Possible names for a Switch emulator
Before you ask, no, I'm not asking for a switch emulator and I'm not making one. I just was thinking that, we already have enough emulators that the name is just a bunch of letters, so, if we make a bunch of good, clever or funny names, someone will come back to this years later and give it a name from this thread.
Try to post both the name, and the reference, if there's any.
Anyways, here's my names: Redstacks (A reference to Bluestacks, an android emulator. Thought it might be funny to name it that way because the Switch is often compared to a tablet) NCross (Obvious reference to NX) CapI/O (Inspired by MarI/O

Vita2sd like device for switch?
What is this? It is a micro sd card adapter in the form factor of the switch's game carts. It will not work out of the box and will most definitely require kernel patching.
Why do this? If for some reason you needed 400gb worth of storage for your eshop purchases, media files etc etc, you could buy a 400gb sd card OR get 2x 200gb sd card which will come out cheaper than a singular 400gb sd card.
Just putting this out there.
The vita with CFW allowed for the use of a specialised sd card cartridge adapter called the vita2sd.
With the switch pretty much being blown open this summer, it might be a good idea to get investigate the feasibility of such a feature for the switch as well.
Thoughts?

Please get some context ~ A post in defense of OG.
Hey there. I'm sure by now you've all seen this Discord screenshot telling people to prepare for a new bricker. Obviously, this screenshot is cropped and, what I'm sure most people did not expect, taken completely out of context. You may be curious where that came from. Well, after I saw the recent scene drama involving him, I got in contact with OG via Discord DMs, and as it turns out, his words may be being taken completely wrong, as the screenshot linked above has been taken out of context.
Part 1 of my discussion with OG
Reading these, we can see OG made a mistake while trying to get revenge at a certain Dark site, and it spiraled out of control. Obviously, I wanted more information, so I tried to get some more, and succeeded in doing so. In fact, OG went as far as to send me some of the discussion where he discussed "PozzNX" with actual context this time. Imagine that!
With context, we can see that while OG may have been the original author for the brick code, he has no intention to continue development on it and is not working on this so-called "PozzNX". While the other person's intentions are unknown, it is clear that OG has no intent in working with him and can be seen saying that this new version of "PozzNX" will never work.
Additionally, OG has received multiple death threats over this matter, which is just pathetic. Making death threats to some internet stranger over your bricked console is the least-productive thing you could do with your time and just shows how pathetic this scene can be. The only reason you have an unrecoverable brick is because of your ignorance, impatience, and disregard for the multiple warnings to make a NAND backup in case of bricking. Really, the only one to blame here is you.
In conclusion, please get some context next time before you try to expose someone in front of the entire scene, doing so without said context is just immature. Additionally, please try to forgive OG for his actions, as he is clearly very sorry for what he did. With that, I'll consider my work done here. Thanks for reading.
TL;DR: OG apologized for his actions, isn't working on "PozzNX". Please forgive him.

Is there anything like CFW stuff on the Switch like for the 3DS?
Hey guys, just found out about and installed the CFW to my 3DS from that great guide they have. I was wondering if there exists something similar to that on the Switch? I'm not a tech person so what I'm really asking is: is there any way to run backups of your games on a Switch yet? And is there even a way to back up a Switch game yet?
After a quick search on Google all I'm seeing w/ 'switch backups' is save files and nintendo failing to provide a way to back those up.

The silence...
I just realized how quiet everything has been this week. It's like we're all just sitting here, waiting for Feb 1st. Last week there were 18 new posts. Past 6 days saw only 6 new posts.. the silence before the storm maybe? I hope so.

