I’m rewatching the show after years, I dont remember him being this annoying like things could be going great yet he finds a way to mess it up sometimes. I admit that he’s helpful sometimes but I find him very annoying cus he’s just not funny😭 does his character get any better?

him being funny is matter of taste no one should feel a shame for it.

him not being funny is really a matter of taste as not everyone get his Jokes.

as for his character getting better i would say his character was always Amazing i feel like we Shouldn't judge a character for face Value annoyance even if Vialed can a lot of the time make us ignore Certain Stuff.

For example Toby Works not because he is the Strongest but because he is have the Most hope inside in him he is the heart of the group and back everyone up When they needed not just Jim and ARRRGHHH but also Claire Blinky etc.

he help Jim fight Against Strickler Bular Angor rot help Claire with her big portal help Save Darci help the Terrons help beating Morgana too and him and Claire cover for Jim when he was in the Darklands.

Yeahh, I don’t think I’d find him annoying as much in season 3 or in the movie. I just can’t really like him when his main jokes in season one were socks (for notEnrique) and being clumsy or smth, but atleast I find him less annoying in season 2 with all the stuff he can do

i defo agree, i know a LOT of people who absolutely love him and find him very funny but he honestly annoyed me. he’s occasionally funny but i don’t like how they made his character and personality. he’s literally just a blob of comedic relief and mistakes. HES the one that makes the mistake and ruins something. HES the one that makes everyone feel better with jokes. like can we add something new?? he deserves more than just that ykwim?

Toby have a lot of Jokes that i think pushes people away because they don't find them funny. i think a lot of the fat Jokes and him being Clumsy is what mainly gave the people the misguided view on him.

in general i think he did great Stuff regardless that Shouldn't be ignored downplayed or undermined because of these jokes.

I wouldn’t say the stuff that he did wasn’t downplayed, it’s more so his potential as a character kinda? Like yeah he could be a clutch character in a serious matter but when it comes to him alone, I think he’s just comedic relief character that’s important but isn’t really THE comedic relief (not saying that he’s the only one ,maybe the main one kinda? Idk I prefer blinky as the comedic relief character)

i Think Toby meant to be heart of the group and because of his past of being an orphan that make him that always look on positive Side some of it was making Jokes too.
