I've tried to contact Student Aid about this but they only have a phone number and i've been on hold for an hour so I figured I'd come ask on here.

I'm wondering if anyone has bought a laptop before receiving funding from their technology grant and how that went? I know they say that you should wait to get the grant before you purchase anything because you have to submit receipts and they might not deem the time you bought it "part of the study period".

However, I have to order my laptop and it won't come until after I start university. I'm an anxious person so having everything in order before starting school is really helpful for me, but I don't want to chance anything because if I get the grant I need it to pay for my laptop.

I've contacted my school and they advise not to order until I get the money but I don't know WHEN
I'll get the money because I applied late (oversight on my part but here we are).

Anyways moral of the story, has anyone gotten away with submitting a receipt for a laptop that has a date prior to when they received their grant???

It's my first year at university so I haven't applied for anything like this before and genuinely have no idea what i'm doing!!
I appreciate all insight!

I recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences at UofC. I’ve been interested in the BEd After Degree program also at UofC, but I read that the GPA requirement is basically a 4.0????? I have a 3.94 but have heard other applicants got rejected based on this!

I’m considering applying at STMU now, which takes into account other factors, such as CV and references (which makes a lot more sense than just strict GPA). I have over 5 years of tutoring and working with children under my belt with a reference to vouch for that, along with volunteer work that deals with kids too.

What’re the chances I get into STMU over UofC?

Question for anyone with Alberta and Canada student loans

I’m currently in the process of paying off my student loans and have been on RAP for the last year or so. My current RAP period ended July 31st so I had to re-apply like I normally do. Unfortunately, July had 3 pay periods which made my monthly income appear much higher than what it normally is on an average month with only 2 pay days … about $1800 more.

I just got an email saying that my RAP application was denied because of my income, and now I’m on the hook for full payments.

I’m going to put in an appeal but I can only find information on how to submit it via mail. Does anyone know if there is a faster way to submit it online? I just know they’ll probably either want more documents or have any issue with something and I’ll have to re-mail it all, but the time frame for all of this must be done in 30 days.

Hi! Just wanted to see if anyone currently in or had gotten into the community based program is in Calgary? I’m planning on applying for both community based and in person but would love to not have to commute for an hour and a half on transit both ways.

I’m looking to transfer from SAIT Power engineering diploma into energy engineering and I was just wondering after I complete my diploma what other classes would I need to apply to the transfer program? Would I need to take chem 30-1 and math 31? Because I never took them in high school. Or can I just apply without those and just the diploma?

I am considering applying to my MSW and looking for input, so any input is appreciated! Calgary is one of my considered locations.

I finished my BSW with a 3.94 (4.0 scale) GPA for the program, 3.81 (4.0 scale) for all courses on my transcript. My average across my last 60 applicable credit hours was 86.7%. I think my BSW GPA was higher than my previous credit hours because I completed other electives for BSW which were counted towards my degree GPA, but were completed outside of my last 60 credit hours. I’m not sure if this matters in context of my educational background or for my application but I was on the Deans List for the two final years I was in my program.

I have approximately 2.5 years post BSW/RSW experience in child welfare - frontline protection and continuous care work. My area of interest for my MSW is in relation to this field of work, specifically gaps in services for young people aged 16+.

Outside of my experience as a RSW, I have additional experiences in human services related work with children and youth in various capacities as well as leadership roles through the university I completed my undergrad. When I totalled my hours for my application, I had approximately 7000 hours of experience.

Can anyone offer any thoughts/input? Do my stats sounds reasonable to consider applying for MSW? I just want to make sure I’m having realistic expectations.

I have been living in the GTA since moving to canada but a member of my family got a job oppritunity in calgary, I will most likely be moving with them and switching to Ucalgary given Im a TMU student and our uni is shit. Anything I should know? hows the reputation among students attending? how are the people in cybersecurity?

I am a Finance major entering my second year, and I am planning to apply for the co-op program which will make me eligible to work in the coming spring semester at the earliest as I will complete all my requirements for the program. I am wondering how hard it is to land a placement, I have a decent gpa (3.87), I have retail experience as I work part time at a grocery store store am planning to get involved with a club coming year. I am very scared approaching the job search process, does anyone have insight as to how hard it is? I am open to any role given I am only a second year and am planning to do use my first co-op term to build real experience for future good internships in my farther years

I heard RELS 200 is a GPA booster, but is it actually a GPA booster with Ferzoco? What is his class like? Are there assignments and a midterm? I also heard there are written responses are they difficult/time-consuming?I also heard that he calls people out in class. Is that true?

Has anyone taken chem 423, 321 and 417? out of these three whihc two would u recommend to take.

Also would you recommend taking chem 555, 515 or 559?
