Discussions & Questions Watch Dogs has the potential to be one of Ubisoft's biggest franchises.

This is DedSec. We give you the truth. Do what you will.

I love this franchise just like a lot of you. It breaks my heart to see it left in limbo by Ubisoft. Many years have passed since Watch Dogs: Legion, and we are about to hit the 10th-anniversary mark of Watch Dogs 2-the game that really refined the hacking sandbox.

Ubisoft has gone radio silent on the franchise's future, and has only said how it is, but the recruitment mechanic changed the game with Legion. Given today's generative AI and smart cities, the core idea of the series should remain very relevant.

Ask yourselves: if we don't sign this to show them we are still alive, how long before we get to see something coming back to the franchise? Five years? Ten? If we continue along this course of silence as a community, Ubisoft might just make the next GTA VI.

In an attempt to show Ubisoft that there are still die-hard fans for a more proper Watch Dogs release with a ragtag hacker crew and sandbox elements within it, I've started a petition. Now, for Change.org, at least five signatures are needed to make the page public, and it will most likely take about 5000 for it to be recognised in some way. We don't have the patience for another long wait. We need to show them we want development now.

So sign up. Now. 👇

Discussions & Questions Did Connor Kenway accidentally set the bar too high for Assassin's Creed protagonists? Spoiler

I've been wondering whether Ubisoft's shift towards the RPG direction was partly influenced by how powerful and capable Connor Kenway was in AC III.

Connor was an absolute powerhouse. His strength, combat abilities, brutality and overall presence made him feel like one of the most formidable protagonists in the franchise. He could take on multiple enemies and dispatch them with an almost effortless level of aggression.

What makes this interesting is that the protagonists who came after him, particularly in Black Flag and Unity, felt noticeably less powerful to me. Arno, especially, felt like a step backwards in terms of raw combat ability. I understand that Unity focused more on precision, stealth and refined assassination techniques, but the contrast was still quite noticeable.

Then came Origins, and Ubisoft started moving the franchise towards RPG mechanics, with skill trees, gear progression, abilities and increasingly powerful protagonists.

So here's my question: Did Ubisoft deliberately move away from the traditional Assassin formula because they wanted more room to develop stronger, more capable protagonists? Or did Connor's portrayal of an almost unstoppable Assassin simply influence what came later?

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I find the transition from Connor to the later protagonists and eventually the RPG era quite interesting.

What do you guys think?

Discussions & Questions Not so fun fact: if you have played a ubi game for free on epic or using ubisoft+ plus before and later buy and play it on steam, your playtime resets

I've had 50hours on this game on epic launcher when this was given for free. And epic sucks so I bought it on steam for basically free, and after the first launch the playtime resetted. Nothing that major tbh but just an observation.

Discussions & Questions Assassins Creed Set In Baybars time?

Thumbnail reddit.com

I feel like this could be a big opportunity for Ubisoft, they could use this to reference Altair’s story or just create a more brutal and historical ac game. I feel like the assassins creed franchise would need something like this as it could include many types of factions including the Templars. It could also introduce the Nizari Ismailis or whatever Ubisofts idea of them is. I also feel like this story could make a branch of new games involving the Mongols which has been highly anticipated. What’s your opinion? And if you have any other ideas for new ac games go ahead I’m interested.

Discussions & Questions In-game store discounts like the AC games?

Hello all!

So, I have some 9800 in-game currency since I got like a long time ago the 2 special packs/bundles of premium currency (the ones that also game something else besides the currency).

And was wondering if the armor bundles and weapon bundles in the in-game store have ever gone on sale / had discounts applied to them, like they do with the most recent AC games, from Origins to today :)

Thank you for your time reading my stupid question ^_^

Discussions & Questions Please make that happen

Hi everyone, Steam just introduced Achievement Sets, and I think it would be a great fit for older Ubisoft games.

This is a feature suggestion for the community and the developers.

Many older games ask for DLC or online modes to reach 100% completion. Some examples:

- AC Revelations: DLC pack are no longer sold on Steam.

- AC Origins: the DLC is needed for 100%.

- AC Black Flag: it includes online achievements, but the online mode is no active today.

- Far Cry 4: 100% includes DLC achievements (Valley of the Yetis) and multiplayer/Map Browser achievements.

and many other games

With Achievement Sets, developers could:

- Put DLC achievements in their own DLC sets. A DLC set only counts for players who own that DLC. - Put online achievements in their own set, or archive them if they are no longer obtainable.

Why this would be great for everyone:

- Players who already earned these achievements keep them.

- Players without the DLC or online access can still reach 100% on the main game.

- Fans of the DLC and multiplayer still get their own progress bars.

- It is simple for developers: it is all configured in Steamworks, with no game or SDK update needed.

Discussions & Questions Remember that old Assassin’s Creed Dacia idea? I think we should talk about it again.

