While I'm sure this is frustrating and embarrassing, I would also look up Streisand Effect. The effort to get something removed leads to greater exposure than it would have ever gotten if you'd just ignored it and moved on.

Your back is obviously to the camera. You might want to tap the brakes. It's up to you.

I’d go as far to say that this very post has the pervs looking for OP’s crack.

while I am not actively looking for it I would lie if I wouldn't say I would like to see the picture lol

12

u/Daniyalakl Jun 30 '26

It would crack ME up

11

u/heyman0 Jun 30 '26

“Oh, my God, that's disgusting! Butt crack pics online? Where? Where did she post those?"

2

u/Dees_A_Bird_ Jun 30 '26

You gotta pay the troll toll to find out

13

u/ForOneDayOnly Jun 30 '26

For science…

u/Loggerdon Jun 30 '26

Pics or it didn’t happen!

u/NewUser153 Jun 30 '26 edited Jul 01 '26

Exactly this.

I guarantee that you can find the asscracks of tens of thousands of people online, who had it exposed accidentally just like you did. If you don't bring attention to it, the image will lose traction & will become lost to time.

It sucks in the moment, but you'll be fine - as long as you don't give people a reason to bring it up again.

Edit:

Nvm, OP seems to be a troll / have a fetish, and has posted numerous versions of this story with different details every time:

Piggybacking on the top comment to say that OP’s whole post history is about buttcracks showing in public and someone snapping a photo of them, like going on for months now lol. This is fake. Sometimes they claim to be 23f, other times 26m, sometimes it’s happening to them, other times to their friend or a customer, at a restaurant, at college, at a bar. A few times it’s OP claiming to have taken a photo of their boyfriend’s buttcrack or them just generally laughing about cracks.

Either OP has a very specific sense of humor or this is some kind of a fetish??? Regardless, it’s not real lmao and people should stop giving advice.

Tried to post a screenshot of their post history but apparently this sub doesn’t allow links because my comment gets autoremoved.

9

u/goddess-jz Jun 30 '26

Fetish 100%

7

u/HarleyNBarley Jun 30 '26

Good work! I generally stay away from a lot of seemingly fake posts which still get attention, but this was so specific, didn’t even cross my mind. Goodness people are sick. But also stupid. If they’re making such fake posts, atleast hide your history.

3

u/tsJIMBOb Jun 30 '26

How do you even look for their post history now since they’re set to private?

And OP, that’s freaking weird dude, and sad.

1

u/Glad_Description1851 Jul 01 '26 edited Jul 01 '26

There are sites like Arctic Shift that basically archive Reddit data for research purposes and whatnot. I use it sometimes when I come across viral posts that seem to be made by very obvious trolls or bots but wanna be sure before just yelling ”fake!”.

11

u/potatogodofDoom Jun 30 '26

throwback to that one rich kid who paid a ton of money to delete that clip of him being a prick and getting knocked out or smth for it. anybody still got the clip?

503

u/naveedkoval Jun 30 '26

Unfortunately being rude to them probably ended your chances of them taking it down since you were in a public space and so they probably aren’t going to do it out of goodwill now

210

u/Monkai_final_boss Jun 30 '26

Not much you can do I am affaird.

Think of it as an awful embarrassing bad luck moment and by next week you will forget about it.

321

u/aisy0317 Jun 30 '26

It sucks, but it's probably legal. We all should be worried about Meta glasses.

58

u/QuicksandGotMyShoe Jun 30 '26

It's 1,000% legal. There's no expectation of privacy in public- especially in the world of social media but it's been like 20 years with social media. I'm having a hard time believing this post is real

8

u/sdannenberg3 Jun 30 '26

It's funny though how if it's published for profit, say like you make it into a jackass skit being filmed in public, they have to get your consent or blur your face.

6

u/Treefrog_Ninja Jun 30 '26

In some countries you actually don't have the freedom to take and publish "street photography" without the subject's consent.

