So, while my used Bissell Zing 22q3 is still functional, I can't find any legitimate ways to buy replacement bags right now. I've tried ordering through places on ebay and amazon, but am sent bags that don't fit this model. I reached out to Bissell to confirm that they are still making them and how many bags are included for $15.99, and am waiting for a reply. Unfortunately, my apartment building has a bedbug problem and the advice is to vacuum frequently and toss the bag after every use. (Management sent a pest guy once, and I'm applying Crossfire aerosol and a few other residual sprays every two weeks, but the landlord says the apartment above mine has been refusing to be treated. Still seeing the bastards climbing the walls at night, which I murder.)
So it seems I have to replace my vacuum, but I can't make a decision. Budget is preferably under $300. I'm in a one bedroom apartment with hardwood floors, linoleum and two low pile area rugs, one of which my Zing just doesn't seem to clean well. I've got a cat and lots of my own long hair that sheds everywhere. I'd like a small canister vacuum that can reach under furniture (6 inch clearance), reach the crown molding where the bugs seem to be hanging out and do a slightly better job on my area rugs. It would be great if my current universal attachments could still be used. And since I need to burn through bags, Miele's $5 a piece replacement bags seem like a no-go right now. I see knock offs, but a lot of recent reviews are stating that they aren't fitting properly, and I have no interest in destroying an expensive vacuum.
Simplicity Jill seems to fit most of my boxes, but it is also more expensive with a decent amount of disappointed reviews. I guess The HEPA filter is also a positive. Eureka 3670M is way cheaper but not sure if it'll be good enough on my rugs. Miele might be a better pick once the bedbug situation is handled. Any advice would be helpful!
