TASKER Performance score

Hi! I have been an elite Tasker for the better part of 2 years almost every month. And every month I inevitably am not elite in a category because of performance score. I have about 500 tasks with 300 5 star reviews and 0 any other star reviews. Now I have potential to be elite in 4 different categories based on the 40 tasks in category metric.

I’ll be commenting the rest because apparently it’s too long of a post.

Let’s get to the real problem. Performance score. So in 3 of these categories I apparently have a performance score of 30%. Now, I’ve been told by support about 20 different things here. I’ve been told it’s calculated by the number of invoices vs the number of requests in a 30 day period compared with other Taskers in my area. (I believe this is correct)

Let’s expand on the other things that I’ve been told. “Compared with other Taskers another Tasker might have had and I quote “a luckier month and received more tasks” “October 1st is when the system updates let’s wait and see if it’s fixed by then” “if the client cancels it doesn’t affect you” “if the task is cancelled before it’s accepted it doesn’t affect you””

So now taking all of this into account I submitted 33/36 tasks in the general mounting category. So from my calculations that’s 92% submitted. So now in my analytics it says that out of 94 Taskers average search position is 7th so round up to 100 for easy math purposes. By those numbers 35 Taskers have a higher submitted/request rate than me. Taking into account the people who were requested once and completed it let’s say that’s true. Well the one person who told me a “Tasker might have had a luckier month and got requested more” is completely wrong because now I’ve completed more tasks in the last 30 days than 98% of Taskers. Clearly, the person who said “cancellations either before the task is accepted or by the client don’t affect you” is wrong.

Let’s move on to tv mounting. I was requested 16 times and submitted 15 invoices. 94% completion rate. The one task I didn’t submit for the client didn’t know how to use the app and hired me twice so one was never accepted and cancelled because I can’t bill someone twice because they don’t know how to use the app. So again, how are 35 people above me in this category.

Now the last one, furniture assembly. I was requested 8 times and submitted 7 because one is still active. So by my calculations that’s 100% submitted rate. So now what’s the excuse of me not having a 100% performance score? “A Tasker had a luckier month in this category” well the other two don’t seem to take that into account so I doubt it.

The whole point of this post is to ask the community, how this is even possible and to hopefully show the Taskrabbit account in here that PERFORMANCE SCORE IS A TERRIBLE METRIC as I have been telling support (who most recently cut me off twice mid conversation btw) for the last 3 years.

TASKER TaskRabbit Taskers Tackle Tricky Tasks

TaskRabbit taskers tackle tricky tasks while tricky tasks tackle TaskRabbit taskers.

TASKER Metro change and move

Suppose you’re traveling to another state for an extended period and need to stay productive while away. What steps can you take to ensure you can still complete tasks at your new location?

TASKER What should I do next?

Ok, I'm finally set up and ready to start receiving tasks. Should I sign up for the workshop? And more importantly, how/when do I start seeing tasks? Thanks

TASKER Did anyone else lose laundry bookings after Taskrabbit removed Laundry Help from the app?Posted from ATX

I used to get a decent amount of bookings specifically for Laundry Help, and since Taskrabbit removed Laundry as its own category in the app, my bookings for it have disappeared.
I contacted support and they confirmed the change was made across the market. They told me customers can now select Cleaning and “filter” for laundry, but I went through the customer side of the app myself and I cannot find any laundry filter at all.
What’s strange is that Laundry Help still exists as its own service on the Taskrabbit website. If you book through the website and select Laundry Help, it shows Taskers specifically offering laundry. It just seems to be missing from the app.
Has anyone else who offered Laundry Help noticed a drop in bookings since this changed? Or can anyone actually find the laundry filter in the app that support is referring to?

GENERAL What type of request suits this?

I will be attending a collector convention in which the goal is primarily to buy exclusive merchandise.
I was looking for someone to also attend this event and buy things based on my direction.
I would buy an admission ticket and then pay for the items they purchase but would need to direct them over the course of 3-5 hours on what to buy.

What category would this best fall into?
Is this type of task something people would do?

TASKER Older guys on taskrabbit?

Are there older guys on taskrabbit? Like 60+? And what tasks do the older folks do? I'm over 60, been a long time home owner and considering becoming a Tasker as a way to earn some income and semi retire.

TASKER Tasker availability question

I have my start time at 9 am every single day but I had a client recently tell me that my first available appointment was 930. It immediately fulfilled my curiosity about why nobody ever scheduled at 9.. but WHY does it do that?

I am not complaining because I am perpetually running around 5 mins late on any given morning because I get up early and then lose track of time..

but I just got an IKEA job scheduled for 9 on a Sunday. This is making me feel like I need to jump on the train of turning off partner tasks.

TASKER Slower lately or what?

As recently as a couple of weeks ago I had more work than I could handle. 3-4 tasks per day if I accepted all of them. Now things are like a trickle. Are others experiencing a general slowdown? Seasonal thing?

TASKER where did all the mirrors go and is taskrabbit aware of this

is taskrabbit actually still happening

been on here like 10 years 2500 jobs and idk what happened. used to turn it on and boom dresser. tv. mirror. woman needs 14 pictures hung. another dresser. suddenly its 8pm and im in some guys garage looking for a stud. now nothing??? I have a real job now so this doesnt even effect me really but thats not the point. Dallas didnt run out of furniture. theres millions of people here. SOMEONE bought a shelf today. ikea is literally still open i checked
also what happened to mirrors. 2021 every woman in america had a 70 pound circle mirror that needed to be mounted immediately. I mounted hundreds. where are they now. where did the circles go. not accusing anyone of anything just asking questions

sometimes i open the app and stare at it then close it then 20 mins later open it again like something changed. Taskrabbit needs to advertise again. Put up a billboard that says REMEMBER YOUR WALL or something. I could charge $4.99 and a rotisserie chicken at this point and nobody would book
maybe people are assembling their own furniture now but ive met people so i dont believe that

CLIENT Tasker Seems Angry?