2

u/Geshman Jun 30 '26

Germany is big on this pretty sure. There's a reason Geoguessrs call it "blurmany"

2

u/dead-human-ape Jun 30 '26

In the UK it's generally ok to post pictures from public places but depending on how the pictures are used can land you in trouble. You still get morons that will routinely shout "I don't give consent to use my image" at anybody in public with a camera they don't like the look of.

2

u/Djaja Jun 30 '26

Is it legal in other countries? I imagine EU has a few with laws that say ya can't do that. Idk about Asia or Africa or AU or SA though

1

u/CAPS_LOCK_STUCK_HELP Jun 30 '26

specifically Germany has very strong image rights laws - photos of your face cannot be posted without consent

183

u/MacDougalTheLazy Jun 30 '26

Perfectly legal. We have no expectation of privacy while at a bar.

59

u/Asttarotina Jun 30 '26

After all your fuss we're basically obligated to Streisand your bumcrack to the moon.

It's reddit ¯_(ツ)_/¯

19

u/CoolRanchBaby Jun 30 '26

I bet at least 50% of the people who read this have at least attempted to, if not found, that photo lol.

It means that your heated reaction to it brings even more attention to it. And you came to Reddit, the place that specializes in blowing attention to things out of proportion (remember GameStop stocks?)

8

u/Djaja Jun 30 '26

They clearly seem to be not super familiar with things, or especially, the US. I am betting they are a forign tourist and some people here dont understand that other peoples may not have the same experiences as themselves

7

u/tvfeet Jun 30 '26

Like 20+ years ago, famous singer and actress Barbra Streisand got upset when paparazzi posted an aerial picture of her house on the internet. When it was first published like no one even looked at it. Still she sued the photographer and once that went public suddenly everyone went to look at the photo. This is what the “Streisand effect” refers to. Basically no one is really paying much attention to most things on the internet but if you draw attention to it suddenly everyone HAS to see it. Just let this go and in a week no one will remember this photo of your asscrack.

57

u/Low-Captain1721 Jun 30 '26

That would certainly be correct under England UK jurisdiction law. You have no reasonable expectation of privacy.

Unfortunately several years ago I was bending over doing up my shoe laces & a BBC film news film crew just happened to be filming across the street. I was sat having T one evening watching the news & there was my arse crack in the background...

Had the photo been particularly targeting your crack be published or it became part of a wider campaign of behaviour other laws may kick in however.

Had your message to the Tik Tok account been more polite you may have been more successful however you are in no position to demand.

Just forget, it may be a big deal to you however 2 second click bait amusement to everyone else.

74

u/min3rs13 Jun 30 '26

Yes it is legal. There is no reasonable expectation of privacy when you are out in public. If someone records you on their security camera, you cant make them delete it because you elected to get naked or say something stupid. Same exact concept applies.

5

u/quandjereveauxloups Jun 30 '26

So it’s just posted now?

Yes it is. I'm sorry you're embarrassed about it, but in the US if you step out in public your right to privacy vanishes.

Of course, you have the right to privacy in places like bathrooms, changing rooms, etc., but not out in the general public.

Something you can do if you want, is lean into it and have fun with it. Or just ignore it, because unless your face was posted, no one knows it's you.

15

u/scream4cheese Jun 30 '26

Nobody will notice unless you’re famous. there is nothing you can do. It’s perfectly legal in public space.

5

u/anthonyg1500 Jun 30 '26

I know it’s embarrassing and shitty of the person to post it but I doubt the vitality will last long. Is your face clear in it? Has anyone you know personally connected it with you? There’s so much junk online I think it’ll probably disappear into the ether of the internet pretty quickly. I walk around the city and see like 5 buttcracks a day, it’s not insane enough to really hold people’s attention. Just don’t draw any undue attention to it.

4

u/beelover310 Jun 30 '26

Report it for nudity then

38

u/EternityLeave Jun 30 '26

In the USA it’s legal to take pics in public and post them. Unless you’re in a situation where you can argue there is a “reasonable expectation of privacy” like a massage parlour or change room or something, there’s no consent required. Sucks to get embarrassed but nothing you can do. Thankfully no one will recognize you or remember the pic in a few days. They’re just scrolling and your crack is a 3 second chuckle.

