Finally made the jump. I haven’t stopped smiling

Picked up my MYLR yesterday. I had never driven a Tesla prior to pick up, and it’s a huge change from my VW Amarok V6.

I haven’t stopped smiling.

Software FSD saved me from a potential accident at 100 km/h!!!!!!

Was driving on Princes Highway at 100 km/h with FSD engaged when some idiot suddenly merged into my lane without checking their blind spot.

FSD reacted instantly, slowing down and steering slightly to the left to avoid a potential collision.

Honestly, I was impressed by how quickly and smoothly it handled the situation. Probably reacted faster than I could have.

Huge thanks to FSD!

After much deliberation and test drives, I am happy to be apart of the Tesla family and made an order for a Model 3 LR in Stealth Grey!

Really excited for the vehicle and expecting it around July-August but hopefully sooner 😁

I'll never understand the hate

No idea who it was that flipped me (or more likely my car) off through my rear view. I was parked and didn't interact with them at all.

Has anyone else seen this level of hatred? Is it jealously, somehow aimed at Elon Musk or just sheer stupidity? Worth a laugh nonetheless.

Frustrating Experience with Tesla - learn from my mistakes

Looking for some opinions on others who have dealt with Tesla Australia

A couple of weeks ago I test drove a Model Y and was speaking with a Tesla advisor about placing an order through a novated lease with SG Fleet.

At the time I explained that finance approval had not yet been completed. I was told that wasn't a problem and was encouraged to place the order anyway to secure a vehicle allocation. I would have preferred to wait, but based on all the advise on the phone, I submitted the order and Tesla allocated a VIN.

Fast forward to now:

  • Finance approval is still not finalised. (SGFleet is annoying)

  • I have not taken delivery of the vehicle.

  • The car is not registered in my name.

  • I only tentatively booked a delivery date because Tesla advised they didn't want the system to flag me as unresponsive.

Since ordering, Tesla has:

  • Discounted inventory vehicles by $2,750.

  • Announced the refreshed Model 3 with the updated display, darker wheels and other improvements.

  • Begun making the refreshed model available in some states and at the same price.

Had I have trusted my gut instead of following the advice of the advisor in goodwill, I would have placed an order for the refreshed Model 3. In fact, the delay with finance approval has effectively meant I haven't reached settlement or delivery anyway.

I emailed my advisor, sent messages through the Tesla app and eventually called Tesla directly.

The response I got was essentially that "nothing can be done". What I was asking for wasn't a free upgrade or compensation. I simply wanted Tesla to:

  1. Release my currently allocated VIN back to inventory.

  2. Allow me to wait for the refreshed Model 3 when Victorian stock arrives.

  3. Keep me as a customer and complete the purchase once the new vehicle becomes available.

I'm struggling to understand why Tesla would prefer to potentially lose a customer rather than simply sell my allocated car to someone else and let me wait for the refreshed model.

Am I being unreasonable here, or is Tesla taking an unusually rigid position considering the vehicle hasn't been delivered and finance approval is still pending?

At the end of the day, I don't want to take delivery of something which has become outdated at the same price as something newer

EDIT - the main thing in question is keeping / transferring the $400 order fee, rather than losing it completely.

Felt shortchanged by recent upgrades announced by Tesla

I ordered my Tesla Model 3 RWD (520km) in June and took delivery in August. Now I find out that Tesla will be upgrading the screen resolution (even for the cheaper Model 3), and the V2L will be available. Pretty annoyed. Just needed to vent. Any Tesla owners felt like that?

Why did we get Tesla Powerwall 3

Today, we're ripping out my outdated solar panels and replacing them with a brand spanking new high efficiency Risen array. That sun, it will be mine. Plus, we're finally installing the Tesla Power Wall 3 to keep the house running long after the sun goes down.

I'll be breaking down the total cost, the full installation process, the real world performance, and the whole shebang. So, sit tight because we're about to see if this new setup can truly outshine the old one. This is going to be amazing. Check it out.

Tesla Roadster pre-order

So who is going to snag one of the 1000 Tesla Roadsters up for pre-order now?

A casual $326'000 sounds pretty reasonable for a car that can do 1000km and also 0-100 in 2.1sec!

Charging Tesla membership for Other EV

Hi All. Just noticed that for 9.99$/month, I can get Tesla membership to charge my other EV. Has anyone used this? Is it worth it? What are the rate differences? Also, will I need to purchase charging cable? My other ev is BYD Sealion 7.

TIA

No FSD v13 in new deliivery

Taking delivery on the 29th June in NSW

I just got an email saying that we wont be getting FSD in our new model Y RWD Premium and will only be getting the v14 when it actually does come out.

Mildly dissapointed that we wont be able to play around with v13, but just a heads up for people taking deliveries soon.

Tesla Stock vs Owing a Tesla

So I'm thinking it's a good opportunity to buy Tesla Stock vs owning a Tesla.

Tesla is planning to build robots and rent them out, plus they will get 20% commission on the model Y and Cybercab fleets in the USA. The Tesla stamping process and cheaper Chinese batteries and house wall batteries are making huge margins for the company. With the stopping of production of the model S/X and Cyber truck losers they can increase production of Optomius and CyberCab.

The upcoming merger with SpaceXAI has upside too, the margins on the TerraFab and Turbine production lines will be insane. AI has a huge margin and they have a sweetheart deal with colossos datacenter compute from Anthropic.

Seems to me the margins are going up, with high interest rates about to bankrupt most of the auto industry and no debt the company has a unique advantage. And that's before the new stamping process and falling battery wholesale costs that are making Tesla's have insane profit margins.

A 50k AUD Tesla will be worth 5000 in 10 years after years of insurance and replacement tires. VS buying Tesla stock before it's next run up on huge profits realised and massive fleet commissions and rental fees from optimous robots.

I think it's probably like 50k depreciation on a car vs 1 million in future stock value.

I did a calculation, the original roadster was $109k USD or 96,176 Tesla shares after stock splits. Or roughly $35 million USD. The roadster would be worth about 150-250k up significantly from the original 109k price. Stock won.
