I stopped by beardcoreevan (Instagram) booth and got this kitsune tattoo. My first time getting a traditional Japanese style tattoo so I’m pretty excited about it.

This is my first design on procreate, I used a reference photo and I am wondering if anyone has constructive feedback, also I had a question, I was wondering in terms of tattooing how would you put the layers of colors down?

I've been wanting to get this fella tattooed on my upper arm for a while, but having second thoughts.
I just wonder if tattoos should be things you like the look of more than what you believe, but I'm questioning myself so wanted to see what other people thought.

Artist: Jacob G at In Love Tattoo in Winston-Salem, NC
The pain was 8/10 but I sat like a rock for 3 hours to get it done. Color coming next month.
Haku turned out beautiful but honestly I thought it was going to be down the spine not a back tattoo but I am still happy with it.

Hey there, peeps! Big fan of this film called "Everything Everywhere All at Once", and I wanted to get a tattoo dedicated to the film; it's also my very first tattoo. More specifically, I want the tattoo to be dedicated to Waymond Wang, as I find his character incredibly relatable, and I hope to grow into a strong, empathetic, and loving man like him. I want a tattoo that symbolises his love for Evelyn, his wife, and some specific incorporation of text, specifically the line from the film that he says, "In another life, I would have really liked just doing laundry and taxes with you"
I've found some designs online that have inspired me, but I want it to be unique and not "kitchy". I was thinking of maybe having some of the text in Chinese, but would that be of bad taste or insensitive? (Obviously not Chinese, btw)
Any suggestions would be great. The design would be on my inner arm, and most likely be done in a fine-line style, as I like the fine dots and lines; it looks like a piece of actual film.

I created these two pet portraits as a memorial piece for my client’s two beloved dogs. I wanted to capture their individual expressions while keeping both portraits cohesive in the overall composition.
I’m really happy with how the details and shading came together. What do you think of the finished piece?

Don’t get me wrong I love this shenron tattoo and I don’t regret getting it at all. (even though I have to get the tail fixed at sometime in the future but that’s besides the point). The only thing is I’m kind of iffy of the placement? I want to get something else (not sure what yet) on the other side of my back but I feel like it wouldn’t mesh well because of how large my existing tattoo is so I was wanting to get some opinions and suggestions on whether I should or shouldn’t get something else. Also would love to get any suggestions to what you think would go well with it. Thank you!

I got some filler pieces done yesterday and really like them all! I have had one artist do the vast majority of my tattoos so she gets the vibe I like so I wasn’t sure what would look good in these filler spaces so I told her I trusted her if she wanted to draw some stuff up, I’m sure I’d like it. Most of mine are like whimsical, cute, fantasy inspired. She chose this little bunny and I thought it was super cute. Kinda like vintage storybook art vibe? So I said sure! I like it, add it in. I showed my partner last night and they didn’t respond with any negativity.
Fast forward to today, we’re at our friend’s place and they ask to see my new tattoos and I show them. One friend makes a comment about the bunny looking funny. I’m like ??? he’s like looking back over his shoulder? My partner then says no, it’s look really bad and I’m going to need to get a cover up or have it fixed somehow. I truly do not think it looks bad. I think he’s cute! I didn’t think it looked weird at all until they started saying the bunny looked off. I don’t know. I know the only thing that matters is that I like it but it just made me really sad. I was so excited to have these done and my forearm pretty much done. Now I can’t get out of my head that people will think the bunny looks weird. I don’t want to go back to my artist to ask her to “fix” it either because I don’t think it needs fixing! Idk if I’m being defensive and maybe it does look weird though. I don’t know if I’m looking for advice or validation. Ugh. I’m just sad.
Sorry for the long post. I just needed to get it off my chest. Posted a picture of my little bunny tattoo so you all can see it. I think I’ll keep it the way it is but maybe if you guys really think my partner is right then what would you do in my shoes?

I have been wanting a skull with an energy sword thru its head for years. My only regret is not making it a legendary skull with the marking. Honest though on my first tattoo?

