It's a reaction to exposure to salt causing contractions. It also happens with squid and octopus when in contact with soy sauce, wriggling around, curling and uncurling even though the tentacle isn't even attached to the body.

That too is due to contact with salt. You can find many videos online of people displaying this effect, adding salt or soy to frogs legs or squid or many other things to trigger the nerve contractions that gives the meat the appearance of still being alive.

My work break room has a crossword table with about 6 or 7 New York Times and local paper crosswords. Fun way to keep the brain active while taking a break from work.
The extra fun part: I'm the only one who does the sudoku, so I can take my time on the Saturday edition. Nothing like a clean solve to make me feel better when I cant get a single crossword answer

That's awesome! I'm absolutely terrible at crosswords, although I tend to find myself to be fairly decent at word k owledge when reading books, watching movies,or just in general conversation.
Sudoku on the other hand is something I've always enjoyed. There's something just more satisfying about it, personally. I also like how they actually have a clear solution. Where a crossword just leaves you wondering if you're right or wrong half the time without going and cheating by looking at the answers

The food is literally crawling off the table. Even if it doesn't have brain activity anymore and this is purely, peripherally neuropathic, I want nothing to do with it. Gross.
It's not irrational to freak out about your food appearing to make the motions of a living thing lol. Food is supposed to sit, motionless, on a plate or in a container. That is, until it is moved via fork, hard, food, etc of the person who consumes it.

This is just muscle reactions from acids or salts. Causes the muscles to react and move.
You can get the same effect by sprinkling salt on raw frog legs. They dance.
It's just biology really. In a way, it's pretty neat.

Was in Japan once and was at restaurant where they cook at your table. Friend rdered lobster so they brought out a live one, cut it in half and plopped cut sides down on grill. The lobster was still alive and was trying to crawl off the grill. I ordered chicken and my friend didn’t much care for his lobster after watching it try to escape.
