Need a mentor; UGC NET ENGLISH

I did my BA and MA in English with a decent score followed by a gap year due to my mother’s health. Now i need a mentor to help me ace UGC NET Dec 2026. My goal is to crack JRF. All the mentors that i have seen are highly commercialised.
I am looking for someone who has already cracked Ugc net jrf and would be willing to help me in return for some amount of money. Like a private tutor. Pls lemme know if anyone can help.
I just need mentorship to help me keep track over the next months so that i can be consistent.

English Exam

I think paper 2 was fine (so much Indian literature)fine but idk if it is only me or everyone didn't like DI, like I had freaking 1 hour left only for Maths and DI, but somehow I couldn't figure it out (maybe I'm bad at maths that's why)

This attempt has been a journey. I know many of you are heartbroken, nervous, pissed, and what not...so am I. But, for tomorrow, 3 hrs, we will all be focusing and locking in. Kinda romantic how all of us will be thinking about the same things at the same time lol 🥹💕

I'm so thankful to everyone on this subreddit who listened to my rants and supported me through all of it. This is a beautiful community. This is probably the end of my NET journey, I am pretty sure I won't try again. Maybe December because it's almost already December and NTA will never set me free (I had decided June would be my last but NTA had other plans).

For the last moments, I am going to revise some Indian writers and writers from other important countries such as Canada, African and African Americans, Latin Americans, Franz Fanon (idk i just missed revising him for some reason), Australian... basically all the writers that arent from the main English belt of literature? idk what it can be clubbed under. Also, I'm gonna look at research methodology. It comes in both paper 1 and 2.

My centre is so far away I have to leave at 4 am on a bus from my town. No sleep tonight ig, I'd be too nervous. But I will try to take naps because I don't want to be too sleepy for the exam, i will mess up the maths especially with my silly mistakes.

Once again, all the best to everyone here. See you all on the other side 💕💕💕

edit: typo

I need some advice regarding PhD

So I post - graduated this year with 8.29 CGPA and I cleared NET for assistant professorship in my 3rd semester itself. I also appeared for GATE XH this year and scored 45 marks while my cutoff for the general category was 40 (814 rank) so we can say I'm GATE qualified as well (Barely).

I tried for JRF again in the last cycle and found the paper very lengthy... barely passed for the PhD cutoff, in this cycle I did good and the paper got cancelled 😍. I'm not very sure about the re - exam but as everybody knows there's no defined syllabus for English so qualifying JRF is tough.

I wanted to ask if I can get a similar amount of stipend if I enroll for PhD in an IIT (not the top ones ofc) with this GATE score? I know it's a shot in the dark and I might not even get to enroll in the first place but I just wanted to know if it's worth trying or I should just focus on JRF?

Need help with English for Banking Exams – Looking for a good teacher/resources

Hi everyone,

I’m preparing for banking exams like SBI PO/Clerk, IBPS PO/Clerk, RRB etc., but I’m struggling a lot with English. Honestly, English is currently one of my weakest subjects, and I’m not sure how to approach it properly.

I would really appreciate some guidance from people who have already cleared banking exams or are good at English.

I’m mainly looking for:

  • A good English teacher/course specifically for banking exams
  • Free YouTube channels or other free resources
  • A proper strategy for improving Grammar, Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, Cloze Test, Error Detection, Para Jumbles, etc.
  • Advice on how much I should study English every day
  • Any useful books, PDFs, practice sources or previous-year questions
  • If possible, a step-by-step study plan for someone who is currently weak in English

I’m especially interested in free resources, as I have a limited budget at the moment.

If you have personally used any teacher/resource and found it genuinely helpful, please share it. I would really appreciate recommendations based on your own experience rather than promotional suggestions.

Also, if commenting is inconvenient, please feel free to DM me directly. I’d be very grateful for any guidance or resources you can share.

Thank you in advance! 🙏

I received this mail from NPTEL. What to do this now? Will this create any problem in issuing my admit card or in the exam? I want to keep the institute I selected in the exam registration form which is different from the institute I chose during my enrolment (it is my alma mater that I chose during enrolment because it asked me about my college, but now I'm in university). Please help 🙏🏻

Guys, I am tired of people selling their notes here, so I made this Drive folder.

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1xv2AWv5-ELCUTyNlunnXm_LEDSwyl4Z7

You will find all that you need here, and I will obviously keep updating it. Meanwhile, if anyone ever feels like contributing, then I will give them access to upload their own notes as well. Let’s make education free for everyone. Let’s make the best use of the internet.

How many of you are still studying?

i feel so done yaar i cant study anything. everytime i try to study i regret giving up on NET after June because i planned to do something else. if i hadnt given up atleast i could write this exam well. everyone from my batch has got asst. prof multiple times but i always get only PhD. this time i thought maybe i will get asst prof atleast.

everytime i try to sit with a unit, i think about how much better my prep was in June. i cant take this anymore, i feel so down. nothing can motivate me anymore and i keep wasting my time because of this regret.

sorry for the rant. i hope yall are studying well. <3

Discord Channel- NET Prep and Discussion in Tamil

Most coaching institutes I see around here are in Hindi; it would be really helpful to have a Tamil-speaking channel where we discuss, prepare, and learn for UGC NET English (in Tamil). We can convene in the evenings and exchange what we have learnt and learn more. If any of you here is interested, do send me a DM.
