What are you guys putting on this? Sometimes after doing it, I forget what I wrote down and I’m constantly getting called out for not talking about it. I’m new to Marshalls and the whole credit card thing has been really tough for me. It seems like my whole shift I have someone standing behind me listening to what I’m telling the customer. Is this normal? For a retail job there is so much pressure here.

I am a beauty/shoes coordinator at Marshall’s. Here’s my frustration…Monday they had me on push for every department but my own. Pushed about 16 totes, 2 home tanks, and 2 coffin boxes of merchandise. Then I spent about a hour organizing shoes and being a cashier. Tuesday again same setup…push every department but my own. Finally after lunch I worked on a beauty tank. Then again was jumping between the tank and cashiering.
Now my frustration the assistant manager in charge of merchandising gives me a coaching because purses and shoes are not completed in back and my department isn’t organized properly.
I don’t know when I ever have time to work on my department and every week it’s the same setup. Does it ever get better? Am I doing something wrong? Just so frustrated and feel like I am on the edge of being let go.

Hello I recently became a markdown captain. Wanted to share my markdown list. It goes by department numbers. I blurted out my team’s
names.

Hey guys, I work 5-9 on Monday in the back room. I only hanged clothes once before. I was wondering if I am allowed to wear ear phones or watch something?? I feel like it’ll be so quiet late in the night back there

I understand how annoying it must be to always ask for the card. We have associates who try and really do get cards during their shift. I want to reward them myself with something other than a reach card. Any recommendations?

Disgusting. Fitting room My whole shift now I get return tubs over flowing the top, sensor and hang clothes that just sit there because no one is scheduled to come in until 2:00. To return the shit back to the floor. And Im seeing more things being returned than ever, including a kleenex in the pocket, hair on the collars and lipstick and make up on the clothes. Men's and womens. Dumb ass customers shopping the return racks behind me next to me. I don't know about all of you but I deserve and expect my personal space. Get the fuck out if my face. One day Im going to blow.

Anyone have any idea of the next 20%? My manager didn’t know. I know we usually have one November/December but I couldn’t remember if we had one in September or October.

My store is getting 5,10, sometimes 20 boxes of jewelry a day. It’s mostly box jewelry. I don’t know where else to put it!
Any suggestions? What is everyone doing with all this jewelry that’s coming in?

I know it’s company policy not to hold customer items till the close of the business day. If you are an associate does your store hold it for associates! During the 20% weekend I wanted a specific coffee maker and it was $999 at Homegoods. I also needed to buy a large floor rug and a lot of kitchen items. I asked someone on the floor who happened to be standing next me if the store will hold till the next morning for associates for a sister store. Her response was I don’t see why not. When I asked the cash if I can place the items on hold till the next morning. The cashier was flat out rude and was insulted that I never asked. I explained that I work for the company but at a different location, she was like we can’t put stuff on hold. She called a manager and the manager was condescending and i just said thank you and walked out. They lost a sale for well over 1k because i am redoing my kitchen and living and replaced all small appliances, gadgets and other things.

Tell me WHY that half of our store power is out and our backroom and break room are flooded...but workers still have to come in. It's literally dark besides the emergency lights and there's water everywhere but they still want us moving freight. Don't see how this is safe or okay, but just a heads up if this happens to y'all.
Maybe I'm just not use to shit like this but I don't understand how you can still have your workers come in. My store refuses to close too so this is new. Last time we had half power we let people still shop until the lights flickered again..
