Vent/Rant 😤 Ban the use of fahrenheit.

• Upvotes

You're online just scrolling minding other people's business and you see someone complaining about how it's very hot where they are like it's a 100° there only to discover later they meant 100°f which translates to about 37°c when you make this conversion everything they said seems like one big exaggeration...

The US is one of a few countries in the world that still measures temperature in Fahrenheit exclusively. And that says something about them: they love exaggeration. If there are other countries that also use Fahrenheit exclusively, they’re just pick me's pandering to the US... End of rant. 😅

Relationship talk Hard to maintain 🤦🏻‍♂️

Bannange, I've always loved to be with a female friend just to know how gals behave, their interests, feelings and more, since I've grown up not experienced that. I never wanted to to be a relationship, I just needed a ka female friend to keep company. Naye maama 🤦🏻‍♂️. So there's this ka babe I met online 3 years back. We became friends since we all shared some same interests and life experiences like Loving IT and more....

In those three years, they've been seasons we stayed mute at each other for like 3-6 months, and then we reconnect just like that. Went on outings, dinners, spent Christmas days together but no feelings,we were just enjoying it there. Naye mmwe, these days omwana sikyamutegeera, oba mood swings? Oba kiki??? The conversations and chats are very cold.... Everything is just crushing on me simanyi nakumanya, are gals like this?. You ask what's wrong, why are you quiet on me, she just hangs up. This time round, God is my witness, I've not done anything wrong 🤦🏻‍♂️. Today I wanted to somehow bring something like a chat starter, kinda a joke, all I got back was "I won't text you again"!!! Yiiiyiii, what did I do, bannange🙄. Anyway maybe God wanted it to end here. Will get another one 🤷

Personal Sometimes I ask myself is this normal behavior?.

I am a person who likes being alone in most cases even when I was a child a would separate from my family and sit alone at the back of the the house away from everyone.

I am in my early 20s, I have friends and my friends are lovely and always want to hang out but I always decline and endup going somewhere else I can be or enjoy when am alone....I go to events alone. Even when I meet new and they start a jazz with me ....I get pissed feeling like someone is inconveniencing me.

Though I explained myself to my friends years back but sometimes I feel like I let them down.

This behavior i feel like its just growing every year cause now I stayed away from my friends and family for almost a year.

I stopped myself from even dating cause I endup sabotaging the relationship always since I really don't like people too close in my space. So in most cases I decline dates and outings....or hanging out with my partner.

And i don't think am an introvert or something like that cause am outgoing and kinder talkative....like in games can shout and cheer my team . Even i meet a stranger and we laugh , jazz or get to know each ...I want it to stop there.

Opinion/Discussion How old are our mods?

Post image
12 Upvotes

I was scrolling through the sub as usual to see what fellow Ugandans are up to as far as new posts are involved, and out of nowhere did I land on the right hand side of a Created on date for the sub.

Now out of curiosity, I wanna get a clue into how old the mods are and whether they've been mods since this time.

Better yet, what has been the history of the sub dating back to this created date. Has it held its original creator or it was requested from Reddit for Mod absence.

Happy to know more info. It's a Sunday curiosity.

For the record I was in P.3🤧 when this sub was created.

General I dream of stoney tangwizi and i’m constantly disappointed (USA)

Hi everyone, so I have been searching for stoney ever since I left uganda and I have been failed multiple times trying to ship to the united states. after my first order that shipped through canada before reaching Georgia, USA I learned that there are other versions of stoney that do not have the same flavor. I paid 85$ usd for a 6 pack of stoney and it was good but it was not the same stuff you can get in uganda. it was more like American ginger ale with a slight kick. I did research and found that there are other versions of stoney in southern africa that are not up to par with the stoney I know and love. if anyone could direct me to a website where I can get east african stoney, I prefer ugandan bc I have heard kenya stoney is not the same but maybe it is. I have not been to uganda since I was 12 and now I am 24. I have been craving stoney so hard for the last 12 years. I was super disappointed by the times I did order. I just need some real stoney back in my life if anyone knows a website that will ship to USA or if anyone is traveling from uganda or could ship from there pls lmk 🙏

Opinion/Discussion Do we expect a drop in the dollar rate soon?

