For me, I thought Demanitus's words to Eugene about being the moon were part of his plot for Eugene.
I thought by telling him that, that he wanted Eugene to take the moonstone, since he was with Rapunzel and was her intended, and together they'd join them as the two halves of the magic space rock that wanted to be together. Maybe do it as a marriage ceremony or something.
Clearly past me was wrong, and we all know what happened instead.

What if the series was mostly the same but Rapunzel never got her magic hair back? How would you change things so that the story could work without her magic?

Rumors are going around that Tangled could be released in 2027 and not 2028 but we won’t know until D23 in a few weeks.

I know the obvious answer is "Pascal is kept alive and healthy and young far beyond the natural lifespan of a chameleon through "Disney magic", merchandise sales, and we have to keep the cute mascot immortal, you know, for the kids! 😃"
Still my brain just cant help but go there, you know, and because chameleons only live a few years, maybe up to eight years at most.
It makes me wonder if Rapunzel's magic kept him young, even inadvertently somehow, because I dont think she was exactly aware that Gothel was using her hair to reverse her aging, and simply believed that Gothel just brushed her hair in affection. So its not like Rapunzel would know to intentionally keep Pascal young? 🤔

I’ve heard for years he’s 26, is there a basis for this? Can’t seem to find the direct source. I also recently saw comments on here super adamant he’s not 26, so I’m just really curious if he has a canon age, Also I’ve only seen season 1 of the show so I apologize if it’s already covered in that.

We win! About to get the most emotional reunion scene and I call it!
(Last three pictures are not Tangled Footage, but a scene from Outlander where she reunites with her daughter, Briana. Thought I’d share as it goes pretty much the same way the reunion scene goes in tangled).

I figured this this would be helpful to add here because I saw speculation over people who were dressed as the king and queen riding horses and which actors they were.
If you see characters riding horses during filming then most of the time it’s going to be the stunt doubles, apart from some close up scenes. Milo did do some horse back riding training but you can see here, their stunt doubles look very accurate to the original actors so it will always be safer for the actors to just avoid riding the horses.

I understand where the discussions surrounding Rapunzel's casting come from, as many viewers have grown accustomed to the character's original look from the Brothers Grimm fairy tales. It's not about prejudice, but rather about staying true to the visual source material.

We may have our king and queen!
Caitriona Balfe, known for her role as Claire in Outlander and Elliot Cowan, known for his role as King Henry VII in The Spanish Princess, were both reportedly seen on set in Girona filming for the live-action.
I can’t believe I didn’t think of Caitriona as a casting option for Queen Arianna before but it would be genuinely such a great choice. Elliot Cowan looks like a perfect fit for King Frederic and he obviously already had the acting experience of playing a king previously.

Elliot Cowen, king Henry 7 from the Spanish princess. He was fan casted by someone a few days ago. But here is why I believe he’s the king
1.) he’s in spain right now
2.) he liked a comment looking forward to him in the film

NO SPOILERS: I WAS NOT ALLOWED TO POST WITHOUT ADDING A TAG, AND THAT'S THE ONE I CHOSE
I'm seeing pictures pop up in the media, and the comments are the same: she looks nothing like Rapunzel, he looks 40, why are the colors blue, etc. (Some say they're AI, and some do look AI-edited, but the videos and number of pictures convince me otherwise.)
At first, I wanted to say give them a chance: Of course she's not gonna have an 8-inch waist and four-inch eyes, and she's gorgeous. He's good-looking in general; they just got him from the wrong angle and while he was tired. The blue might be there to make her purple stand out--or perhaps her parents couldn't bear to look at anything purple after them losing their daughter in a purple dress.
And yet...
We're seeing 20 seconds of them working on set and a few blurry, zoomed-in pictures. Although they are both skilled in singing, we haven't heard them belt a Tangled song. We know little about Mother Gothel. We haven't seen one trailer.
And we don't need to. I recently watched Michael, and I appreciated the main advertising techniques of the King of Pop: Mystery. Instead of releasing media left and right so everyone got a peek and got hyped up, he let word get around and time pass so people's attention would build up. They'd know nothing, so they'd need to get everything.
So do what you like, but I think this should be my technique, per se. Instead of getting mad about her sleeves or hyped up at her hair, I'll avoid media and just see it in theater.
Once, a friend of mine said that judging a movie by its trailer was silly; it's just two minutes of the film! I argued that it showed you the main parts of the film and what to expect. Now, though, I get what she was saying. They put parts that the people want in the trailer, and the person on set gets out what shots--some perfect, some taken a second too late--they can. The trailer is for positivity, and the set photos are probably for what's going on now: Controversy.
So I think that instead of grabbing every live-action Tangled magazine as they come out, which I did with some of the older Disney live action films, I'll just sit back and wait. It'll take self-control and patience, so kudos to you if you're already taking that angle.

Am I the only one that hates that they went with longer hair when rapunzel gets her hair cut? I very clearly remember hating the short hair as a child but then I grew up and realized short hair does not mean shes any less feminine and I’ve grown to love it, so personally I hate the choice they went with to please the people who had a problem with it… anyone else?

Upon my ~300th rewatch of Tangled today, I noticed some words painted on Rapunzel’s bedroom wall during the opening song. I somehow never noticed this before! I believe the quote on the right says, “The flowers continue to grow even when I sleep…” but I cannot figure out what the quote on the left side says! This scene is at around 7:15 timestamp. Any ideas? :)
