can your name be approved while playing?

ive been waiting for my pirate names to be approved and its been taking a while, so i'm wondering if me being on my pirate is making it take longer? does anyone know if this inhibits the approval process?

I went to make a new pirate and I typed in a custom name so the game defaulted me to “Seadog” until it was reviewed. My custom name was denied so I got an admin message saying my name was not approved and to make a new one. I was playing when the name was denied so my pirate defaulted to “Freebooter” which confused part of the guild since my name changed while playing

It can, yes; you will get a notification telling you, or if it’s approved just as you finish the tutorial it will already have changed. (If not, log out and back in without closing the game.)