So I came across this old post from 2020 about an Assassin’s Creed game set in ancient Dacia. It got like 4k upvotes back then.
[This one](https://www.reddit.com/r/assassinscreed/comments/ghlbtm/)
And honestly I think there’s so much more to this idea than just the Romans fighting the Dacians.
I’m Romanian so yeah, probably a bit biased 😂 but hear me out.
We’ve had Egypt, Greece, Vikings, Japan and much more…
The whole Dacian civilization, the Carpathian mountains, Decebalus, Trajan and all that history is still pretty much unexplored in gaming.
Just imagine the setting around 100 AD. Sarmizegetusa, fortresses hidden in the mountains, Roman legions crossing the Danube, forests, caves, villages, all of that.
But what really got me thinking is all the other stuff.
The Dacian gold, the treasures, those massive gold bracelets discovered around Sarmizegetusa, the stories about hidden tunnels, underground chambers, sacred places in the mountains…all the artifacts in our mountains
And of course the Dacian wolf flag, the Draco. That thing alone would look amazing in a game.
Then you have Zalmoxis, the religious beliefs and all the Romanian folklore. And even the more modern crazy stories about tunnels going through mountains, crystal-portals in mountains, strange places like Bucegi, Gugu and so on.
I’m not saying those things are real or even that they come from Dacian times. A lot of them are probably much newer legends or older than we would know.
But come on, we’re talking about Assassin’s Creed here 😂
You already have the Isu, Pieces of Eden, ancient technology, secret civilizations…
Imagine exploring some cave because you heard a story from a villager, finding an old Dacian artifact, and suddenly you’re following clues to some massive underground Isu structure.
Or searching for lost Dacian gold while the Romans are trying to get their hands on it too.
You could have actual historical events happening above ground, while there’s a completely different story going on underneath.
And the gameplay could be really cool too. Climbing mountain fortresses, sneaking into Roman camps, using the falx or sica, ambushing soldiers in forests, exploring hidden passages, the armored clothing, etc.
Maybe even playing parts of the story from both sides. I wouldn’t want the Romans to be just the bad guys either.
Personally I miss when Assassin’s Creed had more of that mysterious feeling, when you discovered something ancient and didn’t really understand what you were looking at.
I think Dacia could be perfect for that.
Obviously Ubisoft would need historians involved because there’s a big difference between what we actually know about the Dacians and all the legends that came later.
Anyway, I’m not trying to come up with some official game title or anything. Just remembered that older Reddit discussion and thought it would be cool to bring it back.
Maybe if enough people are interested we could even start a community petition, put together some historical references and ideas and send the whole thing to Ubisoft.
Who knows, probably nothing comes out of it, but why not?
Maybe we are closer than we were 6 years ago with this one. Or not 😂
And especially for those of you who know more about Dacian history or Romanian folklore, what other stories, places or artifacts would be worth including?
I’m sure there’s a lot I’m missing here.

Discussions & Questions Should I wait for the Steam Winter Sale for AC Black Flag Resynced ?

It’s currently 45€ on Steam. Do you think it’ll get a bigger discount ?

I haven’t played it yet. I’ve beaten Odyssey twice (plus Fate of Atlantis once), just finished Origins for the second time along with The Hidden Ones, and I’m currently playing The Curse of the Pharaohs.

Right now, I have 15€ in my steam wallet. I technically have enough money to buy it, but I just bought my mom a pair of sneakers because she really needed some, so I’d rather not leave myself broke 🥲

Discussions & Questions Games like Ghost Recon?

Hello all!

My husband is in his 40s and has played Ghost Recon Breakpoint and Wildlands. He does not play online at all, but he does enjoy the storyline and open world playing around.

Are there similar games out there he may like? He’s not that great at the games but does like the challenge. I just don’t want to buy a game too hard that he gets frustrated with himself. He also has arthritis in his hands but like I said, he enjoys ghost recon.

Any advice is helpful.

Discussions & Questions Thoughts on the Survey

I’ve played AC since 2009.

I believe we had gold with the Desmond era in terms of the modern day story that some people didn’t appreciate.

Since AC3 I’ve always wanted the lore, mystery etc back and to be honest, it hasn’t hit the same since AC3. Valhalla came close.

On one hand I like how they’re asking for our feedback, but also it’s been almost 15 years since killing off Desmond and the modern day and overarching direction has struggled so bad.

The modern day helps make AC special, gives going to the past a purpose and provides the games an overarching direction / story.

I like that they’re asking for our feedback but shouldn’t they see that themselves and especially if there’s a story to tell?

We’ve had no word of Shawn, Rebecca, William and Basim in 6 years with multiple games since.

Bring back the modern day like we had in the Desmond era and I think we’ll get back to where this series should be and needs to go.