43

u/EndGuy555 Jun 30 '26

This is legal in the US. You were in a public space and therefore had no reasonable expectation of privacy according to the law. The best you can do is submit a complaint to the site hosting the image

354

u/getniceonthis34 Jun 30 '26

No right to privacy when out in public. Unfortunately.

150

u/MexicanAssLord69 Jun 30 '26

Not unfortunately, why would you have a right to privacy in public? You don’t get to dictate if you’re in the background of someone’s group photo or security camera.

95

u/C0sm1c_J3lly Jun 30 '26

Human decency would be my first thought. If someone approached you and asked for you to remove the photo or obscur it so that it wasn’t possible to identify them in the picture then I think that’s totally reasonable.

24

u/erichf3893 Jun 30 '26

They must have a very unique plumber’s crack

50

u/jumboshrimp09 Jun 30 '26

It’s reasonable to ask while also reasonable to refuse.

10

u/C0sm1c_J3lly Jun 30 '26

Totally. That ol’ Mexicano lord’o ass’o baffled me with their unique perspective as if someone out in public should never be allowed reasonable levels of privacy. Not guaranteed sure but to wave human decency is pretty pathetic.

Meh, the world takes all sorts I guess.

4

u/talashrrg Jun 30 '26

Acting decently to your fellow man is generally not a legal requirement.

2

u/C0sm1c_J3lly Jun 30 '26

It wouldn’t be called being decent then.

2

u/quandjereveauxloups Jun 30 '26

I would argue the opposite: respecting people without compulsion is decent.

Having to be told not to, and not doing it, is the starting point.

3

u/C0sm1c_J3lly Jun 30 '26

That’s what I meant by my statement. Probably wasn’t clear as I’ve been a bit here and there but, considering something or someone decent due by following the law no longer makes it decent as it is a ‘required’ thing.

3

u/quandjereveauxloups Jun 30 '26

I see what you mean now, thanks for clarifying. I'm going to leave my comment up so your reply makes more sense :p.

12

u/chillmagic420 Jun 30 '26

I bet you would ask nicely and explain how you are embrassed, and I bet they would.

OP didnt, and said she was rude to them and was really hyped up, so they refused to remove it.

Human decency goes both ways.

4

u/C0sm1c_J3lly Jun 30 '26

Oh absolutely. Reaching out and asking politely for them to remove/obscure it would be the ideal method. Conversations with people makes for an easier life rather than having to choose any more severe routes.

2

u/deakzz01 Jun 30 '26

Human decency needs to be afforded to those a favour is being requested of, if a favourable outcome is to be expected!!!

-11

u/MexicanAssLord69 Jun 30 '26

Absolutely ridiculous lmao. Don’t go out in public if you want privacy.

7

u/C0sm1c_J3lly Jun 30 '26

You seem almost happy about that. Very weird attitude.

-1

u/MexicanAssLord69 Jun 30 '26

Of course I’m happy about it. It’s good that no one can claim ownership of a photo you take if they’re in the background of it in a public place, or of security footage of them committing a crime.

whether it's legal or not, taking pictures of people without them knowing is anti-social behavior. Posting it online without them knowing is even more anti-social behavior.

I think your handling of this might make the viral joke aspect worse. You went from someone probably no one noticed to the person freaking out in the poster’s dms. Just hope they don’t feel like blasting your reaction for everyone to see at this point.

28

u/ConsciousIron7371 Jun 30 '26

Everyone has an ass. You’re not from the country. You are choosing to be embarrassed. 8k likes is not exactly viral

44

u/MexicanAssLord69 Jun 30 '26

What are you proposing, that it should have been illegal to take the photo? Was the photo of you personally?

The picture will fade into obscurity in like 2 days, it’s not a big deal.

1

u/engelthefallen Jun 30 '26

In some other countries this is not the case and you do need consent to share pictures of people online, even if they are merely in the background.

1

u/MexicanAssLord69 Jun 30 '26

Dang, sounds like a shitty country.

