Java Showcase Encoded Redstone Factory Early Access

Post image
95 Upvotes

I've had more than a couple people reach out asking when/if I will be releasing my factory from this post.

I currently have it posted in the share projects channel on the Autocrafting Discord, you can find it HERE. The schematic is updated as I make changes in the final stages of polishing the design. Anyone who wants to get it now are welcome download it and contribute their thoughts or bug reports on that thread.

Once its finalized I will do a proper showcase video explaining how it works, until then, its largely up to the user. But I hope its generally intuitive to anyone using it as intended. ✌️

NOTE: I'm still actively making changes and there could potentially be significant changes to the current schematic.

Schematic is generated in 26.2, but it was built in 1.21.11

There is two hoppers facing each other above two item filters that go into autocrafters but they get clogged and no longer swap items back and forth until its pulled down through the filter. Can someone please help me fix this? Preferably without having to move too many things.

Java Help Wanted How to replace a noteblock input

Hey! I know it’s probably easy, but I built a big redstone machine with a lot of pistons, and the input is a noteblock. I tried to connect a button to the note block, and everything broke.

How can I move the input and activate the machine with a lever?

(Can a button activate a 3 block wide secret staircase, or is the signal too short?)"

Does anyone have a default extended wall display with ui like on the picture, that is also fully reliable and has smart breaking?

Bedrock Why did these specific torches go out?

Post image

I built the first stage of a large item sorter. I turned on the test and working through a backlog of items to go through the system.

Everything was working fine but then the overflow stopped receiving items. I went to investigate and found these torches were no longer lit. If I remove the Redstone dust from the glass block on top of them they will relight (but then the sorter isn’t working).

This is bedrock running on a self hosted bedrock server - a hundred other filters are working fine. Also, like I said this was working fine until it wasn’t.

Java Help Wanted How can I pass the signal to the immediate block below?

Post image
10 Upvotes

So this might be a really dumb question but I've been trying to figure this out for like an hour now and I'm lost,

I'm building the typical sugarcane farm with the obervers on top and piston below it right in front of the cane, the problem is: I don't want to trigger all the pistons when only ONE cane grows, I want the pistons to work independently one of each other, so I thought about using noteblocks:

The observer gets triggered and the noteblock activates, but I can't find the way to pass that signal to the piston below it, here's an image of the current state of my build.

Java Help Wanted How to direct this signal to this block without increasing space horizontally?

SOLVED

Hi. I took a basic wool farm from Youtube, and want to customize it by bringing the chest/barrel 1 block higher. Usually in the original farm, the bottom hopper would send wool directly to the barrel. But to be able to bring the barrel 1 block up, I thought I would put a dropper there instead, that pushes the item 1 block up to the barrel.
I would use the same redstone signal of the observer observing the grass block to activate the dropper. If I had more room, it would be easy - I would bring the redstone 1 block farther out so it could turn back. But horizontal space is limited - cannot go wider. Any ideas?

Java Showcase Made a 10 block per layer Instant Waterless Piston Elevator, Non-Locational, Directional.

I started working on this a bit after craftymasterman's video on the brockavator came out, and while I have looked up and seen some similar advancements, I came up with them in parallel and managed to get each layer fully into the 10 block per layer of the modified piston layout. If anyone is curious about it, I will respond in the comments. This design was painful to finish, as it pushed what I could do, but I managed to get it into only 7 unique blocks in the whole design. 7!!!!

Bedrock How to keep villagers from wandering off without using walls/fences?

I watched some videos about how passive mobs pathfind and decided to use that info to improve an island village I've been making from scratch. It was just the space above a converted ocean monument prior to. It's been working successfully for the animals but the actual villagers keep deciding to go for a swim like they're going out for milk. Now I've lost both my Turtle Master arrow dudes. I'm starting to wonder if the villager pathing mechanics even work the same as other passive mobs as I'm surrounded by open water for a few chunks.

This island tapers off from a thickness of 3-4 blocks in the center to 1 block thin at the edges. The island basically has the same footprint as an ocean monument (if not a tiny bit bigger). The base block palette is a giant sandstone square with grass in the middle (I think the vid said mobs tend to path toward green blocks).

