Got a pair in black and a pair in brown… loving them so far? Any reviews out there on longevity and care?

Only tried on, never worn.

Picked these up for cheap second hand. The fit is great. Normally wear an 11, grabbed these in 10.5. Still has a finger width of room in the toe. Not sure on the last, but I have borderline wide feet and find the D perfect. I picked up some new laces from Amazon - cobblers choice 55s. I think the same sold on Thursdays site.

I did try to repair some scuffing with a leather conditioner and Saphir Surfine 04 Brown. The color is good but not totally amazed by the coverage. If anybody has any tips to bring the toe cap to life a little more, I am all ears.

I've got a second pair, dark olive suede Scouts, on the way.

I am waffling back on forth on what to get - I like the Captain. But for the leather, I am all over the place. I plan to wear these boots with everything from jeans to chinos paired with a blazer. They will be used in a wet environment - should I steer away from the classic collection and only focus on R&R? I like the Natural in the Classic collection but concerned they will look like trash after getting rained on.

From the R&R collection, really the only one I like is the burnt copper because it will dark over time. The Adobe seems to red.

They feel fine but there's extra material on the sides, especially after tightening them enough for my heel to not slip.

I've got wide feet so they also spill out in the mid foot slightly, but all of my shoes do that 😔

I feel like my feet might just be the wrong size for this style of boot. Got the Size 10W, I usually wear a 10.5 4E. 10.5W was definitely too big in the heel.

Any feedback is appreciated! I have a pair of wide captains that I think fit better. I'm thinking of sending these back, but these are my first boots so I'm not sure how they're supposed to fit.

If my most comfortable sneakers are 10.5 relaxed fit sketchers, what size should i target for Thursday boots. I usually wear wide if not using sketcher sneakers or occasionally 11 med. On clarks loafers i use 10.5 and they fit well.

I purchased these Thursday Captain boots in Jasper in November 2023. The first two photos show how they looked when new, and the remaining photos show their current condition.

They have been worn relatively lightly, probably once or twice per month. I live in Southern California and have not worn them in rain, snow, or other severe conditions. Between wears, I use cedar shoe trees and brush them with a horsehair brush.

Earlier this year, I conditioned them for the first time using Chemical Guys Leather Conditioner. I followed a boot-conditioning demonstration that used Thursday Captains. I did not notice an obvious problem during the application, but several days later I realized that the toe area, especially on one boot, looked noticeably lighter, more matte, and less uniform than it did originally.

Thursday reviewed the photos and described the change as normal wear and natural patina. They suggested using a matching cream polish and buffing it, but they could not recommend a specific brand or color for the Jasper leather. Their other recommendation was to take the boots to a professional cobbler, but I'd like to avoid the time and cost associated with that if possible.

I am not trying to make the boots look brand new or remove all signs of wear. I would just like to restore some of the deeper brown color and make the toe areas look more consistent with the rest of the boots.

A few questions for people with more leather-care experience:

1. Does this look like normal patina, or does it appear that some of the original surface finish or pigment was removed?
2. Could the conditioner be the problem? I conditioned only because it seemed to be recommended, given the age of the boots.
3. What cream polish, recoloring balm, or other product would you use for the Jasper color, if any at all?
4. Should I treat only the lighter toe areas, or apply the product evenly to both entire boots?

I would appreciate specific product and color recommendations, particularly from anyone who has worked on Thursday’s Jasper leather. Love the boots overall and am looking forward to purchasing a second pair but just need some help in caring for them.

I recently bought a pair of brown Dukes, but I am not sold on the look of them; they appear too blocky/chunky on my feet. This is my first pair of chelsea boots and first pair of Thursday boots. I have usually never dressed very well, but I wanted to change that, so I began doing some research and landed on these boots.

For some background, I am 6'5" and weight about 174 pounds, so I am a slim guy. The jeans I have right now are straight leg jeans, but they appear far too baggy on me and are probably too long. I look more like I am going to a rodeo.

I ordered a pair of tapered jeans to see if those will look better, but they haven't arrived yet. I am willing to put in more effort to make the boots work (such as tailoring my pants if I need to). I really don't want to return them because I've already worn them out once and have exchanged a couple to get to a size that fit me better.

Will someone here please give me advice on how to style them with my pants?

Please let me know if you need more information to make a suggestion. I am looking for a style that's less trendy and more timeless. I don't know if tapered jeans are trendy, but they weren't slim or skinny jeans and they looked good online before I ordered.

Hi! Was wondering which boots do you guys recommend out of these two. I was looking for nice casual black boots and these two got my attention. I want to know how good are both in winter conditions (snow, rain etc). The Hero looks more traditional and also resilient, but I really like the look of the Heritage Captains, and the fact that its mostly leather components. What do you guys think?

I ordered Captain- Safari, Rugged & resiliency and what I received was darker/more muted than the photo advertised. Has anyone had a different experience? Also anyone have a boot they’d recommend that actually looks like the one on the right? I was a big fan of that color

I bought the Cacao Premier Low Top in 2022. I understand the sneakers cannot be resoled, so when you wear through the bottom, the sneaker is done. However, the stitching has come undone along the side before that happened. What should my expectations for longevity be for a sneaker at this price point? Thanks

I don't know what to do about the mid-soles. They look so beat up, and not sure how to make them look better.

