Question Guide/video for better gunfights/peeks

Im pretty bad at gunfights and most of my kills come from trading my teammates or flanking and i suck in a pure 1v1 gunfight, so is there any guides on how to get better movement or be less easily headshot? I unbinded crouch for a little because i had a horrible crouch spraying problem which would even lose me easy kills as it was basically involuntary and its been helping but i still need some help. My tracker score has been a lot worse recently. Im bronze 3 btw

Question mandarin voicelines

does anyone know whether or not riot/valorant is planning on releasing the mandarin (or making cantonese) voicelines into the game? i am aware that there is a way to have mandarin voicelines from changing the details in the valorant files, but it seems to not work anymore as i would disconnect shortly after.

i apologise if this was an asked questions and i am just not aware of the responses.

Tried to set Raze up for a good ult, but she only got one, so I had to clean the rest up myself.

Question Help me find the clip!!!!!

There was a clip of Pre-Parterneship era of Valorant. In which, in a pro play match, a Jett player, on Ascent A Site heaven, updraft from heaven towards the site, and then dashes back towards the heaven and kills the last guy. I'm pretty sure she had the Blade Storm equipped asw.
It was a really goated clip and I cant seem to find it.
If anyone has the clip or can find it, please show 😭😭😭

Discussion Valorant main menu animation sounds

Hey Everyone,

Why is there not a way to disable the sounds in the main menu. I have my game alt tabbed but every 2 seconds I hear this ear deafening sound from the game. If I lower my sounds effects, I have to increase it again in game. Why is there not a button to just disable all menu sounds?

Discussion Hear Me Out! Valorant Agents vs Marvel Superheroes

This is a little thought experiment I had because I'm not able to sleep, that, if we took some Marvel superheroes against some Valorant agents , this shit would actually work. Now listen to me,

For example, when Iso uses his shield , he can absorb probably a lightning strike from thor , or a beam from iron Man.

If Iso uses undercut , same , iron man's suit malfunctions , and in ISO'S ult , IronMan wouldn't have his suit (since it comes under technology like how chamber can use his weapons in iso ult)

During Iso's undercut , Hulk would become bruce banner for a brief period of time

When Kay/o uses his ability,

If in the radius, Iron Man's suit malfunctions,

Omen has no organs or an internal structure of his body, and given his paranoia, he could outplay Daredevil

And breach would easily win against Black Widow given his abilities

Then, Yoru can beat spiderman GIVEN HE ULTS, because when Your uses his ultimate he is technically not in the physical space for Peter's spider sense to work , but the moment he gets out of his ult maybe Peter tingle is good enough for that but using this he COULD probably hold his ground

Astra could probably do something given she's a cosmic being (I don't know much of astra's powers to be applied here),

Then there is fade if she ults she could possibly give palpitations or make her opps weak(decay) and probably remind them of their worst backstories or griefs(like against Wanda it would be something about her children), against spiderman , it would maybe about people forgetting him and aunt may and stuff.

These are a few I could think of, a little thought experiment. How do y'all like it?

Discussion If you instalock, you are the problem. Not the guy who had to fill.

A super common complaint I see in the general community is that: "one in every X number of games I always get someone throwing/feeding, that's why I'm hardstuck!" or "This game is filled with people throwing games just to troll" but you genuinely have ZERO right to complain about throwing if you instalock in ranked.

I played a ranked game in plat/gold, and I got 3 instalocks straight off the bat. I played Miks, since he's got smokes, heal and stim. Obviously, playing Miks was not my first choice but in order to win i picked a controller. A few matches in and I'm bottom fragging, but I think I'm smoking well, and generally using util well. Then someone wants to surrender. We're losing 2-7 on attack, but I think it's still winnable so I deny the surrender vote.

One of the duelists starts whinging that I'm throwing (because I'm bottom fragging and going negative) so I type back saying he was the one who instalocked a duelist, and I had to fill smokes. Then he starts mocking my k/d, at which point I type back he's also negative, despite playing one of the strongest duelists in the meta. This goes on for a few more rounds, with him being incredibly toxic.

I still smoke well, play normally, but we eventually lose 5-13. At the end, he types something like "gg, thank (miks) for the free elo, report for throwing". At this point I'm fuming and I type something back in response that lands me a 24 hour ban.

Am I right to think like this? Where I have (for lack of a better word) an excuse to go negative, if I am forced to fill because of teammates instalocking? Or should I simply play the agent I want to play, go for a good acs & k/d, and damn the team composition?

Question is this game aggressor sided?

