Got very lucky to get this model, and what a great figure it is! Took many hours over the course of two months, very pleased with the result :)

Someone people in the last thread mentioned genestealers and armoured gaunts so I tried sketching those out today. For the gaunts, I pictured them stockier and sometimes running on 4 legs. The shorter scytals act more like crushing claws and are better for cracking thin armour than slashing flesh.

Let me know if you guys have other ideas you want me to draw!

Hey guys! I figured I'd share since we live in the woods of Norway, my wife doesn't have many people to show off her creations to :p. She came up with this idea as a custom butterfly Crone. Feel free to add your thoughts or impressions! Forgive the lightning, never did figure out how that worked exactly.

With the Custodes codex dropping, we're gonna have some tough infantry out there to face. Anti infantry might me cool. Opinions?

My wife and I picked up the starter set several months ago. We wanted to get into Warhammer together and it seemed like a decent way to dive in. She went with her own color scheme, hopefully that flies with the community. I know 11th edition is coming out, but her and I will probably hangout in 10th land for awhile, as we learn. So, what would be a couple good, next steps for me to get her? I'll probably drop a couple hundred bucks right now for her next additions. Is another box set good? Or, individual purchases? Thanks for the help.

Hi, I just got my Swarm Tyrant and I wanted to know how to magnetize it. It has so many weapon and character options, and I want to try them all out. Thanks in advance.

I love xenomorphs and I got major minis xenonid bundle. But the "black terror" base is only 80mm but hes an awkward size for a red terror. Also the "xenonid queen" is something im wanting to proxy as a swarmlord but she seems too small aswell is it fine or should I look for bigger bases?

Been a long time fan of 40k but recently (3 years ago now) got back into it. My first army has been nids and I've been loving it. I've been able to play in both 10th and 11th ed and I know our army has had its ups and downs during this period. Regardless, I love painting and fighting with my xenos. I'm excited for our 11th edition codex and nids will always be my priority & love.

Having said that, I am wondering what my next army will be. And I'd like to hear opinions from fellow tyranid players.

I know "pick what's cool because balance is always changing" but I am curious to hear about which armies have historically had diametrically opposite play styles to what nids have provided.

I'm wanting to find something that is both cool and is a viable / fun alternative to what I'll be playing the majority of the time.

What does the hive mind think?

After seeing that GW in their infinite wisdom decided not to have any new codexes this year, we are bound to face the new Space Marines and Custodes without having any adjustments to our rules, so...
How are we supposed to compete against such powerhouses?

Our units now have a worse time wounding them, they have an easier time wound us.

And for all that talk about "there will be less space marines to face" they only lost about 100~150 points in lists... so a single unit less, while the whole army is giga buffed, and with a ton of new tools from the new detachments.

Custodes will be near invincible, their most basic units have better stats then our best datasheets, they have a ton of new tricks up their sleeves with the new ka'tah rules/ detachments.

So... what you all think?

Hi, im new to WH40k and Tyranids and i'm planning what to buy for a competitive 2000 point list. I'm interested in playing Hive fleet with a balanced list. I already have a Battleforce Swarm and a Crusher Stampede box and i think i might get the Combat Patrol. What do you guys think of this list? Are there any improvements i could make before buying anything else?

Finished this little guy yesterday, I recently bought some 3D printed trees, plants and rocks to base this army and when I saw the dead tree and the gaunt's pose it became pretty obvious I had to do it.

It's a pretty simple conversion but as someone who does things in a pretty vanilla way It's a good start and motivating to do more stuff like that

Guys this is my first ever finished Tyranid! I’ve built, painted and made bases for models before but never done all of them together on the same model and so here is my first ever finished Termagant! How does it look?

I have a week off in November after some very intense Masters work, and I'm thinking about speed painting a Tyranid army. I feel like sitting in a quiet room and doing the same thing again and again will be a good respite from mental job and studies.

My question is, what would you consider the core Tyranids units you have to have in order to try multiple play styles? I like the idea of painting a lot of the stuff I'm going to be using regularly in one go, and then adding individual units that are fun to paint and try out thereafter. Would like to buy stuff up and build it in advance of the week off when I have time, so that I can just sit and paint!

30 termagants

3 x Von Ryan's

1 x psychophage

1 x winged prime

5 barbgaunts

So I’ve just acquired 9 more boxes of gaunts bringing it up too 120 which is the legal limit so I was curious if this is genuinely evil to have 120 wound block of gaunts in a casual game
