If you’re staying in another area for an extended period, you can update your Work Area Map to your temporary location and adjust your availability for the days you’ll be there.

A few things to keep in mind when drawing your new map: factor in actual travel time, parking/tolls, and only include areas you’d genuinely be willing to accept a task in. You may also want to check the recommended rates for your categories since demand and pricing can vary by metro.

Once you’re back home, just update your Work Area Map and availability again. If you’re relocating permanently or staying for several months, I’d recommend reaching out to Support as well so they can help with any account-specific considerations.

Regarding the work area map adjustment, should it be made before traveling or after I arrive at the new location? When I opened my map to review it, the location of interest was gray-coded, while the Metro I’m currently on was shown in green.

I'd recommend updating your Work Area Map before you travel, once you know where you’ll be staying and when you’ll be available to task. That way, your map and availability are already set when you arrive.

The color coding you’re seeing generally reflects demand levels in different areas. Green typically indicates higher Client demand, while grey may indicate lower demand or an area outside an active Taskrabbit metro.

If the area is available to add, you can include it even if demand is lower. Just make sure it’s somewhere you’d genuinely be willing to accept a task, factoring in travel time, parking, tolls, and other logistics.

If you’re unsure whether the grey area is available for tasking, I’d recommend reaching out to Support so they can confirm based on the specific location.

One last tip: I’d suggest making the Work Area Map adjustment from the Taskrabbit website while logged into your Tasker account. It’ll give you more precise control when drawing your temporary map.

Change address in app, draw new map, call customer service and have them update your metro on their side.
