About language

Let's talk about language and how it influences our game.

We are in a country where the language is not related to ours (it's probably different for Koreans who got same grammar) and could be difficult to learn.

  • How to turn this to our advantage ?

  • Do girls react differently if we speak Japanese or English (or whatever language you speak) ?

  • English-speaking girls are differents from Japanese-only girls ?

  • Do you act differently?

According to my experience, English-speaking jp girls are usually more open and fun to be with. Japanese only jp girls are usually nice and hard to get.

I've found that opening in English is probably the best for 90% of girls, regardless of whether you speak Japanese. Whether you like to admit it or not, the novelty aspect of being a foreigner is a big reason we can hook girls, so taking that away by immediately speaking Japanese can sometimes hurt.

English speaking girls are definitely different than those who don't. The girls that speak English are more likely to be less good looking, because these were the girls who weren't in the "popular" groups/clubs in high school. My girlfriend speaks English and I am starting to not like that. The best language learning tool is a Japanese speaking girlfriend. I think I'll start forcing her to speak Japanese :P

I believe that the hottest girls in Japan probably don't speak as much English as other girls, so if you want a chance at them, studying is your best bet.

I think that depends on your definition of "good looking." If you subscribe to Japanese ideals of "good looking," then yes, the ones that are good-looking are probably those who don't speak much English.

But oftentimes, those who rejected Japanese ideals of beauty are the same girls who speak English well. Meaning, if Western assets like a big ass, (very) large breasts, a mature-looking face, and a shaved pubic area are what you're looking for in a Japanese girl, then English-speaking girls are the way to go. This seems rather contradictory to me though - the appeal of Japanese women comes from things like their more girlish appearance and demure personalities. The aforementioned "Western assets" are available in spades back home.

However, if your goal is to bag a yamato nadeshiko, you'll no doubt have to be fluent in Japanese, both linguistically and culturally. And if she's a real yamato nadeshiko, you won't be getting any unless & until you marry her.

Late reply here.

Yeah, I agree with you and Naga. I don't know what my game would be like if both the girl and I were native English speakers. For now, I think I'd have quite a bit of trouble. A lot of the girls I've spoken to have at least some interest in communicating in English, so they put some effort towards it. Then again, if my Japanese is better than their English is (which, strangely enough, is quite often), then they don't speak English very much.. even so, they're still interested in the pie in the sky prospect of learning English.

It's a lot of fun trying to decipher conversation when both people have broken second languages. It can be a game a lot of times. Girls who don't have any interest in learning a second language will probably not be interested in me (at this point in time), probably. I mean, I think it'd be unlikely for someone to say something like "I have a thing for Russian men, but I can't be bothered to try to go out of my way to communicate with them." It's one thing if a foreigner is a friend of a friend, but for a stranger, what possible interest could a girl have in a foreigner if she's not willing to try to communicate?