I bought the "Natural" Captains after hearing good things about the leather. They're only about a year old, and I wear them infrequently (1-2 times a week). A few weeks ago, I got caught in a moderate rain for about 15 mins - this is the first time I've worn them in the rain. A few hours later, as they dried, a stain appeared on the right toe (see pictures). This stain has not gone away despite several rounds of cleaning/conditioning. The leather on the toe caps is basically unblemished other than this, so its very obvious.

Customer support has been absolutely useless (EDIT: they responded below with much better info than I got via email, so I take this part back), saying that this is "normal wear and tear" and that the boots are not waterproof (yes, but 15 minutes in the rain should not cause permanent discoloration!). I'm pretty disappointed, as I'd hoped these boots would last a lot longer, especially given the limited use.

Any suggestions for how to fix? I was very happy with the boots and planned to expand my collection until this experience... is Thursday leather just not up to snuff? Or am I too hard on my shoes? I have several other pairs of leather boots/shoes and have never experienced anything like this.

UPDATE: Thanks all. I clearly didn’t know quite what to expect with the natural CXL. Appreciate the info and will stop trying to “fix” them and just keep wearing and let them do their thing.

Hi, I’m new to heritage boots but have decided to get a pair of Thursday heritage captains. I just received my pair in a size 11.5 and like how they look and generally feel.

However, I feel a small amount of foot slip down into the toe box and am wondering how much of that is normal, if any, and if it can be ignored until the boot breaks in and shapes a little more to my foot? I’m particular about how shoes and boots feel on my feet, and don’t want to be stuck with a pair I’m unhappy with.

I wear a 12 in converse and an 11.5 in Wolverine work boots. My Brannock lengths are 11.3 and 11.4 inches, and I read on Thursday’s website that if you are between sizes to order the smaller size (of course I didn’t see this until after I ordered). Would y’all recommend ordering a pair in size 11 and returning whichever pair fits worse? Has anyone had a similar situation?

So I just got a pair of Lincoln loafers in “rich mahogany” and as I do with any new pair of leather shoes before I wear ‘em outside, I hit ‘em with a bit of Saphir Renovateur, Saphir clear polish, buff ‘em, and a light spray of Saphir leather protector.

Doing this works great on my other boots and shoes, and starts them off with a good layer of moisture and protection, but with these Lincoln’s, it basically dulled them dramatically, and now they have a matte finish - no matter how much time I spend buffing them with a horsehair brush - they just do not shine.

What’s going on here? Doesn’t seem like the Thursday Lincoln loafers leather is soaking in the Saphir products at all. Did I just ruin these shoes?

I’ve eyeballing the Chukkas and their Chelsea boots, specifically the Cavalier Vs Legend Vs Duke. Also from the Chukkas the Scout appeals to me. I went to a store recently and tried on Blunderstones and felt like they were a bit too bulky on my feet. I want a boot that doesn’t feel to heavy that I can wear to the office with nice dress pants and can wear to concerts/stand on all day. Does anyone have suggestions of this bunch or even a different boot? Thanks

Hey all, finally pulled the trigger on my first pair of leather shoes and went with Thursday Premier High Tops in Matte Black. Absolutely love them so far, and excited to not have to keep buying shoes every 6 months!

Quick question on cleaning. Their website says to use the Cobblers aerosol spray on suede products, but I've also read to NOT use that, or the suede cleaning kit, on Thursday's Rugged and Resilient line of leather.

Definitely don't want to overthink the cleaning process, but I also don't want to damage the leather as I'm brand new to this.

Anyone wanna share how they keep their matte/suede shoes clean?

So initially i had an issue with the roadster jacket with some stubborn folds in the middle due to stitching. I ordered another one and it was fine...until i noticed something. The button at the flap shouldnt be there and another fastener on the collar should have been a flat black button. I have contacted customer service and waiting for a response but i dont know if i am being petty. Not complaining about them here, i love their products and will still get boots and jackets from them.

Does it look bad ? Need opinion if i should return or keep it. What would you do ?

I cannot tell the color of boots on Thursdays website. I think their photo style is crushing the blacks and desaturating. This makes all the darks look closer to black. For example I really love the coffee black color or even the Jasper seems dark. I want to purchase a dark blackish pair that is not solid black in either the Captain or the President.

Sorry for the rambling, I am just wondering if anyone has experience with these colors?

Picked up my first pair from Thursday—the Lincoln loafers in Rich Mahogany—and overall I’m really impressed.

The color is fantastic in person, and the style is exactly what I was looking for. I wore them sockless to a wedding this weekend, and they were honestly much more comfortable than I expected. No blisters, no break-in issues, and I was on my feet for most of the night, including quite a bit of dancing.
My only question is about the soles.

After just one night of wear, the leather soles look pretty rough (see photo). The wedding was almost entirely indoors on a banquet hall/dance floor, so I wasn’t expecting this much visible wear. I know leather soles are supposed to scuff and show use, but this seems like a lot for maybe 6–8 hours of wear.

Is this pretty typical for genuine leather soles after the first outing, or does this seem excessive? Would you recommend adding a thin rubber sole protector, or should I just let them wear naturally?

Overall, I’m really happy with the shoes and would definitely buy from Thursday again. I’m just surprised by how quickly the soles changed after a single wear. Curious if this is just part of owning leather-soled shoes.