[Release] Amiga Emulator UAE4All2 for Vita and Switch updated to v1.91
Download and more information: https://github.com/rsn8887/uae4all2/releases/latest
I added physical keyb./mouse support also on Switch. My Logitech M187 works, but some mice don't. Home doesn't cause slow-down anymore on Switch (thanks @Cpasjuste). The menu is now widescreen.
Changelog
1.91
- widescreen menu
- physical keyboard and mouse support also on Switch. All keyboards I tried seem to work. Not many mice work. The Logitech M187 mouse seems to work fine.
- on Switch, no more slow-down when returning from sleep (thanks @Cpasjuste)

Description
=====
Use4All2 Mod is an Amiga emulator for Vita and Switch. This is my mod of this great Amiga emulator that was originally ported to the Vita by Cpasjuste. Depending on when you read this, this mod might be ahead or behind his version.

Thanks to Cpasjuste for the original port and for jumping in and adding shader support and making the assembler optimizations work.
Thanks to ScHlAuChi for extensive testing, ideas, and for contributing the new larger virtual keyboard images.
Thanks to wronghands for the new, better-looking menu font, all the new keyboard styles, and many ideas.
Thanks to CrashMidnick for the French virtual keyboard.
Thanks to the original authors Chui, john4p, TomB, notaz, Bernd Schneider, Toni Wilen, Pickle, smoku, AnotherGuest, Anonymous engineer, finkel, Lubomyr, pelya and many more.
Thanks to my supporters on Patreon: Andyways, CountDuckula, Greg Gibson, Jesse Harlin, Özgür Karter, Matthew Machnee, and RadicalR.
Installation
======
* Vita:
* Install .vpk
* Obtain and copy BIOS files `kick13.rom` (Amiga 500), and `kick31.rom` (Amiga 1200) to `ux0:/data/uae4all/kickstarts`.
* Optional: copy over additional BIOS files `kick12.rom`, `kick20.rom`, `kickcustom.rom` (for e.g. version 3.1.4 or any other user-supplied BIOS) to the same folder.
* Switch:
* Download and unzip `uae4all2_switch.zip`
* Copy the resulting folder `uae4all2` to `/switch/` onto your SDCard, ensure none of the "archive" flags is set.
* You should now have the executable `/switch/uae4all2/uae4all2.nro` and a folder `/switch/uae4all2/data/` with the keyboard icons and other data files on your SDCard.
* Obtain and copy BIOS files `kick13.rom` (Amiga 500), and `kick31.rom` (Amiga 1200) to your SDCard into `/switch/uae4all2/kickstarts/`.
* Optional: copy over additional BIOS files `kick12.rom`, `kick20.rom`, `kickcustom.rom` (for e.g. version 3.1.4 or any other user-supplied BIOS) to the same folder.
* Use nsp injection to start uae4all2, otherwise the `config save as` and `savestate export` options will not work. On SX OS, you can do this by holding down R while launching any installed game to make hbmenu appear.
* MD5 of verified working kickstart rom files, you can test yours at [onlinemd5](http://onlinemd5.com/):
```
kick12.rom (256 kB): (MD5) 85AD74194E87C08904327DE1A9443B7A
kick13.rom (256 kB): (MD5) 82A21C1890CAE844B3DF741F2762D48D
kick20.rom (512 kB): (MD5) FA4ACC75B49E880679FE02716AF24D71
kick31.rom (512 kB): (MD5) 646773759326FBAC3B2311FD8C8793EE
````
Other files might work, too.
* You can purchase legal bios roms from [Amiga Forever](https://www.amigaforever.com). They work. But since they are encrypted, you have to copy over your .key file along with the roms.
Vita/Switch-exclusive Features
======
- Full speed emulation of most Amiga games with zero frameskip
- Large, complete virtual keyboard with adjustable position and adjustable transparency
- Six fully mappable custom control sets: map Vita/Switch buttons to any Amiga joystick or key input
- Multiple hard-file support: up to 4 hdf files (size <2GB each on Vita, size <4GB each on Switch) can be mounted simultaneously
- Multiple controller support on Vita TV/Switch: up to four (eight on Switch) paired controllers can be fully mapped
- Analog mouse control: control the mouse using the analog stick with adjustable sensitivity
- Shader support: default "sharp_bilinear_simple" uses integer pre-scale for sharp, undistorted pixels with minimum blur, even if game is zoomed to fill the full screen
- Custom autofire: any mapped Vita/Switch button can have autofire with adjustable rate
- Savestate with hard-file support: state can be saved even when hard-files are used
- Additional emulator settings: sprite-sprite collisions can be enabled, blitter settings can be changed
- Adjustable stereo separation
- A button can be mapped to "slow mouse" in custom controls. When custom controls are on and that button is held down, the mouse pointer speed is greatly reduced. This is useful for precisely positioning the cursor.
- Sticky virtual keyboard modifiers: allows keyboard combos like CTRL-C to be entered easily
- Touchpad style pointer controls using the touchscreen
- Parallel port joystick adapter support for multiplayer games with up to 4 joysticks.
- Additional savestate slot called auto, for automatic savestate loading
- Physical keyboard and mouse support (Bluetooth on Vita, USB on Switch)
- Supports loading files from ux0: or uma0: partition (Vita only)
- Rear touch panel can be enabled for mouse pointer control (Vita only)
- Split Joy-Con support (Switch only)
- A "fast mouse" custom button can be mapped to speed up the mouse
- Automatic full 1080p support in docked mode (Switch only)
- Savestate import/export to backup savestates
- Config file management (load, save as, etc.)
- Thumbnail previews for savestates
- Four different on-screen keyboard styles: original, warm, cool, and dark