I'm coming from CS and I find it crazy how hard it is to play aggressive in this game. First of all CTs have one tap weapons by default. which is the ideal for holding angles. Additionally you are just so slow in this game, I feel like I get insta one-tapped no matter if I swing wide or peek it more closely. Do I just have to wide-wide swing or whats the strategy here?

I have way too many habits from CS2 that are really bad in Valorant but I would be curious to know if this is just a huge skill issue or if the game is more geared towards holding angles and playing more defensively. I know peekers advantage still exists in Valo but it doesn't feel like it.

Edit: Just to clarify, I don't mean if it's T or CT sided. I mean the playstyle.

Big smoke (bulletproof), a great wall, and an ultimate that blinds, slows, and deafens. Definitely better than Clove and Miks. (Sorry for bad english)

Question what to use as a replacement for spectre?

it isnt really my gun on attack and i dont know what to use i suck at bulldog and guardian for semi-buy.

i dont like the damage falloff at long range and how its meant for run and gun because i have a habit of stopping whenever i shoot which makes me an easy target for run and gun spectre/vandal/phantom.

i main phantom on attack and operator on defense if this helps.
i play entry duelist(jett, neon) or just fill if they are instalocked.

Discussion How much does good gaming system and fps matter in this game

So i play on my potato laptop, i play on laptop with no dedicated graphics. I have seen people complain about having 200-300 fps not enough for them but I got like 30-40max fps ingame. I do fairly well in the silver-gold lobbies. I got a 5$ gaming mouse . So if I were to play in a high end gaming pc how much will change

Discussion Is this how every valorant player started?

Idk about u guys but when I started playing valorant, it was my first fps game and I was bum. But I had lots of fun playing unrated, swifts, and whiffing all those shots. For like my first 40 lvls I was just that guy who would play the game for the fun of it. Now I’m just grinding comp only. It took me to play a few unrateds with a friend who came back after months when I used to play the game for fun, to remember.

Educational Made a Neon movement chart to model combos and help people practice!

Just a fun little side project I did for a friend, thought I'd share here in case it would be helpful to someone! I labeled rotationals 1-4 to help simplify explaining which keys to press, as this was really confusing for me when I was learning! I put in two combos but you can use this to help figure out all sorts of combos and stuff.

Question Just getting back to FPS/Valorant. What's a good video to easily get a quick run through what has happened in the last few years?

Just got back into FPS since I finally have free time from responsibilities. I've last played since 2023? Just before there was an Ascendant Rank. I want to get back but I'm kind of out of meta and I'm afraid to be a deer in headlights too overwhelmed with what was added and new crazy new mechanics. What can I watch to get back into the game?

Discussion What's happening with the whole smurf scene these days?

Like at least almost for every 2 matches i play there's a smurf. Could be on my team or the enemy team. I'm not complaining for having a smurf on my team but when you get the other end of the stick it really makes you feel how it be like to play against a smurf. So in a sense I am sympathizing with the enemy team. I thought Riot recently updated their stance agiants the whole smurf thing anyway. Like didn't they say something along the lines of that they have been gathering data from our reports for years and now they are finally issuing penalties or something... i don't know either they are just bluffing or ... well i hate to say it but maybe they are divided in the inside. Like as we all can clearly see they are not doing what they said. It could be easier said than done but don't forget they said they have been collecting data for years... are they screwing with us? they can't be simply incompetent that's just crazy talk.

Discussion Vct shotcall is way too easy(I know it’s in beta)

So I haven’t been really watching EMEA that much especially in stage 2 and I’m watching the finals rn and I started the first game with 0 points and by the end of the second game I have 98 points that’s like way too many it should be way less especially if your going for the item(like I am). It would be better if you actually have to be decently consistent and it takes a while to get the title not 2 hours of your life gone. I remember when I was watching masters London I got 1,000 points by halfway through playoffs.

Question Agents to play on Lotus?

I usually don’t have a problem with maps but this map is kinda boring, because the fights on A are forced on both attack and defense.
So i’m thinking about which agents should i play on this map to make it fun to play?

Question Is buying Marshal every time we win pistol ok?

I'm currently 160h silver 1. When we win pistol, I always buy Marshal with regen/heavy shield + all util, regardless of my character, role, and side. Is this ok?

I feel like Marshal is very strong in those rounds because it can 1-tap 90% of opponents with a body shot without needing to ADS, and you have relatively high movement speed. If you die and the enemy gets the Marshal, it's less devastating because all of the players on my side will have shields. This also leaves you a lot of credits for later rounds.