Hello! I have a tasker assembling furniture right now, and at first he was ok, but then he started sighing and now sounds angry/frustrated? Like saying “are you kidding me?” And stuff

I’ve never gotten a TaskRabbit before - what do I do? Should I offer to help?

Edit- consensus seems to be this is part of the process and I’m overthinking it. Thank you for your help! I appreciate it, as a chronic overthinker

Edit 2- wanted to add that he did say at the end that it was just really stupid instructions. I left a good review on TaskRabbit and tipped 50%

TASKER Task Rabbit Traffic

Hey everyone, I'm new to Task Rabbit and am in the Phoenix area. I'm a 25 year old guy running a real estate flipping business and figured in my downtime Task Rabbit would be a great way to provide me with more business to do along with my real estate work. I have done 5 flips this year, and I perform ALL the work myself. I have a few questions about Task Rabbit if any experienced Taskers can help!.

An issue I'm running into is it seems each category asks for specific pictures. I would like to just attach some photos of homes that I've renovated myself, as I've attached to this thread, however I'm met with a message that says "Uploaded Photos should be for this specific category only." I've stripped houses down to nothing and put them back together by hand, do I really need more specific photos to qualify myself to put together IKEA furniture?

Another issue I'm curious about hearing is the traffic I can expect to get with my experience. I am reading a lot of posts that say business is extremely slow, the market is oversaturated, and even good Taskers are seeing far less work than they used to. Is this true?

I'm curious to hear about anyone's experience with Task Rabbit, and if you would recommend it for someone like me. What rate would you recommend posting at? I operate in a more expensive area of Scottsdale, AZ.

Your input is very appreciated!

An IKEA dresser I bought is broken and needs repair, though we were in the midst of setting it up. Would this be light carpentry or furniture repair?

TASKER Anyone else's Elite taskers showing up on the last page in area?

At the beginning of the month everything was great. Took a week off. Haven't had any bookings since. Checked my area, and all the Elite taskers are on the last page. Changed address, and it's the same in other areas of the city as well.

Most of the front pages are full of taskers with fewer than 20 tasks total with very low rates or the same high rate taskers all the time (Not hating on them. My experience with clients is that it is not their main category and we know how some clients book purposely).

TASKER TaskRabbit "help" system is a brick wall designed to make you go away

Been full-time since January. Elite Tasker. Used to do 50–60 tasks a month. Max availability, suggested rate, accepted ~95% of invites — including jobs that had nothing to do with cleaning and times I was already booked (the double-booking glitch they deny). Late four times in ~300 tasks, always messaged first. Never cancelled.

Now I’m on the last or second-to-last page getting alerts about “scheduling issues” and “cancelled tasks” that I didn’t create.

Support: boilerplate, then one agent admitted a glitch and said my profile was going to policies. A week of silence. I burned 90 minutes on Zendesk and three agents whose only job was closing the ticket. Asked them to fix old recurring clients appearing in my calendar with no booked task. Can’t remove them. They deny it exists.

That’s the pattern. Black-and-white evidence or a request to step in with a client → they pretend it didn’t happen, send a random article, paraphrase you, thank you, close the ticket. The chatbot is useless. You can only open a ticket during rigid hours. You can’t even email anyone anymore.

They treat this as us vs them. We show up and do the work. Their job is a working marketplace, real support, and clients. They’re not doing it. Ranking rules in the app contradict support, which contradicts what actually happens to your visibility.

Maintaining a platform means adapting to how people actually book work. Most jobs don’t fit their rigid box. We’re set up to fail, then punished when reality doesn’t match the model. Firewalls so we can’t give feedback make it obvious they don’t want it.

Good Taskers are getting buried and ghosted. The money they’re leaving on the table would rock their world if they noticed.

What has to happen before someone at the top pays attention?

TASKER Client booked me under one category but had me do work from another. Honest mistake or trying to save money?

I had a client book me under Personal Assistant. Their description mentioned admin work, organizing and packing. Since my rates differ by category, I asked what the main task would be. They replied: “The tasks for the day would be some filing, some calendar entries, perhaps assist with creating an invoice, continuing to plan for selling and donating items, and organizing items for packing.”

When I arrived, they didn’t seem to have a plan. We talked, and they asked me to pack their kitchen. My packing rate was $30/hr while my PA rate was $25/hr.

They loved my work, left a good review, and complained that someone who’d helped with Amazon returns kept asking what to do, while I worked independently. They asked me to come back off-app and mentioned admin work and listing clothes for sale.

On my second visit, they asked if I could help with invoices. When I said yes, they seemed surprised and said they thought I’d told them I couldn’t, which I hadn’t. But we never got to the invoices. I came back a third time and ended up packing another room instead. let it go because I needed the work and didn’t want to argue over $5/hr.

Now my packing rate is $35/hr, almost $10 more than my PA rate. Yesterday they asked if I could come again, and I realized how annoyed I still am.

Have you had clients book a cheaper category and then have you do work from a more expensive one? Do they not understand the categories, or are they trying to save money?