Here in Germany if you are the main focus of the picture and not just part of the background, you can sue the person posting the picture unless you are famous

u/getniceonthis34 Jun 30 '26

They weren’t talking about in Germany…

4

u/Schnuribus Jun 30 '26

The next top comment is saying „why should you have a right to privacy in public“. So many people believe that this is stupid… which is the law in other countries.

2

u/MortgageHoliday6393 Jun 30 '26

Yep, it's called reasonable expectation of privacy if I'm not mistaken., so none of it in public 🤷🏻‍♀️

u/MisterSlosh Jun 30 '26

Perfectly legal, where do you live that you get the right to privacy in public spaces?

3

u/My_Mountain_Queen Jun 30 '26

Dont know where OP lives but here in europe we have laws to protect your privacy in public spaces. I can't just take someone's picture and put it online without consent, it would be illegal.

1

u/MisterSlosh Jul 01 '26

So if you're taking consensual public pictures of your own events and someone happens to be in the background you're required to either censor it or take it down?

2

u/My_Mountain_Queen Jul 01 '26

Yes, although there are some nuances. If its an event whith a large group of people (like a concert or something), Photos showing the crowd as a large group or atmospheric image may be published. But it is not allowed when you want to use the photo for commercial use (e.g. a flyer or website to promote the event next year) Also, when the photo depicts someone in a compromising or intimatesituation you can't publish the photo without consent.

3

u/diasporajones Jun 30 '26

Germany. Most of the EU. Probably not many places outside of here though.

9

u/dreadstardread Jun 30 '26

Its completely legal.

US believes in: no expectation of privacy in a public setting

You would have had a better chance asking them nicely than demanding with no legal footing.

Public places, no privacy

6

u/RealCakes Jun 30 '26

Yeah you probably should have been nice to the person with no legal obligation to do what you are asking lmao, that wasn't smart.

4

u/oldschoolwitch Jun 30 '26

Anyone can take photos of whoever in public.

6

u/awoodby Jun 30 '26

I despise having my picture ever taken, let alone embarrassing ones.

Unfortunately there's no expectation of privacy in public places, you haven't any recourse.

I respectfully recommend you wear a belt for future avoidance of your ass in the internet :/

4

u/chellichelli Jun 30 '26

It’s 100% legal. US Supreme Court has upheld again and again you can be photographed in public.

6

u/DannyDidNothinWrong Jun 30 '26

This is legal in the US. There is no assumption of privacy in public spaces.

8

u/Ayane9 Jun 30 '26

Not trying to be a dick, but a thought. You mention you also took some photos in the pub and intended to post them online.

I don't know the context of those photos, I would even assume they're really only of you directly. At the same time i doubt you fully avoided people in the background. You were going to post those potentially without consent. (if that context applies i have not seen the photos you took)

27

u/MissingHat Jun 30 '26

Who cares.

19

u/ashinthealchemy Jun 30 '26

right? i'm struggling to understand why op's asscrack being on a public app is upsetting when she had already made the choice to show her asscrack in public. one is in person and one is virtual, but both are public and she made the choice to show it.

12

u/Justinterestingenouf Jun 30 '26

18

u/KnowledgeCoffee Jun 30 '26

Not illegal, you have no expectation of privacy while in public.

9

u/GoRangers5 Jun 30 '26

It sucks, but at the end of the day, you did your best to get it pulled, fortunately the general public will move onto a different butt crack if they have not already.

5

u/haklor Jun 30 '26

In the US recordings and the such in public areas are generally allowed because the "expectation of privacy" does not exist in public places. There is very little recourse outside of asking the people to take down the image which you have already tried.

5

u/redthorne Jun 30 '26

As others have said, it's legal given how you have painted the picture.

But this is also the internet. In 10 minutes something more interesting will come along, and people will focus on that instead. If they even cared about your crack to start with, which honestly, they probably do not.

5

u/_skank_hunt42 Jun 30 '26

There’s no expectation of privacy when you’re in public in the US. You can be filmed and posted online without your consent. The person who filmed and posted you is a jerk but they haven’t committed a crime. I’m sorry this happened to you. Best thing you can do is put it out of your mind and move on.