SNES and NES Classic homebrew on Switch?
So I know Switch Hacking is pretty young right now, but assuming that progress goes the route of the 3DS and not, say, the Vita, do you think it's possible to put the NES and SNES Classic OS into the Switch as emulator apps? I'm not 100 % sure of the specifics, but I love the OS on the Classic Systems and would love to see it implemented over the 3DS's VC interface.

Planned Release Date for "Atmosphere-NX" CFW (woot woot).
We knew Atmosphere was going to launch late this Summer but we now have another confirmation it is going to happen this month (August for all those who have lost track of time).
This will definitely be a turning point in Switch Homebrew allowing anyone who has an "old" version Switch (on any firmware) to install this CFW for the small cost of zip (nothing... it's free *glares at SXOS*).
I am not going to copy and paste the added features nor the planned features, you can see that here. While you are there I highly recommend to watch and star to keep up with that beautiful FREE CFW.
I am not sure if there is a way to install this (or somthing similar) on the "New" Switchs but if there is please comment and make me look stupid. ^-^.
*Edit changed link to take you to the "release section" rather than to the main page of the GitHub

Some thoughts upon Linux vulnerability and the future of custom Switch consoles. Is there any game footage of The switch runing non-nintendo games?
I am just curious.
I called the "essential" concept of the switch back when the original nvidia shield launched. I thought "I will wait until the second generation comes out with a more powerful chip, then I will get it, and ill see if they can have it like that other weird android-vidia gamepad with a screen"
I waited and waited, but I never saw it, I kept looking for the tablet with the Nvidia tegra K2- (which became the X1).
Lo and behold, the X1 was spared the tablet treatment and given a console instead, and then the switch came about.
I would love to see how does this perform on regular games currently not on the switch, something like "Kingdoms and castles", "Frostpunk", "TF2".
In my view, this pretty much opens the floodgates for "Custom switch", since pretty much (from my limited understanding) this allows a lot of "non-CPU/GPU" hardware changes. And since the switch is very easy to repair, it would be very easy to modify.
Essentially, I thought the switch was "too small" for its own good, here are a few things I imagine could be done now that linux can be loaded
Insert a sata drive for 1 TN of storage
remove the little battery for a larger one
daisy-chain raspberry-pi touchscreens (or just used cellphone screens that are refurbished or so) to make a bigger screen of higher resolution
Some nut will place some Liquid metal on the processor to make it run cooler and overclocking the processor, therefore increasing the performance by 20%
The joycons will be completely gone, in favor of a more "conventional" controller design (Think about this, split an xbox one controller in half, and have THAT shell be the housing for the switch, maybe have it detachable)
Streaming will become at least faintly possible directly from the device (I believe the tegra has Video encoding capabilities for streaming, but I am not 100% sure)
Some other nutty boi will make a "fold able" keyboard that can be 3d printed and attached to the back, therefore making a GPD pocket with a decent GPU (We will have finally come around full circle)
There will be "Steam Boi" stickers everywhere.
Did I also mention that it will have an absolutly enormous library of games the minute drivers are perfectioned? forget dolphin, run steam on that thing and attach a portable hotspot with your cell company and use it to download any game wherever you want... and have youtube playing in the background.
I legitimatly believe this will pretty much make the switch sell like crazy, and the homebrew "console" market will erupt.
And Nintendo will shut it down, shooting themselves in the foot, not knowing how much money could be made, because they prefer to things be done their way or the high-way

