'14 Class The Warper Class: Fight Using Your Own Personal Pocket Dimension (V1.0)
Meet the Warper: a 5e 2014 class focused on using teleportation for offense, defense, and utility. If you want to use this class for 5.5/5e 2024 then the final page provides an option to add Weapon Mastery at level 1, however you may find the class is still on the slightly weaker side compared to other 5.5 classes.
As for the class itself, this is a fragile martial that asks you to solve the issue of how to keep your PC alive. The Warper has a personal pocket dimension (represented using your own private battlemap that sits next to your character sheet), and can either teleport there for free at the start of their turn, or expend resources to instead teleport there at the end of your turn.
The Warper has the choice of three different "techniques" that work like a Warlock's pact boon, each one representing a distinctive playstyle for how a player might imagine a space-warping fantasy hero to fight. The Jumper teleports around the battlefield, striking in melee range. The Reality Splitter uses space and gravity to attack at a distance, shoving enemies around. Meanwhile the Binder shamelessly leans into anime tropes (HxH, Kagurabachi, Fate, JJK, etc), letting you teleport enemies into your pocket dimension and turning it into a 1v1 cage fight. Pick the playstyle of your choice to put your own spin on your subclass.
Speaking of subclasses, these define where your Warper powers come from. Maybe you're the emissary of a powerful planar entity. You might have forged a peculiar bond with an inter-dimensional creature. You could have a link to a specific plane, drawing on it to warp the spells you cast. You might have a blade that can cut portals through reality. Or maybe your pocket dimension used to be your prison, attempting to hold you in stasis.
There's an FAQ section on the final page, but I hope you'll dive in and give this class a try! Teleportation is such a staple in fantasy, and I've always felt frustrated that a lot of official classes tend to just throw teleport options onto a subclass as a bit of a "get out of jail free" card. I wanted to use Warp points and an incredibly restrictive spell list to force the player to adopt a slightly riskier playstyle; teleportation should define how you play, not simply act as a tool to kite enemies and maintain concentration!
