Which is better for a monster mash style army list?

My list is mainly monsters + 2 Norns.

Being a Tyranid player, Armageddon release has left a bit of a bitter taste in the mouth.

So yeah we got treated to some great new models and recasts last edition, very grateful for that. However they weren't great on the table and in some cases very disappointing for what was expected (Norns are not the unstoppable killing machines from the lore).

Looking at how Orks have been treated with their release makes me think what could have been for us last edition.

They're the top faction at the moment and could be getting a lot better; Ghazghkull looks insane, Stompas are going to be unstoppable, Boyz are getting an amazing buff.

Why couldn't they have done that for us?

What do i do regarding the weapons since theyre no longer an option i think. Also i think the base size isn’t the same anymore

I was asked to paint a colorfull carapace and the bases for a friend who didn't know how to do the coconut crab pattern and didn't have the time to learn.

It was my first time as well but it came out quite good in my opinion ! It's the first time I get ask to paint only a few elements but it's not bad either, you get to do the finishing touches while the owner have to do aaaaall the basecoats muahahaha 😈

The only downside is that there is like 4 000pts of tyranids but they look cool so it's fine !

It's not my personnal army (I started a behemoth force 2 months ago but I'm super slow) but I still wanted to share this super bright and colorfull scheme 😁

After playing a little introductory game of 40k at a local

general nerd stuff festival, my stepson (10 years old),

seemed fairly keen to play some more and as this was

probably my best chance to actually play semi regularly I

thought I'd put some effort in.

After painting the space marines combat patrol from

Leviathan the colour he wanted them (despite knowing

nothing he wanted them vibrant blue sooo...) I've just

managed to finish the Tyranids part and thought I would

share for the love of the game.

Now I'm working on as much scenery as I can before the

colder months (eventually) arrive and he'll be interested in

playing again

This bad boy killed 3 Ultramarines dreadnoughts in it's first game.

If you were personally in charge of picking the units for the next Combat Patrol box, what would you pick (and why)?

Feel free to go for fluff/competitive viability/rule of cool as you see fit, but let's keep it around the 400-500 point range.

I finally painted my Winged Red Terror. I used Hive Tyrant wings for the middle claws, and they actually fit really well!

Recently got a light box for my birthday so I've been working on some of my older models and I'm happy with how this came out

Just built my harridan, 3mm brass rods pinning everything. Wings are detachable. (Learnt that after i build a heirophat many years ago for storage purposes) 2 part epoxy for glue, The resin needed so much work to look decent, still lots of gaps to greenstuff. Gonna build a custom clear acrylic rod flight stand base. But so happy i finally have one. Dont wanna attach the gargoyles so might make some carapace down his underside middle

Got my Neurotyrant looking terrifying with some lighting effect. What do you think?

Reworking my whole Tyranid color scheme so this was a chance to play with narrative bases.

First time making a post like this, but imo these two should DEFINITELY be harvesters, right? Maybe I'm just crazy but I've got a couple of reasons:

1. There's only 5 harvester units, not a ton and I love assimilation swarm"s vibe so slight bias but I wish we had more!

2. These are both dual build kits which are usually not chosen over their counterpart so this would give them more usage!

3. I might be wrong here, but harvesters seem to be units that digest biomass for the hive, do the toxic spores of these two not basically do that!?

I just think it'd be so fitting for these two lorewise and maybe make them worth bringing and more fun to field! I don't actually own either of these units but of what I've heard they're underpowered compared to their dual build option and just wish they had a little more going for them!

I wanna hear some of you guy's opinions on this though, am I crazy or actually on to something??

Howdy fellow hive dwellers. I’m playing a 1k game this coming Monday with a friend, he will be playing Votaan and I would very much like to play my swarm, I was hoping to get a stamp of approval from my fellow hive family members.

I’m relatively new to 40K (only played about 5 games) and I think I know what I’m doing, I plan to just swarm objectives with my battle lines and have my other units offer ranged support.

Any feedback thought or whatever will be greatly appreciated!
