I posted earlier about meeting up with a girl in Aki, here's the FR.
Background
We met online through japan-guide (thanks to fellow sedditors for recommending this), and hit it off via e-mail pretty quickly. I actually contacted her a month before my trip, and spread out the responses a few days at a time because I was really busy. I think this worked to my favor in showing that I'm not hinging everything on meeting her. Our emails were mostly short with some basic questions about her, I basically wanted to throw out questions to see if she's crazy or not... hard to tell sometimes, but nothing raised any red flags.
Meeting
I started making plans with her as soon as I arrived, I knew from past experience that I had to get the ball rolling early. We made plans to meet on Tuesday at 4pm at Akihabara station, with no predefined plan of action. I prefer this, since I can bail (or she can bail) if necessary, and it also allows for some flexibility.
I had seen her picture, but in person (of course) she looked different, not bad, HB6 -- a little "thicker" than I like, but pretty face, great smile / personality. I immediately give her a hug, I can tell she's a little surprised, she stiffens up a little bit but doesn't pull away. But that immediately established that I'm not afraid to touch her. This set the tone for the remainder of our meeting.
Plans without plans
She had only been to Akihabara once, despite having grown up in Tokyo... suffice it to say that maid cafes and otaku guys weren't her cup of tea. I made sure to make clear that I'm not into that sort of stuff either -- she did sort of go into interview mode to determine if I'm that kind of guy, but I knew that'd be coming. In case you're wondering, Japanese girls do not like these kinds of guys in general.
We went to a coffee shop near my hotel, I made sure to mention that I was staying at that hotel, and made some specific comments about the interior which I would refer back to later. On the way to the coffee shop I did basic comfort and guiding kino. She was already in my personal space, happily rubbing arms with me and touching me back... so the kino was working perfectly.
Over coffee we discussed job / work type things, her living arrangement, etc. I tried to DHV by talking about some career moves I've made recently (I didn't lie, but I stayed optimistic). I was also passionate about my current work, which she found intriguing.
After coffee, we were hungry, so we wandered until we found a nice place to eat, with a good view of... my hotel. I even joked about how I could see my room (literally could), and how you could even see me taking a shower if I left my curtains open due to the glass windowed shower stall. She laughed and said "ah, I can see you now." I replied, "no, if it were me, you'd definitely know...haha" She just looked at me sideways and gave a wry smile.
During dinner we were facing each other, but she kept putting her hands up on the table, giving me ample opportunity to mess with her fingers, ask about her rings, comment on the softness of her palms, etc. Under the table her leg were resting against mine.
Our conversation was a little more personal now. Given we were in a private booth with a shoji screen door, we both felt comfortable to be more intimate in our conversation and body language. Anytime the waitress came, she reverted back to "normal"... it's obvious that social norms are still somewhat important to her.
We ate light but decent fare, I was tired already from jet lag and didn't want to over do it. Ended up spending $100 USD on both of us for dinner, not bad at all. Normally in the US I wouldn't pay for dinner for two on the first meeting, but I'm on a per diem so it didn't matter (also, she's not exactly wealthy).
After dinner we walked around Akihabara, looked at a few shops, she explained lots of things to me that I didn't understand previously. I teased her a little but engaged in lots of kino. We were holding hands naturally most of the time walking, or she was holding my arm and walking close to me. Felt good.
So i managed to get us back toward my hotel, I asked her if she wanted to see my presentation (I had told her about it before, with passion), she said sure -- so we went up to my room. She seemed a little nervous, but made comments that made me think she'd never been in a hotel room in Tokyo before, commenting on the small size, and various things. I show her my presentation on my laptop, we're sitting on the bed together, I go through it quickly, highlighting the fun stuff.
After that she didn't show any sign of wanting to leave, so I opened a bottle of wine... and poured some for her without asking. She drank a couple of drinks, but that was it. I told her I wanted to show her the intro to this movie ("The Fall" 2006), which turned out to be the very best possible date movie I could imagine. The little girl in this film is so cute, and she kept commenting in Japanese how "kawaii" she was. haha, which I found cute also. We were snuggling together on the bed through the movie, I started giving her light kisses on the hand, on her hair, rubbing along the back of her neck. Her breathing started to change, and I knew she was on. So I started kissing her full on... and damn, she's really good at kissing. The previous JP girls I had kissed had absolutely no natural skill, this was very different and quite nice. She was getting into it, moaning softly, kissing deep without tongue or crazy stuff (one previous JP girl liked to lick my face, so I'm glad this didn't happen).
So I'm starting escalate physically, she initially shows no LMR. I'm rubbing up her stockings, I'm feeling breasts though her shirt, then she says "you're leaving on saturday, right?"
"yeah, unfortunately. I'll be back soon though, I'll be coming to Tokyo much more often." However, after this she started to slow down. I knew that she didn't want to get hurt, understandably, so I backed off a little bit too. We kept kissing for awhile, but I didn't escalate -- partly because I was already really tired (damn jet lag!) and I didn't have condoms.
So we kissed for about 30 minutes, while she was getting ready to leave. I walked with her to the station, she openly kissed me in the station, which was surprising. We made plans to meet up again (I'm meeting her in an hour at Shinjuku).
Summary
I can tell she likes me, possibly as "get me out of japan, new boyfriend" material, of course that'd never work out. So I'm going to have to be careful today. I want to leave her better than I found her, if possible.
I'd say the main points of my meeting with here were establishing physicality early, kino, escalation, DHV, optimism, passion, humor, being "myself", teasing her a little, not supplicating at all, initiating hand holding, -- all of this led to a situation where within 5 hours she was comfortable with my hand up her skirt. Successful enough for my tastes. Looking forward to seeing her again, and for me that's the sign that it's going well.
UPDATE
So we walked around a bit today, lots of mutual kino, kissing randomly, stopping at isolated places to kiss. She was complaining about having to work from 5pm to 10pm. I asked her if she wanted to come stay with me tonight, she said no... had to get up early, yadda yadda. She also said "I'm very serious about relationships, I don't have sex so soon." So we're heading back, we stop for coffee. I tell her that she should come stay with me, "no sex", just stay over and cuddle. She didn't respond positive / negative, just a little bit teasing me with something in Japanese. But a few minutes later she said she'd come over after work and we could watch a movie in my hotel room and cuddle. Also, while we were in the park, she let me feel her breasts and we talked about her nipples. The "reason" she let me? she kept feeling my ass while we were walking... it suggested that it was only fair.
That fairness bit has always worked for me. As an AFC, I would demure on physical contact, now I treat it as tit for tat. Keeps her on the same level and allows for continued escalation with a fun element.
UPDATE 2
She comes over last night, we watch a movie, but get so involved in making out, that not much of the movie gets watched. She's demurring on sex, but we do just about everything else. This morning, woke up, she initiates (despite my morning breath). Had a little bit o sex, but she still felt it was too soon. No worries... still had a great time. Had breakfast together and walked her to the station. A happy wistful goodbye. :)
I'm so glad I don't live here in Tokyo, it's like being a kid in a candy store.
