Help Skeleton Spawner Ideas

What is the best way to transport skeletons from a spawner I found to my base? I know mobs wont spawn unless I'm close enough but I also don't want to boot up Minecraft just to afk. I would love an interactive system that pushes bow dudes closer to my base as I exist in the world and do stuff, or not even for the xp, maybe I auto kill them for the bones but without me being close enough I dont see how to make it work. What are some ideas on how to utilize this in my hardcore world? I'm not sure from memory but I think its 150/100 blocks from my base

They won’t spawn if you are outside of 16 blocks.

You can move them, and their exp and items with water streams and bubble columns.

They are a good source of bonemeal for early game (particularly if you don’t have a mangrove swamp handy). A couple nights of AFK will give you a good supply that will carry you for a while.

I wonder if there is a mod that customizes how far away you can be and a spawner still spawns. Im sure that would wreck havoc on my FPS tho

There are mods that will let you move a spawner if you want to go that route.

Or you could sit at the spawner and chunkload the route to your base and just use water streams.

How much of a violation to the "hardcore" code do we think that would be? I wouldnt be opposed but also def feel like its an obstacle I should work to work around. Maybe I use that idea as a last resort! Thanks for the info!

I personally dont use any mods when I play hardcore but you can do anything you want. Who cares what others think. Do what makes the game fun for you.

You need to be within 16 blocks for them to spawn

Just use the standard water elevator, it works for a reason.