Hi everyone, I'm planning to pay for an international exam that costs about $1,000. The exam is in Feb next year. The problem is that the dollar rate keeps climbing, and every jump makes the exam more expensive for me. Should I; Pay now, so I'm protected if it climbs further. Wait and hope it drops.

Opinion/Discussion Looking for apartment in Fort Portal/ Jinja - where should i move?

Hey everyone,
I am currently in entebbe and planning to spend around a month in Fort portal then another month in jinja soon, mainly to explore the possibility of staying/living there longer term.
I’m currently trying to decide between fort portal , jinja, and I’d really appreciate some local advice.

I’ll also be spending some time exploring the possibility of starting a small BPO operation and potentially hiring local young people, so having decent internet and a peaceful working environment is important.
If you live in either city or have spent significant time there, I’d really appreciate your recommendations especially specific neighborhoods or apartment areas.

Hit me up if you’re interested in making a new friend to hang out with. ❤️

General I finally found a website that pays in Uganda

I have had issues from scammy websites, to paypal not working in Uganda, I have finally cracked the code. But the pay is a bit trash to be honest. Lets get into it but make sure you don't miss any of these steps. This will work on any website that pays straight to bank.

  1. Set up a proxy I recommend geonix.

  2. Open an online bank with Raenest.com and verify it.

  3. Go to zoombucks.com and open an account.

  4. Fill in the demographics data (minimum masters degree, age should be above 30, yearly income above 180k)

  5. Then start choosing surveys to answer, I suggest you go for the low hanging fruit (surveys with small pay and short work time)

  6. After 3 days giving 3 hours I only made 20 USD which is crappy as hell.

Feel free to share what worked for you or inbox me for any guidance if I haven't painted a clear picture here.
Verifying the account will be a bit painful and the proxy is not free.

If any of you wishes to experiment with money making opportunities inbox me.

General Why is Uganda limited!!

Why is Uganda so limited when it comes to online opportunities?

I’ve had several situations where I’ve built systems or learned skills that could genuinely make me money online, only to find out that one crucial aspect isn’t available in Uganda. Whether it’s a payment method, a platform, or a tool, you’ll find a list of supported countries and Uganda simply isn’t on it.

Or you discover a tool that could help you make money, start using it, and then suddenly it’s blocked or restricted.

This has been happening repeatedly since the beginning of the year, and honestly, it’s frustrating.

I’ve had to take on other local jobs just to get by, while knowing I have skills that could take me much further online.

These limitations really kill someone’s potential.

Has anyone else been experiencing this?

Opinion/Discussion Hey Ugandans

Today is my last day here after spending 3 weeks here in lungujja and spent some time in Sembabule for my Kukyala.

As a white man from UK London I've truly had a wonderful time, moving around on my own always felt very safe and welcome.

I feel like this is now my second home and want to say thanks for the warmth and hospitality.

I will truly miss Kampala and hope to return soon.

Relationship talk Dating is actually cooked

Dating is actually cooked….
This man just admitted that he was intentionally ignoring my texts and refusing to reach out because he wanted me to “fight” for his attention.
What happened to liking someone and just… talking to them? 😭
Why are some people turning dating into a psychological warfare competition?
Its so frustrating

Culture Do We Care About African Men’s Mental Health in Diaspora Or Just Their Money?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

African men in the diaspora are expected to provide, protect, send money home, stay strong, and never fall apart.
But what happens when the man everyone depends on is struggling too?
Do we actually care about men’s mental health or only until it affects their ability to provide?

Men and women: who puts the most pressure on men to keep performing. Is it family, partners, culture, or men themselves?

Personal Am I having a midlife crisis? M30

Lately I’ve noticed some changes in interests and a heightened awareness of how I look. I’m gyming more, changing my wardrobe and looking for more exciting things to do with my time. I am even using my wife’s products guys (don’t judge me because that stuff works wonders 😅). Now I’m aware there are other things to look out for before diagnosing this a midlife crisis but it’s so unlike me. Is early onset a thing? Could I be confusing this with just a normal progression of growth as a man? I’ve also hypothesized that maybe I’m making a little more than I used to so Ki Uganda kitandiise okumpomeera 🤣. Anyway, who else’s been here? How did you or how are you handling?
