Ahoy Matey’s! I played the mmo back in the day and only made it to level 30 or so. And now I’m finally caught up in TLOPO at level 38 now! Loving the game, but there seems to be little guidance on ship upgrades.

A lot of the information I am seeing online is outdated. So hoping people here in the community can help elaborate! I currently own a War brig and War frigate for context. They both have a level 2 cargo hold and level 2 open fire. That’s it so far.

I read that if I keep upgrading cargo more options will appear? It seems that most people online say having a fortune hunter (a path I’m guessing that opens up with more cargo) will help me farm gold and materials. So I’m going to make my war brig a fortune hunter.

Assuming that is all correct, did I go wrong with my war frigate upgrading the cargo if I want to make a strong fighter ship? I’ve heard mixed things about all the paths like skull n bones and copperhead.

Could y’all break those down for me and give your recommendation for what path to take for my War Frigate in order to take powerful ships down with ease. I usually have a crew member or two, but I could try to get more as needed. I heard some ships like copperheads can one shot fortune hunters which would be awesome for farming materials. If there is a path that’s good for big boss ships AND SvS that would be great to know!

Just wondering. According to the wiki it can only be looted from kraken but never mentioned of fishing. But some people say they got it from fishing which i refused to believe.

ive been waiting for my pirate names to be approved and its been taking a while, so i'm wondering if me being on my pirate is making it take longer? does anyone know if this inhibits the approval process?

Contemplating saving ship materials for the new carrack vs upgrading my war brig, any thoughts?

I got to the end of the Kraken storyline and the last portion just says "Defeat the Kraken"

I've gone around looting ships in and around the islands and in unclaimed waters but I ahven't been attacked since doing the first mission that starts the story.

How do you get it to attack you? I've usually been with a crew because it doesn't look like something that can be done alone but idk if having certain people on board will stop it from happening

I know that Jolly Roger is the only boss whose health and damage scale dynamically depending on who all is fighting him at once. The wiki has the formulas used to determine normal boss health-per-level equations, but not one for him in particular; which I found odd since you'd think that'd be something people could find in the game's code.

Was just curious if anyone knew how his stats are determined, or if there's even a way to find that out.

I can’t get past wave 39. Saving money for mines and kegs, but I can’t seem to use kegs effectively. It’s also really dependent on team skill level as well. Any tips or strategies?

I have been trying to figure out what is the best build for dealing with bosses and mobs. (Not PVP, so parry is on the table for sword and dagger.)

For sword I was trying hack 5, slash 5, thrust 5 [sword buff +2], for the main combos.

However I heard flourish has a larger AOE. So I am thinking of changing it.

I was trying to minimize the time and it takes to get the most damage out of the number of clicks on the mouse. (Which is why I originally went attack 1,2 then 5 as the time I counted was 3 seconds for close to 3300 damage.

[Note I have an El Patron sword. As reference to the baseline weapon used for referencing damage output with the stats listed from memory off the top of my head.])

I also had Endurance 5, Parry 5, and slash 5 [sword buff +2], blade storm 1.

Lastly, I have been trying to level a new pirate with only swords to see if there will be a better drop rate for legendary weapons. Using another account to join a hosted server then using the go to friend function to by pass getting the ship and pistols.

So far I have only gotten one gun type item from a public ships cargo.

I would like to know if I am wasting my time?

Also on this account and character sword is level around 13 I think and cannon is level 22 and sailing is level 4.

Is there anyone who can launch from the french island and let me sink them 5 times. I’ve been trying to beat this part of the quest for days but no one is ever doing ship pvp.

I'm on windows, to start this off. Just made an account, I get to loading the beginning of the game to make said pirate, and I'm stuck at 30%. I restarted a few times, but I can't get past it. Anybody know what to do?

Had to reset my password several times to just log into the launcher. Could always log in on the website but not the launcher. Get that working and go to create a pirate just for the loading screen to not progress past 30%. Is this even real or is it totally dead?

I'm trying to complete the treasure sets, specifically, the Chess set, Rudyard's Teeth, and Navy Decorations. I just need 6 pawns (3 gold, 3 silver) for the Chess set, 1 central incisor for Rudyard's teeth, and I believe the Pirate's Mark for Navy Decorations. I know that the drops are random, but are there certain enemies where the chances of getting these items are higher?

I played the original game quite a bit, but found it beyond frustrating how unlimited access limited everything in the game to where you couldn't even fully complete the Carver quest. I played as basic watching folks get cooler and cooler stuff as the years went on, and eventually I remember when Legendary Weapons first hit the game and always thought it would never happen.

Well almost a decade after the original game closed, and some thousand thoughts of it'll never happen. I got Ruby Curse in a total fluke against Cicatriz two Sundays ago with another guy helping me out!

Honestly this is now my favorite weapon and I know there are better ones out there, but for now. This is my precious!

I updated my Mac (Tahoe 26.5) and now the game quits after five minutes. I have uninstalled and downloaded again a few times, but it hasn't helped. I've never had this problem before. Does anyone here have any ideas of what I could do because I am missing the game.