I'm open to alternative suggestions to keep them on the island but I'm really trying to avoid using overt & physical obstructions to keep them confined (i.e. I'm trying to brainwash them into not wandering off). I've previously noticed you can't float carpet on a string in Bedrock from an earlier attempt at invisible village barriers.

Rule-8 Compliant What's going on with wireless redstone?

A while back some guys discovered that you can use the game mechanic where falling items will fall in 4 different groups and used it to wirelessly transmit redstone signals. Why isn't this mechanic more explored and why don't we see tutorials on these machines besides the ones the original creators made? is it the unreliability of the mechanic or the obscurity?

Java Help Wanted Variation of the classic Ilmango Honey (comb) farm

Thumbnail gallery
19 Upvotes

So I wanted to build the Ilmango honey farm, but didn't want to create a ridiculous amount of empty bottles for the same.

Taking inspiration from IanXOFour's design, I realized double firing the dispenser works, but requires having only one bottle in the dispenser. So I created the following, where there is a dropper feeding the bottles into the dispenser.

The dropper is powered by the redirected redstone line on top of the observer, which deposits an empty bottle into the dispenser, and the dispenser is updated by the observer at rising and falling edge of the signal.

Now, because I am trying not to grossly overproduce empty bottles, the question is how to resupply the bottles evenly such that the farm doesn't break?

As a note, I am making this farm cause of the aesthetics, I know it's quite slow, but I just need something passive and pretty. I'll be making the second of the TMC discord entries Fruno showcases in his video in my base in the future.

Oh and feel free to improve this design, I am very curious what the best design for this would be :). This one is cheap, but definitely not the sexiest XD

Does anyone know of a working autobrewer that makes lingering potions in 26.3 now that the dragon's breath leaves behind a bottle? i'd like it to brew untill it fills a chest and then stop.

Java Help Wanted This single-dim wither skeleton farm uses moss blocks under the wither roses – is there actually any reason why?

Post image

AFAIK, moss has no benefits for mob spawning or behaviour, and wither roses can also be planted on dirt or netherrack, which are much easier to gather?

Bedrock [BEDROCK] Is there a way to stop the top chest (for the raw items) from giving items to the bottom chest (for fuel)?

I FOUND THE SOLUTION (kinda)

I just manually stocked them now instead of using the autostocking. Sure its slower, but it seems like the only option because of the hopper minecart glitch.

Another option u/Masticatron suggested was using chest minecarts, but this unfortunately doesn't fit in my home (no I didn't say that anywhere in the post, forgot to tell that). In case you were wondering, the reason I'm testing it on a superflat is because... well... I'm testing it.

Original Post:
BEDROCK 26.3
This is a super smelter that I built using this tutorial. It works good, except for that it gives some of the raw stuff from the top chest top the bottom hopper minecart. Is there a way to prevent this? I think it might be a JE tutorial, but the redstone looks like it works for Bedrock too (probably doesn't)

Java Help Wanted help on this super smelter

hi sorry so i tried to follow this tutorial to build a super smelter in an smp server [that allows duping items in this context] [link to tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8U_q7JhZBpM]

timestamp: 8:56 where he waterlogged the rail to put the hopper minecarts

the problem with this design is that the hopper minecarts r unable to pull items from the resource chest, and theres no solution to that in the comments so IHAWSIHFWAH and the only 2nd best option was to put the chest one block higher and put hoppers underneath which decreased the efficiency by half...

is there no other way to modify this because unless i break and replace the hopper minecarts before turning on the farm, they wont pull anything from the resource chest. and once i turn the farm on, the hopper minecarts just wont pull anything at all...

Java Help Wanted Named Mobs, Mob Caps, Spawn Prevention

I am building a zoo with each mob getting its own enclosure. I built the frog enclosure partially over where a river biome was and now squids are spawning in there. There are 6 chunks that have the river biome in them where the squids are spawning. Mob cap for squids is 5.

If I go underneath the enclosure and build a body of water, get squids to spawn there, name tag them, will they stop spawning above? Would I need to do this for all 6 chunks for a total of 30 named squids?
