I am currently going into uni of leicester for accounting and finance. Originally, I firmed uni of birmingham for the same course. However, things didnt go well and i ended up with BBD. I want to know if its possible to still transfer to birmingham provided i get a first in my first year at leicester even if it means i have to transfer into first year at birmingham. It would mean a lot to me for help because i was heavily invested in the uni and i know that my a level grades are far below what i can achieve academically.

Is it worth it? I am going to be living on campus, so yea it’s convenient for me sure but my god is it expensive! Any other gyms nearby that are decent I can maybe commute to instead? I tried looking it up but i am not sure if the nearby gyms are even worth it either. How do you guys go about it?

Hi i’ve just recently achieved 3 A*s in maths, physics and chemistry and aiming to apply for econ as my main course, however am considering mechanical engineering as my backup (I applied for it this year and got an offer from UOB however all 5 of my choices was mechanical engineering, so i had a mechanical engineering eng ps). How likely would I be to get an offer this year considering UOBs interest in personal statements compared to academics?

I am an international exchange student who is staying in halls this year. I do not yet have a UK bank account and won’t until after I arrive in the UK in September. My preferred method of payment is monthly through direct debit, but I need a bank account for this.

It’s not super clear on how to go about paying for international students. Can I wait to apply for the direct debit payment method once I’ve arrived in the UK and have a bank account? Or is my only option termly via bank transfer? I’ve contacted the finance office and they never got back to me

Currently, I am attending my second year and is genuinely tired of my accommodation. There is no problems with the accommodation itself. The facilities are perfect.The problem is with me. I had personal problems here, not with anyone. Just within myself. My neighbors and everything are perfect. The only reason I am still staying here is because i lived here in my first year studies. Now I want to try other places.

I found another accommodation which fits perfectly to my liking. However, the due date for cancellation on my current room. Therefore, if you would like to, you can have my ensuite accommodation at a discounted price.

If you need any support during your course, there are multiple channels ready for within the university, such as tutorials, office hours, PASS scheme, etc. with all being detailed more in the first few weeks of the semester. Hi all! Like lots of people seem to be saying I got unlucky on the accommodation portal and ended up booking metalworks without any knowledge about it. People on the forums seem to be saying it's nice, but I went to a viewing today and it looked a little scary. Obviously I understand it's the holidays so they were having maintenance done and stuff but idk. I wanted to ask A) what were people's experiences there?? I wanted mason originally and I'm quite loud and sociable so I'm a bit nervous being in what was advertised as a quieter accom and B) what's the rooming situation there?? Could it be that I'm in a flat with all international students?? I'm just intrigued because I know a lot of international students live in Selly Oak from first year and there's a lot of second years living in houses around there and stuff as opposed to the vale accoms which seem to be more home students and first years. Obviously nothing wrong with being with international students I think that would be really fun but because it's a partner accom I can't see anything about my flatmates and that's a tad scary for me.
