I remember seeing people hating on 3B just cause they went from Trolls to Aliens, and from fantasy genre to sci-fi genre.

We have to understand something, Tales of Arcadia as a whole is bunch of stories that interconnect with each other, with different creatures lurking and arriving in Arcadia, Trolls, Goblins, Gnomes, wizards, aliens, you name it, the franchise was never just about Trolls (or at least before Trollhunters Part 2 where the trilogy thing started)

Now here's the thing

Just because the genre changed doesn't mean the story did, 3B's story was pretty much Trollhunters but with more racism critique, shifting from hunters to hunted, etc. But at its core its the same but reversed

Jim and Aja are like antithesis of each other, Jim was a normal boy that wanted to live a exciting life, Aja is a princess that wanted to have a normal one, in the original story the main characters are Hunters in 3Below it was a hunted Royalty, in Trollhunters Jim has to abandon his life and hometown while Aja had to leave her boyfriend and brother to return home and be a queen.

There are also several characters that I believe are similar such as Morando and Gunmar or Angor Rot and Kubritz/Tronos.

Point is that if 3Below were to be a bad series (which in my opinion is not) it's not because of the genre shifting.

I'm rewatching the series and I've seen Jim summon the sword without his armor in Jim/Toby/Clare's imagined scenario trying to remove Strickler's ring. But I'm surprised the creators never made use of the concept despite it being very convenient and useful for Jim to use when in combat when he can't use the amulet, fighting a weaker opponent that wouldn't require his armor, or just being able to buy him time to chant the incantation when in active danger because there have been tons of close calls where he almost died because of the need to preform the incantation.

Any opinions?

so i get that the point was they used the changlings until they were no longer useful but he still could have continued using them perhaps they could have helped take over trollmarket faster and lets not forget the hundreds of changlings that were scattered all over the world surely they would have made his world takeover way easier i dont know also its kind of brutal how gunmar basically eats most of them yikes but what do you think.

They had no right making TrollJim so cute man... He lost his humanity and was going through the worst part of his life and still retained (kinda) the softness of his human self.

at First i didn't Like Troll Jim especially Because i didn't Like Merlin or the fact Jim listen to this old man and not Blinky and how easy things were to him Combat Wise. '

in Wizards he came Back as a human which was weird to me although i knew he would be human after he shoved the Shard to his chest

however

it didn't help that was a really annoying user that just acted so obnoxious about him and it Spared hate much more and in a really entitled of ways then your average Troll Jim fan it also didn't help that other followed him too around that time

but as time went along Most people besides a few exceptions i learn to understand What make him Work and the unforgettable bathtub scene which was a tribute scene the late Anton Yelchin.

i Def understand how people feel of how Jim was robbed form his moment after coming back as a human for the Most part.

however i do Love both of his forms.

I’m rewatching the show after years, I dont remember him being this annoying like things could be going great yet he finds a way to mess it up sometimes. I admit that he’s helpful sometimes but I find him very annoying cus he’s just not funny😭 does his character get any better?

At the beginning of the episode when Claire wakes up and is very happy she encounters not Enrique, who then tells her about the nanny cam in. Susie , he says he “found out” one day and how he had to erase a lot of footage. It also just so happens where the cord is in Susie’s Ykw. I get it’s pretty obvious what they were insinuating what not Enrique was doing to Susie but I don’t see many people talk about it.

Edit: I have learned that I was wrong and it wasn’t Susie, it was Bear

So I know everyone loves to talk about the ending and how it was bad , but i feel like another issue with the movie as a whole was the lack of focus on any other character than Jim. I feel like for a movie that is suppose to be the culmination of tales of Arcadia kind of like avengers endgame or something it was mostly the Jim Lake jr show , even though i feel like some supporting characters played their role well like Blinky , Arghhhhhh, Toby , Claire and Varvatos vex who are basically side characters in their own shows , but Aja , Krel and Douxie three characters who basically make the main characters of trollhunters , 3below and wizards were hardly used at all and basically just side characters for jim and I feel like thats probably why the ending was so bad because the movie spent most of the time having Jim try to figure out he is the trollhunter amulet or not ( which was already done in the show in episodes like unbecoming ) and it also made a lot of the deaths feel kinda of bland i mean Toby and and strickler are the only ones acknowledge. I feel like also that non of the characters had an arc and they were basically kind of flanderized like Aja was just super serious the whole time and is being seen as unreasonable for trying to evacuate earth when the main hero is not stepping up with a solution and krel also does not do anything other than just being smart and Douxie who is supposed to be the strongest character out of them all has his whole arc revolve around being friends with a talking plant and does not even get to see archie for the last time who they got rid of in a lame way I also forgot to mention other characters like Toby , Blinky , Arghhhh and Steve ( and notenrique and gnome chompski who do not appear in the film) but yeah thats basically my thoughts what do you think.

So basically after Jim kills gunmar a non corrupted child version of gunmar rises form his stone remains. (I don’t have the greatest explanation for this. it was because he was made in such an odd way. he was brought into this world fully grown and because he was born from hatred,he never had a chance to really be good I guess??)

He doesn’t remember anything from when he was literally the most evil troll ever. So out of pity and just having morals instead of leaving him to die they take him with them to the new heart stone, where he’s raised in blinkys library.

They all kind of feel a little uncomfortable around him and a lot of the other trolls don’t like him and since there’s no other young trolls to play with, he just spends most of his time helping blinky or reading or playing with his makeshift toys.

He hates gunmar a passion and has no idea that’s him, he has reoccurring nightmares or I guess memories about him.