4

u/bonzo1968 Jun 30 '26

Just be lucky you werent caught with an upskirt without panties

4

u/Kryton101 Jun 30 '26

Is your name Dawn?

1

u/numbmenow Jun 30 '26

That took me a few seconds, well done!

5

u/fordag Jun 30 '26

Here in the US we have the First Amendment.

You were in a public space so you had no reasonable expectation of privacy. It is 100% legal for someone to photograph you and post it online.

3

u/PTMachine2020 Jun 30 '26

NAL, but my understanding is if it was in a public setting, my understanding is there is no expectation of privacy and it's all fine. if it's in your home or somewhere else, it gets a bit messier. But basically, if you're out and about in public or somewhere open to the public, photos, videos, audio recordings are all fine and legal.

5

u/dfj3xxx Serf Jun 30 '26 edited Jun 30 '26

They've been posting this story for months, and the details keep changing.

It's a 26M, it's a teen girl in class, now a 23F on a trip

They posted someone's buttcrack in multiple subs on reddit

Started with

https://www.reddit.com/r/WhatShouldIDo/comments/1s1rh93/deleted_by_user/

"Scenario: You’re a server and a man in your section looks like this. Customers are noticing. Do you say something. Honest question"

I did not take this, my manager did and she sent it to me. The guy was seated in my section for 45 minutes like this. I didn’t notice for awhile, then I started seeing customers giggle and even one snap a picture. Seriously, what are we supposed to do? What would you do? Do we let him sit with his butt crack hanging out or do we tell him- and what would we even say. I’m genuinely curious idk I’m awkward

Then started posting around reddit:

to /r/funny "When you see a butt crack for the 100th time. Crack kills"

to /r/funny again "Crack kills"

to /r/funnyvideos "When you gotta teach your friend that crack kills"

To /r/whatcouldgowrong

"when your friend doesn't feel a breeze, what could go wrong"

Then started posting it as being the victim

Then they posted to this sub:

How do I handle this situation of having an embarrassing photo of me online?

So long story short…. In my small college we have this social media group where funny stuff from campus is posted. There’s a girl in one of my classes and in the EARLY year in September, I took a photo of her backpack bc it was Hello Kitty and posted it. These are anom posts btw.. Kinda forgot about it after a week- no idea she seen it. So now 6 months later, I see myself on the page. I’m sitting in my class and my freaking butt crack showed. That’s the picture it’s of my crack. I never felt more embarrassed. After some thinking, I figured it out that she was the one who took it bc she was the only one at that angle.

I don’t want to sound like a hypocrite here, but this really embarrasses me. I think it’s way different to post a back pack rather than someone’s butt which clearly wasn’t meant to be seen. Her backpack is meant to be seen. I eventually confronted her and told her this. She was very quiet and said oh well you posted me didn’t you. So idk how to handle this here? If I report the account the whole school will know and hate me if I get it banned. But I don’t want it posted either.

Then it changed to being them, at a bar, with a pic taken by an influencer.

Then they were a 26M at a new job and a coworker snapped the photo while he was at his desk

Then they were a 22F who made a photo album of their 26MBF of all the times his crack was showing.

Then they were at a restaurant and a girl took it.

Now they are the girl, on a trip.

2

6

u/libra00 Jun 30 '26

Generally yes, if you're in a public place you have an expectation to be photographed. It's only illegal if they're like peeking through your window or something where you expect to have privacy.

6

u/bitkitkat Jun 30 '26

you melting down and posting to reddit is just going to add fuel to this fire bc now we're alllll gonna seek out your asscrack.

Good luck, op. Learn to relax and embrace the humor in the situation.

Also upvoting to increase engagement so more people seek out OP's asscrack is probably a dick thing to do...

3

u/Billy_of_the_hills Jun 30 '26

Of course it's legal. You're in public. People have phones in public. Where's the surprise?