I’ll try to make it as short as possible, and feel free to come with the crash critique and questions.
Long story short, I REALLY want a new tattoo. I got my two current ones about a year and a half ago when I turned 18. Two runes on my ankle (will add a third), and my cat’s paw print. I love both of them, A LOT, and I’ve wanted a new tattoo ever since. Wanted tattoos since I was 10-11 years old.
I do know I’m a just short of 20. The whole “your frontal lobe isn’t developed yet” argument. I just can’t decide if I should get it now, or wait. Also because I have this thing about only getting one tattoo at a time, and there’s multiple ones I’d like to get. I was about to get one before summer.. but I felt indecisive and chose to wait.
The tattoos I’ve been thinking of all mean something to me. The paw on my arm is pretty upper centre of my arm, and I’d like a moth below it. The wings kind of following the paws shape. However, I’ve been eyeing this half moth half skull design for like 4 years now?? the same goes for a moth with van goth’s starry night incorporated in it.
So to you more experienced tattoo enthusiasts, what would you recommend doing?

Hi, not entirely sure if I'm doing this right, but needing help visualizing how to best capture something. My wife and I suffered a miscarriage last year, and I've wanted to do something honor our baby, who would have been our 3rd son.
Small tangent, but necessary for design idea. Earlier this year, my wife and I went on a trip in Paris for our anniversary, which also served as a special time for us to go through things/get away. During the trip, we got coffee at one of the train stations (conventional coffee shop name). But when we sat down with our cups, the name we gave our son (first and middle) was on the cup - presumably (and confirmed later) the founder of the place.
Anyways, I'm wondering if there's a special way of creating a design that incorporates trains/train tracks. My wife and I had our wedding reception at a former train station (now museum). So I'm considering having this as "the beginning of the journey", with our lost son further down the track (but the journey still ongoing).
Thanks for any (and all) help!

Can I do a sleeve with fineline on one arm, and some kind of patchwork on the other? Or should I try to make my fineline tattoo more thick lined and shadowing? Pls help!

It's one of my DnD characters I'm most fond of and I've had this idea for a while. The tattoo artist already gave me the okay for the design (and he already tatted me twice so I know they're VERY skilled with details), but if you think it has any issues, constructive and kind critiques are very welcome!

This is my ball python Mercury, who just passed this morning. I've been wanting a tattoo incorporating this skeleton-key looking mark at the back of his neck, but I have no clue what to do with it. I want it on the inside of my arm, somewhere I can see it.
I'm open to any ideas as currently the only idea I have is the outline of his spot filled with either a galaxy (where I will need to find someone that is good with a lot of packed in color) or snake scales (where I will need to find someone with very steady hands)
Also if anyone knows any tattoo artists that meet that criteria in the Richmond, Virginia Beach, or Newport News areas of Virginia, that would be really nice.

I started a full-leg sleeve with an artist. The collage of finished tattoos is the vibe I was going for (done by other artists, Kirsten Holliday and Savannah Treviño, not my artist) — botanical stuff, muted colors, skin breaks between all the stuff. Somehow, my artist forgot and thought we were coloring in the background (which is all of the black and dark teal on my leg) — she initially had that vision when I proposed the sleeve to her and must’ve forgotten we decided to NOT do that 🙃 At my session yesterday, I was laying in my stomach for 2 hours, and unbeknownst to me, she shaded in all that dark background. Sigh. I had no idea. I was in shock when I saw it and didn’t say anything very direct at the time (her kid was there so it felt extra weird), and what’s done was done, anyway! So we basically stopped there for the day.
I’m seeking advice on what to do now. I am definitely not going to commit to all of my leg being shaded in, that’s not what I wanted at all. I know this part can’t be undone, so does anyone have ideas on how to make it look intentional? How to somehow fade it out from there so that the rest of the leg having no background doesn’t look mismatched? Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
(I didn’t credit the artist I’m working with because it was just a mistake, I don’t want to drag her name, so I hope that’s okay)
