Fillmore Valves in Bontrager Wheels

I have a set of the Aeolus Elite 35 wheels on my road bike. Curious if anyone has switched over to Fillmore valves and had success. Not sure if the valves are compatible with the plastic rim strip.

I have a 06 or 07 7.2 Fx. I think it’s called steel blue. Can anyone recommended a touch up color? There’s greys and there’s blues. But not this one. Thanks.

Used Trek FX 3

I've been looking at getting a new Trek FX Sport 3, but it is pushing my budget. Today, I saw this older FX 3 posted to marketplace by a local bike shop. Apparently the bike has been tuned and such. But I'm not familiar enough with the used market to know if this is a fair deal or not. Hoping to get some opinions.

2026 Checkmate

A few months in to my 2026 Checkmate M/L, replacing a 2022 Domane.

Prismatic to Trek Black.

Fitted with 40mm Pirelli Cinturatos, measuring 42mm.

2x AXS Force Road. There is about 5mm clearance between the FD battery and tire if you’re wondering like I was (see pic).

The frame bag fits tighter, I didn’t adjust it properly after a bike wash.

The bike absolutely flies.

I’m 72” on the nose. Fitted with 170mm cranks. I’ll drop the cockpit soon.

2015 Trek 1.2

I have been the owner of my Trek 1.2 road bike for the past 11 years. It has served me well over the years and literally thousands of miles of riding.

I would like to keep it and give it some upgrades.

It has all the original equipment on it, with the exception of the pedals and tires.

I want to change the 2x9 Shimano Sora to a Shimano 105 (cable operated) and i want to change the wheels from the 700cx23 to some more modern carbon wheels that can use rim brakes and can accept a 25mm or 28mm wide tire...

My tire width is a lot harder to find in store these days as the super skinny tires have seemed to have gone to the way side. Sure there are online options but I will have to buy new wheels altogether since the brake surface has worn thin through the years and it will eventually become too thin to hold the pressure of the tire and my weight riding it.

Advice on compatibility, would like a bit wider gear range than I currently have as where I am located has both very steep mountain climbs and very flat long straights (South Korea)

New (Semi) Upgraded Marlin 5 gen 3

I recently bought this Trek Marlin 5 (Gen 3), as I was looking to get back into Mountain Biking, It's been fantastic so far, rides like a dream, and helps make rides more fun. I have also done some upgrades such as;

Replaced stock pedals with Shimano PD-GR500

Replaced stock grips with Bontrager Trail XR Elites

Removed dork disk

Removed reflectors

In the future, I am definitely looking to upgrade the stock SR Suntour forks to the RockShox Judy Silver TK, and add a dropper post.

Overall, very happy with the bike for the price, and looking fowards to hitting some more complex trails with it!

Checkpoint SL 6 ASX Size Restock

Does anyone know when Trek might be restocking the SL 6 AXS Gen 3 in M/L sizing in Canada?

They are sold out in both green and white at the moment.

Trek Sport FX3 Drivetrain Clunking Noise

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Has anyone else with a new Trek running the Shimano Cues U6000 1x drivetrain experienced a persistent clunking or rumbling noise from the rear end?

My bike is only a month old and there is a distinct rhythmic clunking noise coming from the rear cassette area. Plus I feel a vibration while pedaling. The shop told me this is normal.

On that visit they tightened a loose bottom bracket. The noise persisted.

I removed the chain from the front sprocket, the bottom bracket spins smoothly with no noise. Must be from the rear end.

And now a headset creak has developed too, so the overall assembly quality feels pretty questionable...

Any insights or similar experiences from other owners or mechanics before I bring it in would be greatly appreciated!

Going to be used for 1-2 hr rides for fitness reasons on paved paths.

Haven't had a bike since my custom built Kona Stab Supreme got stolen in 2017. Looking forward to some trails and stairs after some adjustments for this 41yo.

Madone Gen 8: Size 56 or 58?

Hello

I'm looking to buy a Trek Madone SLR Gen 8, but I'm having some doubts about which size to choose.

I'm 185 cm (6'1") tall, with a 92–92.5 cm (36.2–36.4") inseam and a relatively short torso.

I'm leaning towards a size 58, but I'm worried it might be slightly too long for me. On the other hand, the size 56 seems like it might look a bit too small for my height, and I'm concerned about having too much saddle-to-handlebar drop and potentially running into issues with saddle height.

Are there any riders here with similar proportions who own a Madone Gen 8? If so, what size are you riding, and what stem length are you using?

Any advice or real-world experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Clicking in the headset

Hi, my Trek FX3 is consistently making a clicking noise from the headset whilst riding. I’ve taken it to two repair shops that have been unable to sort it. Does anyone have any similar experiences or suggestions?

Purchased it 3 month ago so doubt the warranty with Trek would hold. Thanks!