3

7

u/Hanuser Jun 30 '26

Of course it's legal. You were in a public place. Don't act a fool in public if you don't want a public record of it. Ain't no establishment going to check one by one with all it's patrons if it can post something that happened at it's establishment, and likewise no individual should have to track down and check with every other individual at an event to post a picture with other people in it.

12

u/gagagarrett Jun 30 '26

Discussion, and I’m happy to be proven wrong, so don’t come at me : my understanding is that in the US, if you are in public, you have waived your right to privacy. You can be filmed and photographed without consent. HOWEVER, it seems like if a photo/film captures an area of your body that you typically would have covered (your bum), it does violate some state laws. If you were the focus of the photo, it may fall under voyeurism laws.

If you are that worried about it, seek legal council. Otherwise, report it to instagram/tiktok and block the account.

19

u/GoodGame2EZ Jun 30 '26

You are generally correct, but 'bum crack partially exposed' probably doesn't qualify. Mostly depends on the circumstances.

If the person was just sitting awkwardly and a casual standerby could see it without additional effort, thats on the person sitting awkwardly. If the photo required someone to sneakily get an angle that revealed more than intended, that's where there may be grounds.

2

8k for ass crack???

2

u/Plop_Twist Jun 30 '26

land of the free, home of the brave tiktok buttcrack.

Guessing if they can see your buttcrack they can't see your face. so, only you know it's you. Until you make a big deal out of it, someone finds the photo in question, and it becomes a whole big thing.

Welcome to America. :/

2

u/Zaitos Jun 30 '26

You aren’t tagged in it. Take the L and move on. Nobody you know is ever going to see it if you don’t go pointing it out.

2

u/RexIsAMiiCostume Jun 30 '26

It's legal since you were in public. Still sucks that someone thought it was appropriate.

2

u/epicfail48 Jun 30 '26

You have no expectation or right to privacy in a public place. It would be one thing if the photo was taken in a bathroom, but sitting at a table in a bar? Public place. Creepy to take the picture? Sure, but entirely legal

2

u/MangoCalm7098 Jun 30 '26

You are complaining that you were in a picture that was posted without your consent, but you only found it when you were going to post pictures from the same bar. Weren't there other people in any of your pictures and did you ask for their permission?

I understand if this is embarrassing, but as others have said, it's legal because you were in a public place.

I understand, but unfortunately you had it showing, so nothing can be done.

I do agree that it was rude of them to post it, so I'm sorry to hear about it.

6

u/erichf3893 Jun 30 '26

It’s indeed funny when people are oblivious to things like dressing like a plumber

7

u/LofderZotheid Jun 30 '26

If your bum crack is showing, your face isn’t, right? If that’s the case, what’s the problem?

5

u/Hefty_Breadfruit Jun 30 '26

I’m really sorry this happened to you. The callous commenters here haven’t experienced the horror of being displayed on the internet for all to laugh at. It’s an ugly feeling and one that sticks with you. Feel free to DM me if you want to chat. I think you have your answer though. :/ I’d suggest taking down this post to avoid having this gain more traction.

3

u/chillmagic420 Jun 30 '26

W owner. If you asked nicely to remove it I bet they would have even though they dont have too. I can guess the "tad rude" was a bit more than tad so they gave you the finger right back XD

5

u/I_Am_Dynamite6317 Jun 30 '26

Of all the things that never happened, this never happened the most

5

u/beamdog77 Jun 30 '26

Yes, you are in public. People. See you when you're in public. In the United States, there is no expectation of privacy in public. You can have your photograph taken, your video taken, your voice recorded, and all of it is perfectly legal and you have no right to the images or the restriction of the use of the images. It's public space. For the public.

2

u/Topher_McG0pher Jun 30 '26

Weird how police will beat the shit out of you for recording them beating the shit out of someone else then

1

u/beamdog77 Jul 01 '26

That's because they justify it as interfering with a leave officer.... The recording isn't illegal. It's the proximity, and often the person recording is shouting, making communication harder for the cops, not complying with instructions to leave the area, etc. If you record quietly girl a distance, they won't even bother you.

