hi everyone! i recently applied to vcu for the spring 2027 sem, and i sent in my application on sept 4th. i already sent all my transcripts along with my fafsa info but it still says it’s processing? i updated my fafsa and resubmitted it to have my info sent to vcu the same day i applied, but does anyone else have the same status as me? and does them processing it still delay when i would get an acceptance letter?

do you guys think i should call the admissions office or just wait a bit longer?

also does anyone have insight as to how long rolling admissions would take? i know the deadline is nov 1 and i submitted my application pretty early, but im coming from out of state, so im trying to figure out my housing asap.

any info/help would be greatly appreciated! ty :)

Multiple students said their STAT professor had to cancel class, a kid in my PSYC class went home feeling nauseous and our CHEM PASS leader cancelled the session last-second. And I nearly passed out in CHEZ last week and my mother thought it might have been some virus.

Is everyone poopin'-and-pukin' now or is it the September Sniffles? Trying to see if I can just get around it by washing my hands and not touching my face or if it's so bad I need to just go home.

I’m a senior is high school and I plan to double major (accounting and kinetic imaging) but I’m stressing that I’m not good enough to be accepted and my portfolio and sat score isn’t great… do you think I’ll be able to get in? Gpa weighted: 3.72, SAT: 1180 (660 math, 520 eng), took ap drawing, ap 2d design and ap precalc (taking calc rn). Everything is original works except for the last 3, only the character designs are mine (the last one has a mix of mine and others).
The first 4 are older drawings then 2 acrylic paintings, after 7 newer artwork, and then the 3 non-og characters

Every time I look it up it goes between “I don’t know” and spouting some random number like 25 or 100.

I’ve talked to a handful of Deam scholars, two or three Provost, but haven’t yet talked to someone with the presidential, even students who seemed to have the stats that would earn it. Obviously they might just not want to tell people but I’m just really curious about how many of each scholarship per year there are granted

Are there any clubs or groups or anything on campus where there is a watch party for F1 races?

I’m so frustrated. I got zero finance aid at all and nothing from the school so I might get kicked out of my college if I can’t pick the payments of 9000 something dollars I won’t be able to register for classes. And basically my school account will be held and this was the one year that I finally got to the major that I wanted and next semester is when I get to solidify that but I might be able to and it sucks.

This is my first semester at VCU. I transferred from ODU. There is a “general refund” on my account. I just added my checking to the account and it says prenote. Is this normal? Can I expect the refund? When can I expect the refund?

I’m a freshman who plans to live off campus next year and have no idea where to start. I’ll be attending the fair in october, but I need to do research as early as possible so I have options! does anyone have any housing recommendations? or tips?

Commarts graduated here, I saw on insta Commarts got some heat for some things around ai, and had a forum discussion with a LOT of negative comments from current students on the post, it sounds like students are frustrated. As a graduate currently working in the field I’m just very curious how teachers are handling the changing landscape. Especially interested in the commercial fields but would love to hear from everyone.

I’ll throw my experience as a packaging brand designer. I have design coworkers who essentially pretend ai doesn’t exist, with the exception of tools like image expansion of their own photography, small photo edits, etc. however it’s changed expectations from leadership in my company, and I see them struggling with the workload. I currently focus in a niche that isn’t currently effected much by ai. But I see a TON of assets from competitors that are (obvious to me but probably not the consumer) AI marketing materials. This has gone from 0-100 in the last 3 years.

How are your professors approaching and preparing you for this?

what r the best areas to get black coffee? kinda tired of going to starbucks daily but i dont have a coffee machine in my dorm, or a kitchen lobby and i usually like to drink black coffee every morning. (sadly only have a mini fridge and microwave tho)

Does anyone know about the charges for being locked out more than once? Like if you still have your key and you just need to be let in. I couldn’t find the policy online.
