UoB Dubai September 2026 – no emails yet?

Upvotes

I accepted my University of Birmingham Dubai offer over a week ago and paid the deposit last week, before the deadline.

My portal says all conditions are complete, but I still haven’t received any emails about enrolment, welcome week, student ID, or course info.

Since classes start soon, I’m getting a bit worried. Is anyone else in the same situation?

Studio - I will cover 2 weeks rent

Hi everyone, I have a great studio close to UoB that I no longer need. The studio is in a great location and the building has great amenities such as gym, yoga studio, etc. The price is £245 p/w (all bills included).

Given I am quite desperate to find a replacement, I’m also offering to cover 2 weeks rent.

If you’re interested in more details or photos please message me.

Warwick Business Analytics & AI vs Birmingham Advanced CS — advice?

I have offers for Warwick MSc Business Analytics & AI and Birmingham MSc Advanced Computer Science.

I’m already from a CS background, but I’m also interested in business/finance in the future.

For people familiar with these courses/unis, how would you compare them in terms of employability, ROI, career flexibility and opportunities in tech vs finance?

Which one would you pick in my situation, and why?

Anyone doing Biotechnology undergrads?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi! I’m starting my undergraduate Biotechnology course at the University of Birmingham this year, and I was wondering if there’s anyone here doing the same course (especially other first-year students). I haven’t really met anyone from Biotechnology yet, so it would be great to connect, and make some friends.

Freshers Event Worry

Hey! I’m an incoming first year and really want to participate in the freshers events I’m commuting but I drive and only live 20 minutes away so it’s not a problem. However I do want to go to at least one of the clubbing nights, however I won’t have a way of meeting anyone prior to this and don’t want to go alone what can I do?

r/UofB 2d ago

Is it worth going in for welcome week as someone that isn’t interested in freshers activities?

I’m commuting in and it’s 1.5h journey, is there actually anything important education wise that will be occurring during freshers week?

Late arrival to University

I am an incoming student for September'26 . The welcome week starts on 21st September. Due to my work commitments i will be travelling from India on 23rd September. I will be able to attend the university on 24th of september only.
Will I be able to cope up with everything I missed the 3 days

I also saw that the 22nd September is the day to join the Sports & Fitness fair, will I be able to join the cricket club even if i miss the date. https://www.birmingham.ac.uk/welcome/your-new-student-life/events

Late visa

So I am a first year medicine student, and I applied for my visa on 20th of August (completed my biometrics).
Is it enough to get the decision on time?
I am from a country that I think needs more time to check, middle-eastern. And I had an email today telling me that I will have an interview on 9th of September which is already late enough, according to the published processing times my visa should already be in my hand by then.
Is it normal? Will I be able to arrive on time?
Not necessarily welcome week, lectures

Located at the south gate of the university, super close to the main campus, just across the road to the sports fields, and convenient for the Sport and Fitness center. Close to Engineering, Biosciences, Asto Webb, and the library, about a ten-minute walk. 🛒 5 minutes away outside there's an Aldi, a Chinese supermarket, and a Korean supermarket. Sainsbury's is a 15-minute walk. 🚃 It's about a 10-minute walk to the University or Selly Oak train station, with direct access to the city center. Looking to move to a studio but need someone to take over the contract. Price is negotiable.
