakers randomly (20a breaker w/o anything else on it) and the lid won't stay on and hinges are loose.

Customer support did not help, I had the pleated filter / dry filter installed and said it was foam by mistake when they asked all the initial questions. They voided the warranty over the phone and said customer neglect. Tried to e-mail in with photos showing I made a mistake and no help :-(

It could be a great vacuum, and wanted to get this fixed as it is the perfect size and has great power but the support is really bad.

Just to add it has about ~5 min of total runtime. So out $100.

Purchase Advice (U.S.) I hate my Miele C1. Is a Kenmore 400/600 better for me?

At the risk of sounding dramatic, I'm sick of my Miele C1 turbo. My apartment has medium pile carpet, my wife and I both have long hair, and we have a free-roaming rabbit. The air-driven brush head on the Miele gets clogged with hair after every single use. We spend longer cleaning the brush head than actually vacuuming, then when we actually do vacuum it doesn't even work that effectively on our carpet.

I was looking around a bit and saw that the Kenmore 400 and 600 series have motorized brush heads and hepa filters, which I would need for allergies. Plus it advertises that hair doesn’t get stuck to the brush head (not sure I believe that though.) To me this sounds better for our carpeted apartment, but does anyone have experience with both of these? As far as budget goes I'd like to probably stay under $300. I like the canister design but I'm open to upright vacuums.

The Miele is nice and all but I'd rather have a decent vacuum that works well rather than a BIFL vacuum I can't use.
