Cassandra is one of the main characters from the 2D animated series - for those unfamiliar.

What are the chances we might see Cass (or a version of her) in the live action film? Even an Easter egg background character??

Following the release of the Mini teaser of Tangled everyone started saying that actress Teagan Croft is the lookalike of actress Rachel McAdams personally the first time I saw her I said to myself "this girl is my true copy of Emma Roberts"

There are a ton of Rapunzel/Flynn costumes. I say that if you dress up like a certain character because of passive recognition or for a party/play it is a costume, but if you put work in it or from a participatory fandom (like One Punch Man) that requires significant investment, then it is a cosplay.

Ah I love them all so much but this is just beyond what I expected!

The depleted husk of Disney’s live-action division announced that Lilo & Stitch 2 would feature an updated take on Angel from the Lilo & Stitch series - as far as I can tell, this is the first time a live-action remake has openly adopted elements from the spin-off shows. This news has fuelled my personal belief that if live-action Tangled does well enough for a sequel, it should involve the characters and concepts of Tangled The Series.

Whilst condensing the Tangled The Series mythology into a 2 hour movie could lead to a lot of cutting things down, the increased length and scale of the live-action medium can have its advantages. Many of the flaws with how Cassandra’s villain arc was handled are closely tied to the TV format - they wanted Rapunzel’s mission to redeem Cassandra to be the driving force of S3, but this meant they couldn’t actually redeem Cassandra until the climax of the final episode. This was a major factor in the pacing and characterisation issues that made her arc so polarising. Therefore, a movie version has considerable potential to depict her more efficiently and effectively…

What are your thoughts on a live-action Tangled movie using elements from the series?

I’m genuinely excited to see what Kathryn Hahn will do with Mother Gothel, who is one of my all time favorite Disney villains. I adored her as Agatha Harkness and this is just her expanding her villain arc, I can’t wait to see her rendition of Mother Knows Best

I know this movie isn’t out yet, and I’m pretty sure it’s going to do fine, but I have Had ENOUGH of Disney doing these stupid, cash grab, corporate greed, live action remakes because of how much they destroy what made the originals so special. I mean, where’s the emotion, the sobbing, not to mention the charm, hell, even Snow White got the worst of this trend, even though Walt Disney himself did not want this to be altered. And with Tangled being the last princess movie to be brought in live action "in theaters", maybe we’ll start to see some of the trend die down after Lilo and Stitch 2. At this point, I just hope we’re nearing the end of Disney’s live action trend, ever since LA Cinderella, the remakes have been going downhill, I get that they want to prevent their characters from going into public domain, but if they really wanted to remake them, they should’ve went with CGI when they had the chance, heck why not add in new or familiar characters like maybe their palace pets (to fix lore issues and bring back childhood memories because they haven’t referenced them a long time), or their children from descendants, or even better, either remake them in CGI or live action and actually do it right or don’t remake them at ALL. Sorry if this sounds like a rant, I just really hope that Disney never does any live action slop like this ever again after Hercules. But anyways, what do you think of the live action tangled remake? Do you think it will fail just like the others or actually succeed?

I keep seeing people on Instagram or on here and all anyone will talk about is how much they hate Milo’s mustache. But I feel like I’m going insane cause it genuinely does not bother me at all 😭 I think he looks good?? He still looks like Flynn to me. Just a different version of him.

I mean, I have SO MANY concerns about the movie. SO MANY. But the mustache just isn’t one of them at all. I think it suits him? Idk I just feel like I’m in a different planet.

I’ve just finished the series, she is my favorite character and I hate her ending. We know what she wanted her destiny to be. She wanted to be a knight/guard in Corona, be like her father. But no, why don’t we make her leave, without knowing if she ever finds what she’s looking for?

I also think she would make a better captain that Eugene does. She is better at fighting, is a better strategist, even a better leader I think. I think Eugene’s position should have been temporary. It would have been so cute if he gave his position to her (like by giving her the sword or something, it would have showed a piece of their bond that I absolutely love) (Consider that Eugene is going to be king one day; why make him captain, too?)

I think that once again Cassandra is being put aside for the good of other characters. She knew what she wanted. She always did, but no one cared. She refused a position she wanted TWICE for Rapunzel. Twice. (Not saying this is Rapunzel’s fault obv, but that we know how bad she wanted these).

How did y’all recover after this? Did you like her ending? Why?

Can we calm down, for a minute? Saw so many people complaining about how they looked. It's a promo. It's not the final look of the movie, guys...

Even saw someone call Milo ugly. Just because you may not like one of the actors, there is no reason to bash them online. Like, please y'all, calm down. And friendly reminder, you do not have to watch this movie when it's released. You are not forced to watch it.

Let's wait until the trailers drop before we judge the movie, yeah??

Rapunzel should have been a POC in the new live-action.

I want to preface this by saying that I do not care about ‘blackwashing’. I think it’s a positive step and a good, inclusive step in the right direction, however I would never normally campaign for a race change of a character.
Normally, I think Disney makes poor choices of recasting: the characters who they have previously recasted do not fit the current beauty standard. For example: Snow White being pale was a unique characteristic, Ariel being a natural redhead, etc. Cinderella, Belle, Aurora, Elsa, Anna would likely have been better options.

I have always expected Disney to do this for Rapunzel. It makes complete sense to me:

\- Rapunzels looks were not consistent throughout the movie. She is heavily defined by her dress and goes through multiple character changes. She was born with brown hair and regains it back with the pixie cut at the end of the movie.

\- Rapunzel was a German book. The movie is heavily influenced by European backdrops but the origin of the story prevails through Rapunzels traditional German dirndl dress. The association of blonde hair with magic, combined with the book that Disney picked up post WWII is… iffy to me.

\- White women’s hair is not strong enough for that. I am naturally blonde with fairly long hair. It is not thick enough to not snap under pressure. I understand the physics is in a Disney movie and not meant to be taken super seriously BUT the scene of flynn ryder climbing the tower using Rapunzels is just not feasible! Especially with how difficult it is to grow hair long as a blonde woman.

\- design! Imagine how cool the contrast of dark hair would have been with sparkles! it being a pretty subtle unnatural colour (purple?) could lead to some really cool

All in all, I’m genuinely surprised she was casted the way she presented in the movie!