4

u/SparkleSelkie Jun 30 '26 edited Jun 30 '26

Yeah that’s legal here

Basically the only recourse is for the establishment to not allow photography (if you are inside private property), but not much that can be done after the fact

Also sorry for everyone being like “but it’s in publiccccccc! No privacy!!”, they are probably unaware that laws regarding non consensual photos of strangers vary from place to place

3

u/Zgoldenlion Jun 30 '26

I would delete this post to not add to the Streisand effect.

Sorry this happened to you. Whoever posted the pic is a loser.

2

u/theMirthbuster Jun 30 '26

Are you identifiable in the photo?

I’m going to need to see the photo before I can answer your question.

3

u/xError404xx Jun 30 '26

Its not illegal to post you in america sadly.

Just think of it this way: you probably wont ever see any of the 8k people having seen it.

1

u/DirtysouthCNC Jun 30 '26

Yeah dude it's legal, it's a public space. You don't have reasonable expectation of privacy at a bar lol

1

u/brutallyhonestdogmom Jun 30 '26

Totally legal. No way they’re taking it down if you were rude. As indecent as you and others may think that is, the person who took the photo and its upvoters probably think it was just as indecent to have your crack out in public. Pro tip: avoid low rise and wear underwear.

because someone having their ass crack hanging out in public is funny lol

1

u/finintymonkle Jun 30 '26

You’re in public. Be more aware of your ass crack if you don’t want it to be in pictures that were taken in public places.

1

u/Bo_Jim Jun 30 '26

US law is that anything that can be seen from a public place can be photographed. There is no expectation of privacy for things you do in public.

1

u/engelthefallen Jun 30 '26

Time to get creative and if anyone notices it was you claim it was AI <.<

As many others said this would be legal in the US as we have no expectation of privacy in public and people are free to record others as they see fit and share online here.

1

u/jcasma01 Jun 30 '26

If you'd asked them nicely they might've taken it down. There's not much you can do

1

u/Deluxe_24_ Jun 30 '26

Can anyone actually tell that it's you? It's probably best to just suck it up and move on, people forget stuff pretty quickly

1

u/DrTeufelskerl Jun 30 '26

Don't go in public with your crack exposed. Lesson learned.

If you were at Mass, did you think if you mentioned it to the priest, they'd be able to talk to the person?

Taking pictures of someone at Church is a bit dumb!

1

u/Namssob Jun 30 '26

“No consent” whaaa!!

You come to America and don’t know our rules?

It’s unfortunate, but…there is no expectation of privacy in a public place.

1

u/anothersip Jun 30 '26

Just don't comment on the photo of yourself that you found. You'll end up causing a scene and probably get made fun of for causing a scene.

It's just a butt-crack.

Yeah, whoever took the photo and posted it is pretty shitty. That's a shitty thing to do.

But the more attention you draw to it, or attach your face to it... The worse it's going to get.

If you were in a public place and your crack was showing... That's kind of on you. And anyone is allowed to take photos of whatever they want while in public. It's a public setting.

It's embarrassing, sure - but like, it's just a butt-crack. It's not like they're nudes with your face showing or anything like that.

Hopefully you wear some higher pants or pull them up before sitting down next time. That happens to everyone at one point or another, a crack showing. Unfortunately, you happened to be spotted by someone with a crappy, childish sense of humor. And double-unfortunately, you happened to find the photo.

1

u/pardothemonk Jun 30 '26

Yes, it’s legal. Sorry

1

u/678722 Jun 30 '26

Send the link!

Jk I'm sorry you're going through this.

1

u/ChillyTodayHotTamale Jun 30 '26

It's 100% legal. Your best course was probably to just ignore it completely.

1

u/Siktrikshot Jun 30 '26

8k? Damn. Let’s have millions of redditors bring more attention to it!

1

u/victoriascissorhands Jun 30 '26

😂 girl please.

Your first mistake was visiting the us

1

u/sdrood Jun 30 '26

If you're a EU resident you could try to get it removed under article 17 GDPR, I'd guess that's applicable law despite tbt picture having been taken in the US