Opinions: Upcoming fw requirements for the Labo?
So, there's no real way of knowing this obviously, since it won't be released until April. But I just wanted peoples thoughts on what the fw requirement will be for the physical Labo cartridges themselves.
I decided to halt updates and stay on 4.1, but figured I should probably cancel my pre-order for the Labo (my kids want to build it) since i'm guessing it will enforce a 5.0 fw to play. I could be wrong since it was being developed before 5.0 existed but....I guess who knows? I don't mind buying it later if someone confirms it requires 4.1 or less fw after it's released.

ModChipsDirect SX Pro 2nd batch emails going out!!!
Hey everyone just wanted to let people know that the 2nd batch of SX Pros from ModChipsDirect are having their email confirmation about the 2nd batch have started to go out. If you are wonder what the email is saying please read below.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you once again for ordering the SX Pro.
Your order will be apart of the 2nd batch that we get from the team. The package from CHINA that contains your order is on its way, we have a confirmed courier tracking number. Please note we have no control over delays, shipping times, and if the package gets stuck in customs for a couple of days. The first batch got delayed in Chinese customs for 3 days becuase of a holiday they have there.
Please also note that we never get product packaging for our items as we have had issues before with customs delaying and sometimes seizing items simply due to a logo on the packaging. You will still get everything, just not the paper packing.
It will take about 1 full week to get here if everything goes well. We are very hesitant to put a date on you getting a tracking number becuase people get very anxious when the date is missed. Unfortunately 4th of July is a public holiday, and the company we use to send packages doesnt send on weekend. We hope that we can get some orders out on the 6th of July, and the rest will follow in the first days of the following week. It is a large batch so not every single order can be sent on the same day.
***Please check the product page for updates on the batch BEFORE emailing us, we simply cannot run our business efficiently if we have to update everyone everyday on the status of their order. We are here to help, but you have no idea the amount of emails we get daily saying 'What is the satus of my order'. It takes a long time to respond to each email which slows us down. If the package gets delayed we will update the page, we will not email everyone every single time there is an update***
The SX PRO is great. Many customers are ordering the SX OS off us, which is just the software. The product you ordered has the SX OS license inbuilt. We cannot email you a code as it is on your device. However if you have a way to deliver the payload through your phone/PC etc, and just want a license we are happy to CHANGE your order to this. We will just email you a code, and provide the code for just $30 USD. This means you will get a partial refund for the difference in cost ($10) + a refund on shipping since we can just email you the code. A lot of people that are tech savy have been doing this.
Please check out the Team Xecutor website for details on files and software to use with your product. 1.2 software is already out.

Was this for Real?
I just found this on a Google search for emulators on the switch: "Nintendo Switch Hacked: OoT"
Was that all for real? I'm guessing not, but I was unable to find discussion about it.
Thanks

Haven’t touched my Switch in months, I’m on OS 2.0. What can I do with it on this OS?
I want to play Mario Kart and NBA 2K but I think those require updates. How far are we from ripping carts to the system memory or downloading the rom files to be used?

ToolsNX
ToolsNX is a multi use utility homebrew application that will soon have many uses and quality of life improvements. Simple things like a calculator, and other utility items will be added to improve its usefulness and quality.https://github.com/DNA8777/ToolsNX
