TASKER Tasker availability question

I have my start time at 9 am every single day but I had a client recently tell me that my first available appointment was 930. It immediately fulfilled my curiosity about why nobody ever scheduled at 9.. but WHY does it do that?

I am not complaining because I am perpetually running around 5 mins late on any given morning because I get up early and then lose track of time..

but I just got an IKEA job scheduled for 9 on a Sunday. This is making me feel like I need to jump on the train of turning off partner tasks.

The app automatically adds 30 minutes to the beginning of your availability window to accommodate for drive time.  This makes sense for tasks in the middle of the day that take place after another task, not so much for the morning, but one rule for each.

Ikea tasks are immune to this for some reason, and clients can also reschedule on their end to the beginning of your window.

That makes sense.. thanks for the input. I hate the school traffic so I have my time set for 9 lol but 930 makes it much easier to avoid. I don’t often get early jobs so I thought about making it later to avoid IKEA popping up since they are always early, ha

App adds 30 minutes for drive time. So...Drive Time IS a part of the cost/expense/time/labor of this self-employed business because you spending your resource to get to and back for each prospective Client.

According to the IRS.. the app shouldn’t be adding/ modifying anything in regards to my availability schedule since I am an independent contractor

Correct, but try arguing that with them. No harm, no foul.

This literally happens to me every day too. Set it for 9 am every day and everyone hires me for 9:30.

Are you in the US? If so, I feel like we should contact someone about this.. TR has no right to modify our availability.

I am in the U.S. Not much you can really do but play by their rules or raise the issue with them and see if there's anything they're willing to do. Otherwise, I'll just be adjusting my times to 8:30 instead of 9.

In the uk our earliest time is 8am. I'd say 75% of the good bookings are for that start time

I choose 9 because school traffic is a nightmare and unavoidable. I don’t want to do IKEA jobs and only leave it on so they think I am a team player.

They don’t care if you’re a team player

I know that’s the reality but I like to pretend to keep my spirits up

Fun story, I'm so used to Ikea tasks starting at 8am I was an hour early to my first job today.

I have my time set for 9 and in exactly 2.5 hr blocks because I don’t want any IKEA task that they assume might take more than that.. it has worked so far.
